I was anti-Mac during my teens to, it's literally mainstream to be so.

But once i dived into a professional surronding where people that have been working in the job since 30 years actually use Mac's at home i was surprised at first and making some bantz as to how shitty they are.

Tried to change my setup in my squat, I was definitely too wide. Did an easyish 230kg single with a much narrower stance and it felt good. Need to strengthen my quads, I'll hammer them this cycle (inb4 roids, dear Sean)

I cannot squat wider. every time I try i get instantly really weak and I get a nasty sharp stabbing pain in my left glute. It gets proportionally worse and hurts and makes walking painful afterwords the harder I externally rotate in the bottom of a squat, or the wider I go. When i squat narrow like normal, I feel no pain, squats are comfy and feel strong.

the only reason I dwell on it at all is because it fucks with my position for catching cleans and makes it garbage, as seen by this video

A little anecdotal evidence I could offer would be to squeeze glutes and tense lats.
Try learning power cleans from the starting strength book. They're really easy and helped me improve my deadlift form and made pulling generally more comfortable.

I'd say stop taking so long between reps. As soon as the bad has come to a dead stop I start pulling again. Even if this means you need to deload then so do it. You can add 5kg on your deadlift a week on SS so it won't take long to get far.

That's my opinion though.

You'll find out. You're doing sets of 8 reps until you get to a weight that is your 8RM. Start with the bar, then add weight in 20, 10, 5 or 2.5 kg increment, depending on how close you are to your 8RM. At this weight (the 8RM), you knock out three more sets with 5-6 reps. This is week 1.
For week two, you take your 8RM weight, divide by 0.8 and now you have your max. 80% of this max is what you'll do 5x5 with on week 2.
Get it?

I understand your want to do front squats, but if you're a beginner, just stick with the beginner programs until you stall. Then you can move onto the 2x/week or 3x/week intermediate program.
