My current belief based on everything I've come across is that more strength means more muscle and that strength is esthetic, that free weights are the way to go, that most machines are shit and a scam, that gym memberships generally cost more than a home gym. Going to buy myself a power rack/cage with an oly BB and I'll do SS/SL minus the overeating as soon as I fix my knee problem by doing hamstrings stretches.

That's about it for now.

I learned about calories a few years ago, and I'm past 30. Literally never learned this shit at school. Literally learned this shit existed because my mother told me about her weightwatcher point program and I wondered aloud why this wasn't done for EVERY food item. If by lacking you mean the muscle growth, then you gotta be patient. It's not that easy to grow huge delts as natty. Don't compare yourself to people on roids. Do your OHPing, add lateral raises, and be patient and consistent with your training. And eat/rest enough.

If by lacking you mean you are stalling on the OHP, there are a few steps to improving it:
- Do lateral raises. The lateral heads of the delts are very important for the OHP.
- Add less weight. For some reason people think they are supposed to add 2.5kg per workout to everything (I blame SL). If you do that you will never progress on the OHP. Aim to add 1kg instead. If you are still getting stuck, lower it to 0.5kg.
It sounds like very little, but it's better to keep progressing at a slow and steady pace than trying to go fast and stalling nonstop.

If you mean that you have smaller shoulders, it's probably just a matter of patience and of needing to wait while everything progresses.

You can try to fight for more reps, instead if constantly adding weight. If you do a day of 3x5 @ 65lbs, don't add weight on your next workout. Fight for 1x5 and 2x6 next time--one or two more reps. Yay. Then you can go ahead and add weight the next time (third day).

That should be normal for most lifts, especially if you're stalking. This advice is courtesy of ACSM.

And, if you still plateau, try eating more, sleeping more, and more rest between sets.

And finally, if the stall progresses, then at this point you probably are decently strong. You're doing everything else right. Try adding supplementary lifts. Lat raises and rear DB flies.
