More progress on the map stuff. Just about functional enough to move into event creation.

So originally I was going to have the rest/explore buttons, but then I was thinking, what if you can explore a cell by clicking it. Its a bit better than moving the mouse back and forth, however, there is a whole step missing here because when you explore a tile, an event will trigger so the screen will change before you press another tile.

But now I'm picturing that when you highlight a cell, there will be text in the highlight that will explain the action when you click it a second time. "explore" -- "move to" -- "rest"

Combat Events will have this warning label, and a summary of the conditions. Also a chance of you finding them, or them finding you. If they ambush you, you have to fight, but if you find them first, you can avoid it. I'm thinking things like party size will effect this as well. Give single player parties a slight edge in the "stealth" side of avoiding encounters.

So, I've had an idea for a game bouncing around and could possibly use some input.

It's a /d/-themed roguelike game. As in, very much like Rogue, ascii graphics and all. Text based scenes for sexual content. The idea is that the whole game is based around /d/-related stuff, with just about every monster wanting to rape the PC in some way, and plenty of sexy traps (the dungeon kind, not the crossdressing kind) and cursed items.

Some basic game system ideas: In addiiton to health, the PC has an arousal meter, and the higher it gets the more likely the PC is to just throw herself at sex. Only certain enemies are able to increase arousal, but plenty of traps (say, an aphrodisiac dart trap) can do it as well. There's a hunger meter as well, and a lot of the food has other effects (Not sure if I'd want to go the full CoC transforming food route, or something simpler but still potentially punishing for just eating everything.)

Items would be a mix between genuinely useful items (a suit of armor or an enchanted sword), and items that are more "It's useful, buut" (perhaps a penis-shaped gag that releases something to eat; keeps hunger from gowing below a certian value but increases arousal and she can't remove it easily).

Anyone have any advice on how to make a game like this?

That's also the deal with TQ. You must leave the game, which involves - at the very least - dealing with the two sisters, with as much jewellery as you can. So, you must build your character to be able to defeat them. Which forces you to move around (triggering traps), open containers (gotta find eq/jewellery), equip stuff (get cursed), eat and drink to last long enough (and suffer from side effects), fight enemies to get rich and strong enough (possibly getting fucked), go lewd enough to handle the sisters (possibly getting mindbroken)... it's 100% risk-reward, with RNG fucking your build plans every few minutes.
But yeah, you're welcome doing your own version of it focusing on your preferences.

Like I've said, I have something similar in mind as the other anon proposed but with monster girls. So it's a roguelike where you have to escape from the dungeon, but based on your stats girls might want to rather mate with you than kill you (like some monster girls would prefer +strength, some might +intellect etc.). I was also thinking about an Arousal meter, which if gets filled will result in losing your spirit energy thus failing. I'm also wondering about a way to marry the monster girls on the road, which means they'll help you fight your way out.

I'm not 100% sure if I would let the player chose to be either female or male (wanted to go with male as default). But that would lead to interesting mechanics, like the monsters would have preferences towards genders, so maybe with the proper clothing the player could fool them that they are from that gender and not from their actual sex to avoid battle and so on.

The original FFT was not turn based (enemy turn <-> your turn), but ATB based (each unit acts depending its speed).

Each style has its particular downsides, depending how viable some builds can be.
Consider Phantom Brave (ATB), where units could have billions in Speed and scale damage through that stat, letting them pretty much destroy the entire board before anything else could act (ghosts had a turn limit to prevent that, but Marona didn't, which made SPD-Marona absolutely broken).
Something similar happened if you boosted your speed to insane amounts in FFT (through the degen trick).

Turn based has the usual problem of pure glass cannon being always the most efficient path, since each party moves and acts "instantly" relative to their enemies.

Vandal Hearts tried a system where one enemy acted at the same time as one of your units, but that ended up not helping much, since you'd just push your tank as decoy and gang up on the fuckers.

If it relies on more than 1 specific stat or mechanic to determine priority and doesn't have any sort of balance built in to discourage glass cannons, than it's shit. If a designer takes some time to consider multiple combat avenues and unique character archetypes that can take advantage of them, turn based can be very tactical and rewarding.

Think about mastering combat in Final Fantasy X, defeating bosses before they can even attack, or consider the SMT games where you can utilize debuffs and enemy weaknesses to be successful against a powerful foe.

Generally, I'll make a beeline for Town, and hope i can get the second encounter with Adventurer on the way, since it gets you 30 gold. Also, if you encounter an Ogre, the first time always ambush, then kick club away, and lay a beating into his ass. Easy gold, can't remember the amount. And on subsequent encounters, just kick it's ass with Blitz.and tempo attacks.

Once i get to town i buy all food, and some hp pots. then if i have the gold i grab a Cutlass.

From there i just travel around.

Another one is Ranger with 5 charisma for dryads and 6 perception and catamite. You can then get fucked by brigands for 3 xp and use it to power level your combat stats, guarding during any combat rounds will drain out the extreme amounts of cum you'll get filled with. You can get the advanced bow and concussive arrows in the first planet, and due to fucky coding the stuns caused by the concussive arrows still count for sneak attacks on the same attack, so you just shit crits non stop, with the chance of double crits that annihilate everything.

Grenades are pretty good for unfair group fights, and the stealth field is pretty good too.
