Well, been having a shit time lately. The past couple of weeks have just been a bunch of bullshit with work and school and being too tired to want to do anything other than spend time with my fiance or friends.
Infrequently got some work done on my game when I got days off or happened to have both free time and didn't feel like ass. Shit ton of bug fixes and shit, but that's always a zero sum thing.

Today's a day off so I'm back at it again finally. I've just been working on a new scene I abandoned weeks ago and finishing my work improving my TF system. I've been adding new transformations and making the system easier to use and write TFs for.

Instead of writing the same crap over and over again with small variations, I've just set up "base TFs" which are then modified dynamically by the flavor type so that less writing is involved but it still adds the proper changes to it to make all the TF types different from eachother

After all, changing skin color, or eye color or simple shit like that isn't all that different between whether its a demon tf or cow tf or whatever, but you can add things make it "taste" different according to whatever you want.
The more complicated TFs have even more variance between the flavor types but it's all on a similar system as the rest of the game now and is somewhat less spaghetti

But I'll leave it at that. I'm trying to only bug you guys when I have actual content to provide. Who knows when that'll be lol.

Unless someone else has done this, then I'm just going to have assume this was from the TE thing. Which for 100% accuracy sake is actually from the TE base game, which is why its in Venture's mod.

That particular line was from when I first wrote up the item system in the beginning of development, which was the "I literally have no idea what I'm doing" phase and not the "I have the appearance of looking like someone who could possibly know what they're doing but really doesn't" phase I'm currently in.

The item system no longer used that particular monstrosity pretty much right after, but there's a ton of shit that never got used or removed from my earlier testing and fiddling and plenty of monstrous stuff I'm sure I still use.

As for Venture, he just straight compiles my game from the swf, so I don't think he has a way to tell which shitty part of the code is used for something and which shitty part isn't. lol

Text based, something similar to coc's gui. The idea is you play as a character who runs a camp, and during the day you can go out to explore and collect "stuff". At night you can manage the camp and do activities with followers and captives. Which one's the easier alternative is debatable (and I'm sure the actual difference is minimal) though I'm biased towards html+javascript because manipulating dynamic text ("hypertext" if you will) with the tools specifically designed for that seems more straightforward than twisting a vector graphics engine to do so. Also, Flash plugin is and has always been shitty, so directly rendering html is almost guaranteed to be more efficient.

Flash is dead and a pain in the ass. Don't bother.

HTML/CSS/JS works if you have extremely unambitious plans for your game. But you're also running the risk of cross-browser problems. See for example: Strip Poker Night at the Inventory. If the risks are acceptable, go for it.

Unreal/Unity/etc is absolute overkill for anything a single dev in /d/ will be doing. You're slicing bread with a chainsaw, and you don't even know how to use the chainsaw.

Godot would be a fairly reasonable engine/framework choice. It's lightweight and supports all (or nearly all) of the features a /d/ev would need. The main drawback is the odd custom scripting language they use which appears to be a python derivative. Off hand, the text based /weg/ Strive For Power is the only h game I can think of using Godot. The dev had no programming experience when he started and still managed to make something that brings in Patreon shekels.

C/C++ is perfectly acceptable if you already know what you're doing. If you try to use this as a way of learning either, your game will never materialize.

While Java is also acceptable for experienced devs, it is an easy to pick up language for someone with no experience. If you're willing to put the time and effort into learning it, you can make something decent in a reasonable amount of time. With JavaFX, you can also make a UI that doesn't look like garbage. Just use the right IDE (hint: IntelliJ IDEA).

Golang however is the one true /d/ev language. It's is like a better C, from the guys that didn’t bring you C++. With the Go plugin for IntelliJ IDEA, it's just so cozy and warm. Just don't use it for anything realtime unless you know what you're doing.

So first thing is that I over leveled a bit. Now enemies can't even damage me on purpose if I want to lose and see a scene. Is there any way, a spell, potion, or option, to be able to lose on purpose? I don't want to have to restart my couple hours of progress.

Is there a way to get companions to help out in combat? I don't need it anymore, but earlier when I tried hiring those women for $1000 they just defend the town, and still ask for money.

Money's kinda slow to get. I'm leveling way faster then getting the money I need for potions, armor, weapons, and other costs. Is there a better way to make money other than selling tentacles and latex blobs?

Finally, is there a manual somewhere? I got the latest patreon version for the mega link posted two threads back, but I figure some of these can be answered with a manual that I don't have/can't find.
