I did a playthough, quite a few versions back, where I was as nice as could be.
To start with I created a perfect teacher, bath attendant, and bodyguard. The teacher and attendant were my only money making slaves.
The only girls I enslaved were ones that came to me looking for a better life, which I turned into servants to keep costs down.
My main source of income was just from expanding my archaeology and getting rent.

I've managed to create a system of separate scenes, find a game layout I like, can move between scenes, and save current place in story.

So basically I remade one small part of Twine's functionality. But I can allow backwards comparability with saves which is one of the main reasons I'm not using Twine so yay.

Different sovereign areas having different laws and customs. Yay or nay?

The pros I can think of is that in this way the world would be more diverse and therefore more worth exploring and that I can explore more themes in this way. The con is that the player won't be able to extrapolate what to expect in each planetary system from the time he spent familiarising themselves with another one and this increases the difficulty a bit. I'm talking about radically different systems of government, criminal punishment and such, not minute or arbitrary differencies.

I'm not sure how much of an issue that would be. Seems like the player could just consult the Galactic Travelers Guide and say "'Planet Z: Rape of adults is legal, the age of consent is 16.' Guess I'll be able to pick the rape option without getting in trouble with the law." Is there more to it than that? Will interacting with laws and customs be a huge part of gameplay somehow?

A core of basic actions and systems (such as a conversation system) and a periphery of fragmented mechanics consolidated into various mini-games covering any activity I could keep notes of until now. The basic idea I have going in and which propels me to spend time on this, is to create a world and leave the player to act in it with a degree of freedom that allows for them to improvise and fool around in ways I couldn't have imagined in order to script. This is also why it's going to be a pure text game without images.

Yes, though I really don't like the classic turn-based RPG system. Instead I'm trying to craft an (I guess) simulationist one going for full realism. To get an idea of what I'm going for consider this: In the classic RPG system, someone attacks you with a sword. Either he misses, or if he lands a hit you lose some HP according to the kind of attack, weapon, statuses, whether it was a critical hit etc.

What I'm fooling around with is this: someone attacks you with a sword, depending on your attributes you perceive the attack and have room to react accordingly, to counter it or evade it with moves that you have learned and then to move forward with your own attack, if you want to. If you don't react and it lands on your arm, you may get a scar, be in pain and lose blood, or you may lose an arm, more blood and maybe pass out. That's the general idea, anyway.

I have more or less every fetish except scat, watersports and furry. I may even entail mechanics for the first two for completionism's sake and even though they legitimately disgust me. Flags everywhere, though, so that the player can turn off whatever at the beginning or whenever he feels like it. There will never be any loli NPCs you can interact with added by me, as a legal precaution.

What more could there be to it? You break the laws, you get in trouble as the police will attempt to capture you, the judicial will try you and you will be condemned according to their criminal code. Customs will have to do with your reputation and your reputation only has to do with your normal interaction with NPCs.

As soon as I have the money to support it. I've only picked Paternalism so far and every time I do it boosts my reputation a lot because my slaves are usually pretty decent quality. It's been the only method I've found for my Arcologies that let me offset the reputation hit of training up a bunch of new slaves.

The first decision you're going to want to make is what you're after to start with. Getting everything to start with is beyond usual starting funds, so basically choose female or male cows. Boost up the relevant production bits, offset by making 'em less attractive, super-skinny, and if you're willing to gamble some, unhealthy and stupid.

If you do that last one, have the cows all rest up on curatives and come to a healthy weight while the random slaves and you work on getting money... if in different ways.

Even if you don't do full-in start, so to speak, get the cows up a level or two of trust and devotion by rules and work before you put 'em in the dairy. It can help. If you want to then expand fast, get the harnesses, but otherwise slowly save up until you have the other stuff that adds value (feeding first, then gender relevant stuff, then other gender stuff if you're going to diversify later on) and only put in harnesses if you get a lot of cows at once or have the other money making stuff in place.

Now, if you're going full industrial, harnesses first, health and weight up, and just slap 'em in, either pre-gaping 'em or just lowering the settings occasionally to put new bodies in.

Reputation is won through your branded slave's public assignments (less for brothel work, more for public sluttery) and for keeping a fucktoy. You need reputation to unlock policies, new slave vendors and other stuff.

The game also has an internal encyclopedia explaining most of everything you'd need to know. Plus it has some very enjoyable entries.
