In any scenario, whether it's writing/roleplay/video I usually don't apply the time scaling to -that- extreme of an extent for a more average giant scale, but I will start to apply it when we get into the mega/giga ranges. Let me give you an authors perspective,
1) There are infinitely more ways to be cruel than nice. Pure lovey snuggle crap gets stale fast.
2) Because fictional narratives require a conflict to remain engaging. If nothing bad happens, the story falls flat, there's no meaningful character growth, and no amount of comfy cuddly snuggles will save the audience from boredom.
3) At least on giantessworld, the most influential authors to date are all extremely sadistic, as are the moderators, and to some extent the guy who founded the website.
4) Compared to crafting a believable romantic relationship, a murder or unaware scenario is a lot easier to write.
5) In my experience, the overwhelming majority of people in this community lie on gradient between gentle and cruel; able to appreciate both sides to a certain personal extent. Pure gentlefags on the other hand throw a fit and abandon the story if the MC suffers so much as a scratch because of 'muh feels' type bullshit. So why bother appeasing them when you can take the middle ground and produce an overall superior story that more people will like?

It's another aspect to juggle, as I believe not only physical scale, but also time scale changes exponentially with size. It makes humanistic interaction much more awkward, neither party can interact 'normally' - but it makes sense as a thought experiment.

In general, small creatures have fast metabolisms, quick reflexes and short lifespans - whereas larger creatures have slow metabolic rates, sluggish movement and long lifespans. It could be argued that large and small creatures have a similar experience of life, just at differing rates, and you could apply this to giant / tiny humans (ignoring the obvious sq-cube implausibility).
In addition, I don't believe that physics would change to accomodate a giant human, for example if he/she was walking at 'normal' speed, it would be like walking in low gravity (on the moon, etc) as gravity has a fixed rate. If this giant's movements were slowed down proportional to their size ratio, gravity would still behave realistically both from their perspective and that of normal size people too (like when miniature sfx are filmed in slow-mo).

Yes. I have a Gear VR and have found tons of content for HMD's. Just search for terms you normally would but in Youtube's 360 video section of their app. Also, if you can bear 3DPD (i can) than most POV, teasing and other close-up or fish eye lens videos can be pretty great. I'm partial to ass worship videos where it just takes a close up view of a qt's butt. Even pictures are better if you download a decent SBS image viewer (there are lots).

Just remember that Cardboard is like the demo to the real VR experience. A headband and better ergonomics makes a world of difference.

Just a heads up for future reference, since I see this happen a decent amount. 3/5 of MM#22 had already been translated in the past (although granted, not the last story that was initially requested). I'm pretty sure it was dsojourn, though not positive, he's done a ton of random stories from various MMs over the past few years I feel like.
