Otfags like /tv/ or RLM are absolute cancer. They all hate Star Wars, but will unironically defend their position as a "true fan of the originals". Unfortunately, they're not even that. All OTfags are just TESBfags. They'll say ROTJ is garbage and "foreshadowed how bad the prequels will be", or that ANH was nothing extraordinary. In fact, the only Star Wars movie these people seem to enjoy outside of TESB is TFA, but that's just happened recently. Outside of that, they've acted the same since the film's release in 1980.

They dominate online Star Wars discussion boards. /swco/ is the only place someone can talk about Lucas or the PT positively, and even then these people raid the threads and act like they're being ousted for their "unique" opinion.

But worst of all is the damage its done to Star Wars. Not even 10 years ago, no one really hated the PT. They may not have liked it, but no one claimed Lucas raped their childhood or thought that death threats to Lucas were a justified reaction to the films. Then people like RLM come along and spout the same rhetoric day in and day out, tarnishing the PT's reputation with lies about its production, exaggerations if Lucas's control, and so on and so on. It's gotten to the point that when introducing people to Star Wars, they don't want to see the PT because "they heard it sucks". Its gotten so bad, that all the complaints were a major reason to why Lucas sold. Its gotten so bad, we got The Force Awakens.

Why so many people have such a horrible tunnel vision about Star Wars? To the point when they dont enjoy anything, besides the OT.

Much of EU was fucking dumb, but I loved most of it, either for actual quality or campiness of it.
A lot of the prequels were garbage, but when you pass the garbage parts, there's so much good stuff there.
TFA was pandering and leaned on the lead character way too much, but it was fun and enjoyable and the ST still holds a lot of promise to me for expanding the cnew canon in an enjoyable way.
RO was just on the money for me, except one or two completely pointless cameos.
While I have a lot of problems with the new canon, it has a lot of gems I do enjoy.
Hell, even TCW and Rebels, both of which I kinda hate, I have to admit that most of it just a personal bias and objectively both shows are quite good.

So why people who claim to love SW, love to hate on SW so much?

Why not show the Jedi not adapting well to war, especially given the fact that they are fighting it along side a functional slave race of men born to die? George has admitted as much. He said himself that TPM was 10% of the story, Anakin leaving his mom and becoming a Jedi, everything else outside the bare bones foreshadowing of the coming political plot was padding. AOTC was another 10%, Anakin falling in love and the war starting. But practically all the meat of the Anakin story was left to ROTS, and the rest of the movie had to be cut back significantly to accommodate.

I felt like AOTC would have been a perfect time to have the Jedi really discuss what exactly their political ideals were and what their history was, but instead we got what you said, googly eyes. Which is why Lucas had to create TCW to fill in the gap.

Don't get me wrong, I love the mystery plot with Obi-Wan and the idea of Sidious manipulating the whole conflict in order to gain power. The broad strokes of AOTC are brilliant, but the details are not so good.

Again, ESB has some bad dialog from Han and Leia because at that point bother were basically done with the project, but other than the second line which is admittedly bad, all the other ones you posted are fondly remembered because they adequately capture the moment they're uttered as well as the characters speaking them.

I'll admit I didn't phrase what I meant well. I know he has admitted that, but there is a lot of meat in AOTC as far as Sidious being behind the Clone Army and Clone Wars in general; playing both sides. So my question is, was this something that just popped in his head and he ran with it, or were there other ideas that he toyed around with before landing on what we saw on screen.

I always pictured Anakin becoming Vader piece by piece rather than all at once. The way he's dismembered/burned and then The Emperor just has the Vader suit laying around in Revenge of the Sith always felt weird to me. The way Obi-Wan said he was seduced by the dark side and then called him "more machine than man" gave me the impression that Anakin would be replacing his limbs and shit with cybernetic ones as he gradually fell to the dark side simultaneously, with his loss of humanity being literal in a way. And by the time Obi-Wan confronts him and they duel, he's got a sort of proto-Vader suit which is mostly just the suit without the helmet, but after Mustafar he has to wear the helmet and whatever breathing apparatus he needs.

I also think the prequels would've been better suited as 1 film rather than a trilogy but I won't get into that since last time I explained why I thought this I just got 1 response calling me a RLM shill.
