Everyone keeps sharing that Kirby quote about him saying he punched Nazis but there's actually a much better one where he says in the war, he tried speaking to the enemies, telling them they didn't really believe in this crap, that they were just throwing their lives away, but they all said "No, we really believe it!" because they were fully indoctrinated. I think there could be an interesting story there and King's experience with war stories would lend itself well to that kind of thing.
