so excited.
Good to know that mediocre escapism will never die
>>94175755
Just the Pixar films I'm exited for really.
>>94175755
I'm excited for the Han Solo movie and The Lion King, Favreau did a great job with the new Jungle Book, I'm excited to see what he does with The Lion King.
>incredibles 2
>toy story 4
>lion king
Just these I'd watch upon premiere date.
I notice that there isn't much original projects and majority are MCU, sequels, & remakes.
>>94175755
The only original films in the next two-and-a-half years are Coco (a Pixar feature that is already dependent on Frozen floaties to perform well), A Wrinkle in Time (which will likely have lukewarm reception or just flat-out bomb), & The Nutcracker & the Four Realms.
We are entering the Disney Lost Ages...
>>94177227
>Coco
>Original
but yeah, disney's so called "revival" era, came to an end.
>>94175755
>DisneyToon Studios Untitled
What could that be?
>>94177269
Original as in not done by Disney.
Although there was a made-for-tv adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time that aired on ABC back in like 2004.
>>94177227
>The Nutcracker & the Four Realms
Isn't that a sequel to The Nutcracker?
>>94177227
Does a wrinkle in time count as original? It's based off a book
Even Sony has more artistic integrity
>>94177286
Planes but in Space
The teaser footage was of a spaceship entering orbit, so it'll likely be Rockets. Damn shame it isn't trains so we would have Planes, Trains, & Automobiles or boats so Disney would have land, sea, & sky modes of transportation covered.
>>94177286
Planes in SPAAAACE
>>94177341
elaborate.
>>94175755
I'm looking forward to
>Frozen 2
>Incredibles 2
>WiR 2
> SW: TLJ
Also tentatively excited about
>A Wrinkle in Time
>>94177227
>A Wrinkle in Time
>original
Do you also count the Harry Potter and LOTR films as original movies, or something
>>94177341
t. Bloodborne player.
>>94177227
Gigantic is coming in 2020 and they just had Moana though, they're just shoving the sequels out in a bundle I guess
>>94177313
>>94177316
>>94177450
Hey, we're pretty desperate for original material here. And hell at least half of all films made were based off of a book.
We're desperate enough to count A Wrinkle in Time as original despite it kind of being a remake/reboot. For fuck's sake Disney's right on the DVD cover!
>>94175755
Is Disney's goal to over saturate the market with their big movies until no other studio has a chance?
>>94177518
Who knows what Walt Disney Animation Studios is up to. They clearly have fucked up their Jack & the Beanstalk feature film (it was supposed to be released on Moana's release date) & we have no idea what they have planned afterwards.
>>94177551
resistance is futile.
>>94177551
You just described the theatrical film market as of now. No studio wants to waste time, money, or marketing on a rom-com. It's either go big with blockbusters that are practically guaranteed a profit or fuck off.
>>94177551
Eventually they'll run out of classic cartoons to remake into live action and then the company will go bankrupt.
>>94177751
they'll make sequels to their recent original features.
>>94177780
And then remakes of their remakes.
It happened to The Jungle Book, it's gonna happen again with 101 Dalmatians.
>>94177536
Wait, there's already a Wrinkle in Time movie? How did I not know about this?Is it garbage? It's probably garbage.
>>94178355
next they'll but that studio that makes ambitious, profitable movies and force them to do sequels.
rinse and repeat.
>>94178553
The author of the novel pretty much called it garbage.
>>94175755
How along until we get two Star Wars movies a year?
>Disneytoon
WHATS THIS???
>>94175755
Carol!
>>94178675
I feel like cinematic releases are soon to be considered a novelty experience. Movie tickets are often upwards of $10, the concessions are inflated, the wait in line sucks, the seats aren't comfy, the trailers are a waste of time, other people stink & disrupt, & you can't rewind to rehear a part again. Watching movies at home just makes more sense.
>>94175755
>>>/tv/
Fuck off and don't come back, D*sney shill.
>>94178937
The Studio that brought you The Tigger Movie, the Fox and the Hound 2, & Disney's Planes
>>94178968
The all lowercase suggests they were being sarcastic. Also, those movies are mostly animated or comic book movies. Fair enough for /co/ discussion
>>94178968
it was sarcasm you dolt.
>>94178988
Oh...so some straight to DVD bullshit. Gotcha. Man. That's sad.
>>94179174
their boss didnt want to fire rest of them so instead of sequels they make Cars spinoffs.
sequels, spinoffs, what's the difference?
>there are people excited for the Han Solo movie
>there are people excited for the Han Solo movie after Phil Lord and Chris Miller got fired halfway through production
>there are people excited to watch a prequel about the character who had the most intrigue and his appeal was that he was a mysterious bad boy
fucking christ

>Coco is literally the only thing that even resembles a wholly original idea
Incredibles gets a pass because DUH.
But holy shit. We have to wait until 2020 for even the CHANCE of an original idea.
>>94175755
YONDU RESURRECTION CONFIRMED!
>>94175755
>the best movie depicted in this picture will be mediocre at very best
Makes you think
>>94179707
> a wholly original idea
ahem.
>>94179786
uhhh.. which one?
/pol/ warned you faggots
but ohhhh noooo, racists are meanie poopyheads who can't possibly have a point
Hope you like it kosher for the next 50 years
>>94175755
>sequals
>capeshit
>live action remakes
>Star Wars
we've entered the darkest timeline
>>94179811
Reminder that Book of Life will fall into obscurity, only to be remembered by film students and "TOP 10 ANIMATED FILMS YOU FORGOT" clickbait lists, while Coco will make the same amount as Book of Life in its opening weekend and be remembered for decades to come.
Im only excited for incredibles 2 and infinity war. Toy story ended with 3. Toya story 4 is milking the franchise
I've never bothered to watch the star wars franchise.
Still hoping for Gigantic though. It gonna be the best musical of 2020
>>94179844What?
>>94180255
Gigantic is so far a gigantic mess. The film was slated to be released for Christmas /of last year/, was officially announced at D23 2015 with a panel & magnificent exhibition display, yet nary a peep of news at the most recent D23.
I mean, seriously, no updates since 2015 beyond the premiere date being pushed back the upteenth time. There's some serious behind-the-scenes fuckery going on here...
