Lots of rad designs and sci-fi concepts.

So anyone seen it?

I liked the comics but the story there was quite complex, this has the title remniscent of one book 'Empire of a thousand planets', but the story seems to be taken primarily from 'ambassador of the shadows', which takes place on a grand space station where a ton of different species reside in their own areas and where Valerian and Laureline are trying to find a kidnapped ambassador.

Looking at the trailers it seems like a giant mess, someone willing to shed some light ?

Has Laureline's origin been retconned? Genuinely interested since it seems there seems to be no hint at the element of time travel in the trailers.

Laureline being from mediaval time and having been changed in an unicorn is in a comic numbered as Zero, making it barely canon even in the comic books series itself.

But I doubt time travel is absent from the movie as keeping the timeflow safe is literally the Job description of Valerian.
