Because many writers view the mantra, "Being Peter Parker is suffering" and implement that into the heart of their stories. Out of all of the Marvel heroes I feel like he has to put up with the most garbage and that's part of the reason why Nick Fury is in awe of him. In spite of all of the horrible events that happened to him Peter is still doing his best to be the hero he thinks he can be. It's tragically inspiring.

Even though this story exists, I still consider the game canon for the following reasons.
1. It came out first.
2. It kept Bagley's art style.
3. It was written by the author of the main series.
4. It was better written than what we're getting.

It's interesting how Peter and Eddie drastically differ with regards to their thoughts on "the suit". Peter sees it as a curse and will do anything to rid himself of it whereas Eddie is psychologically addicted to it because it prevents him from being truly alone as well as serving as a reminder of his father.

As enjoyable as I found the previous page, I preferred it when Venom trounced Beetle in the game. Having Venom get one-shot like this is fucking insulting and just as bad as Miles' venom blasts. In hindsight, it's seems like a common trope of Bendis wherein he builds up this major threat and then throws it in the garbage in teh span of a page or two.

And thus this storyline comes to a close. I'll see about posting more Ultimate Spidey tomorrow or some other batch of symbiote stories. Hope everyone has a good night sleep and a fantastic day tomorrow.

This was great OP. I really like the Ultimate aesthetic of the Symbiotes as well. A really meaty look, almost resident evil-esque. I'm not a huge fan of the sheer liquid look of Venom, and I really liked the look of the Symbiote in Spiderman 3 for it.

It's for that very reason that I consider the Ultimate Spider-Man game to be the definitive ending for the symbiote saga. Eddie gets full control of the suit and ends up peacing out to do his own thing.
