Read the description. The idea of PB and Marcy had a past relationship was created by both Rebecca Sugar AND Adam Muto. Neither denied the existence of bubbline all they said was that Mathematical interpreted possible subtext and declared it as objective text. All we ever got in WWM was subtext, with the past relationship being broken or lovers left up to the viewer to decide.

In my opinion they were going for something outside the box to get the win.

Look at the past episodes they've sent to the Emmys: It Came from the Nightosphere, Too Young, Simon and Marcy, episodes that were more emotional and sad and "deep" and that shit, but none of them won. In fact the only AT episode that has won was something as strange as Jake the Brick, an episode just about Jake narrating the journey of some random bunny while everyone else listens. Not exactly what you would expect Emmy judges to be swayed by, but it worked.

I'd imagine that they're trying the same thing here, use an episode that's weird and interesting and outside of the box to get the judges to vote for them. I'd love if it works, Imaginary Resources was great.
