This scene has never made me tear up. What does that tell you?
>Everyone scrambling to get on the last helicopter
>Mr. Hyunh holds up his daughter
>Everyone stops fighting and gives up their space to help a stranger's baby get to safety
I fucking love random nameless characters showing their humanity instead of just acting like a stupid mob.
>>93652226
>What does that tell you?
That the scene never made you tear up.
>>93652108
Yeah that was sad but this one got me. Iroh was best dad.

unironically this
>>93652108
Does a series count? Because New X-Men to X-Force counts for me. Mainly because you see a group of semi-happy kids getting fucked over and having their lives destroyed by hatred is pretty tragic.
Ashi disappearing. Although I was more livid than sad.
Season 3 has plenty of moments. Specially Numb, and Alone.
https://youtu.be/anck-AqrZ24
This show had a lot of death and tragedy but damn this scene basically marked the beginning of the end and what could have been.
I was seriously not expecting to tear up from fucking Futurama when I first saw this.
>>93653828
This episode made me weep like a child.
>>93652108
>Orel's dad shoots him in the leg
>Asks for his dad to get disinfectant from his first aid bag
>Dad's only thought is anger that his son brought the first aid kit
>Grabs disinfectant and acts like he's going to pour it on before drinking it right in front of Orel's face
>Orel gives him a stone cold glare and says "I hate you."
>His dad doesn't give a shit and passes out
>Orel is totally emotionless as he full on shoots a bear just to protect his worthless dad
>Sits there still wounded until his dad wakes up in the morning, who then asks Orel to cover his face
>Orel obeys and waits what looks like 2 more days
>Dad finally wakes up and takes him to a doctor that "will keep quiet"
>Orel walks with a limp for the rest of the show
That episode fucked me up.

Game of Tones and Luck of the Fryrish both got me right at the end.
>>93653828
I'm glad there was the scene when fry pets him when he's back at his time.

>>93652186
Yeah...
I'm glad they didn't screw up with this one, because it was a story many waited for years to happen.
>>93653828
And not only this episode, Futurama is full of emotional moments.
As a kid I remember crying at the end of Luck of the Fryish and The Tale of Iroh.
Don't remember if I cried at the end of Jurassic Bark or not.
More recently, I teared up at the end of Samurai Jack and while I didn't tear up at the end of Legend of Korra, I ended up crying into my pillow later that night because of it.

the end of nurse bendy's story in Alone hit me pretty hard
>>93652447
Every time it gets me.
The opening to Oliver and Company is the saddest fucking thing in existence. I have never been able to watch it without tearing up.
>Siblings all adopted
>Nobody would even take him for free
>Left alone in the rain to die
>Only place to call home disintegrated
>Almost drowns in a sewer and is chased by dogs
>Cold, wet, alone and visibly shaken, terrified out of his mind
I mean Jesus fuck. This is the first 3 minutes. Someone get this kitten a hug.
That montage during Islands with Finn being born and with his family. It was very beautiful and touching
>>93652259
My brother
>>93655147
I miss him...
Was really uncomfortable during this whole special, reminded me way too much of my childhood. Drunk dads swinging around loaded guns threatening everyone and all. Not gonna lie though I'm pretty sure Clay was a better father than mine was.
This. Every time this.

>"i was never angry with you. I was sad. Because i was afraif you'd lost your way"
>"i did lose my way"

That relationship is still one of my favourite from any media.

>Firstly, we must all pray for grace! Dear Lord in Godland, bless this mess of delicious food and thank you kindly for keeping our joyous family together under this one love-filled roof! We all need people who aren't mean to me or that don't act like they care about doing dirty, awful things to you. We need family because they care that I'm a real person who has thoughts of sadness, sometimes, along with happy thoughts or scared or aloneness thoughts. I feel thoughts of emotions and I need people to know that. So, thank you for keeping this family in good... shape. The end for now, while we eat, signed, my family. Wow. My eye is really sweating up a storm here.
Even though this sort of thing happens with her constantly, this one in particular stood out to me
>>93659779
Every time in Courage when that one sad song plays (you damn well know the one) it's always gut-wrenching.
>Who are you, boy?
>>93664306
>Where's your hat?
Seriously though, that song is one of the most tear-inducing pieces of music I've heard. Even in scenes that aren't that sad, it makes me want to cry.

I've watched every step, every struggle, I... but, Van, I, oh, Rao help me.. but I don't think you're real. I don't think any of this is real.
>Don't say that, Daddy! Please, you're scaring me.
>No, no, I don't want to scare you, Van. You are everything I ever wanted in a son. This... this is everything I ever wanted in a life. But I've got responsibilities, Van. And I... . have to go now...

Eustace is one of the few comedic jerks I've seen in cartoons who actually has an excuse for being the way he is. Hell, if he'd been born in the 90s he'd be in /r9k/
>loveless family
>mother who despises and ridicules everything you do
>absent father
>big brother picks on you constantly
>try to get close to him only for him to mock you relentlessly and convince you that you're useless
>you really are a talentless prick who can't even try to be tolerable because of your shitty upbringing
The only thing that distances him from there is that he actually is married but that kind of makes it somehow worse
>finally get married to the most comprehensive and kindest women to ever live
>your shitty personality keeps pushing her away; she's only with you because she's unnaturally nice and sticks with you anyway

Homer had some really sad lines in this episode too
>Homer: First, it wasn't 25 years, it was 27 years. And second, she had a very good reason.
>Marge: Which was...?
>Homer: [pause] I dunno. I guess I was just a horrible son and no mother would want me.
>I thought I dreamed that kiss
Homer remembering exactly how many years his mother has been gone when earlier in the episode, he forgot Maggie existed, just emphasized how badly he missed her
>>93670544
>absent father
I thought he died
>>93670814
Whether he walked out or he died, he still grew up in a home without a father.
>>93670544
I just remembered that whatever episode had "I'm not useless, I'm Eustace" in it made me tear up as a kid. I haven't seen it in a while, but that line always stuck out to me.
>>93655415
This whole movie is kind of a tearjerker. Poor Oliver just keeps getting kicked around and thrust into frightening situations he can't control.
---
Something that recently popped into my head is that scene from Monsters Inc where Sully scares the shit out of Boo. The music in that scene always made me teary.
>>93670920
>I just remembered that whatever episode had "I'm not useless, I'm Eustace" in it made me tear up as a kid. I haven't seen it in a while, but that line always stuck out to me.
Same episode when Eustace wanted to go hunting with his brother and he just mocked him.

What series?
>Friend...good...friend...dark. I...am...hurt.
Rampage's bellow of grief chokes me up every time. The only living thing he felt any affection for and he ends up being responsible for it's death.
>>93652108
Not meme-ing. The final episode of Samurai Jack.
Not because of trashwaifu dying, but that last shot, that ending music, and that feeling of actually seeing Jack's journey end hit me in the sentiment bone hard.
>>93672188
I mean... even if the whole Ashi shit never happened, a "Jack gets back to the past and triumphs over Aku" ending would always be a little tainted by the knowledge that everything in the future effectively ceased to exist.
I guess... having Ashi disappear made that consequence more "in your face" so to speak? I'm not saying that was a good decision, mind you.

>anthropomorphic objects getting destroyed/abused
I will never get over how much that bugs me. I know it's not healthy to attach emotions to inanimate objects, but it's one of the main reasons I tend to keep appliances way longer than most, and I tend to spend way more repairing items even if the return on investment is less than just replacing themI also tend to praise my car or old machine/tools when they work for me. I still do maintenance on all of it but I like to think the praise is why they still keep going despite their age
>>93653828

SUPERMAAAAAAAN.
seriously though, I like to think of this as an elseworlds story. somewhere out there on earth XXXXX Krypton sent a war machine that later became our greatest protector. Hogar goes through a jimmy olson phase, then becomes batman, basing all his gadgets off iron giant tech.
>>93680954
>>93681692
Superman has always had a problem with being the child of two worlds. In this version of reality, he's not. Dogs don't exist on krypton, yet not only does he have one, but his childhood crush is his kryptonian wife, his father bears a striking resemblance to his human father in mannerisms, and he's a farmer, a man of no responsibilities, who is no one's hero. This is everything he could ever want; to be just another man and not have to choose between his past and his present.
Superman's greatest dream, the one thing he could ever ask for would be to never have been Superman, and the fact that he had to wake up to be all he never wanted is heartbreaking.

>they expected us to be surprised when it turns out that Hermes, who's normally the least important member of the main cast but is suddenly given major screentime, turns out to be inspector 5
Not to mention that we already saw Bender's "birth" at least once. I'm not a stickler for continuity in cartoons but rewriting backstories to fit single episode plots is reaching modern Family Guy levels of hackery.

I replayed that scene starting at her INNOCENTS reply like a million times

Young Justice is one of the only shows I've ever watched to get me to care about the characters. Both times Artemis "died" my first thoughts were "fuck Wally can't lose his waifu it's not fair" and then he ends up being the one who "dies" in the end.
I was expecting Barry to get lost in the speed force, and Wally would have to take up his mantle. This is the first time I actually want a charcter to not actually be dead.
He has to come back in season 3, its not fair
https://youtu.be/O3HhHxpPQjcThis is what defines Batman for me. He needs to be human.
>no Mary and Max
fine, fuck you
Mary and Max's ending
Also the final showdown in Paranorman had me feeling like ass

It really was the turning point for him I think... his faith in the Jedi order was broken when she left. The entirety of Clone Wars really fleshed out that gap between AotC and RotS, and makes me appreciate Ep3 a little more. Before it just seemed like he turned so quickly and for little reason. After watching him lose herror though... it all made so much more sense.

So you like hamfisted drama and poorly written characters. No wonder tumblr likes this shit.

>For how short it was it had so many tragic plotlines going on at once.
Yeah that's the problem. They tried to cram in too much in a given time and it wasn't nearly sd effective, in fact I think the only reason people dick ride Magnetic Rose was because it was Satoshi Kon's anime debut than anything else
>Too bad it's poignant haunting story was followed immediately in the anthology by a slapstick comedy about a guy who smells bad.
And its no surprise that the people who praise Magnetic Rose as "too good" for this collection shit on Stink Bomb forgetting the haunting undertone of it all that's being played for laughs which is much more effective than Magnetic Rose.

I was genuinely touched by a lot of the ATLA moments, but this one actually made me tear up the first time I saw it. Something about the tragic buildup, her cold mission, and finally when she freezes the rain and screamsME!and nearly gives into her rage. Fuck, I dunno. It just got me.

Any moment Homer sticks up for family or generally shows he isn't just a mentally stunted bumbling selfish manchild.
My favorite is the time Homer threatens Gladwell with a mini nuclear reactor he made for Lisa's science fair when Gladwell robs Bart blind and is rubbing it in his face.
Or when he fully supported one of Marge's sisters when she came out to the family... and Marge was full tilt homophobic, and he HATES his sisters in-law.

I probably would of liked stink bomb had I not watched it immediately after Magnetic Rose. It would be like watching "Bill & Ted" right after "The Thing". The transition from tragedy to comedy was so jarring it almost felt in poor taste somehow. Cannon Fodder was top notch though. I feel like the order shown should of gone stink bomb->cannon fodder->Magnetic rose that way it would start funny and end tragic instead of jumping around.
Also I've seldom seen Magnetic Rose even mentioned anywhere much less enough to feel like people are dick riding it. I'm not even really a fan of Satoshi Kon I just thoroughly enjoyed the concepts, storytelling and animation all around. I even felt the pacing was nice.
It's as close to perfect as I've seen in anything animated and is one of the few pieces of animation that got genuinely emotional for me.
I never asked for this. My eyes didn't ask for this. My souls didn't ask for this. My feels didn't ask for this

No you're not. That episode left me feeling heartbroken for a week.
This whole thing in One Piece was the most recent thing that made me choked up
Even though I saw it in the manga before it still got to me in the anime.

Maes' death got me, too.
Watched it with my college buddies and after that episode ended we all sat in silence.
I guess up until that point, all deaths in the anime we'd watched were drawn out shounen garbage of people bleeding out two humans' worth of blood and still fighting. Maes just gets shot and bleeds out immediately, dies by himself in a damn phonebooth and his family doesn't find out until much later.

yall know he lives, right?

if it was anime, he'd stay dead.

I like the fact that they got TCW Anakin to come in and voice him one last time. That was so cool.

idk man, maybe it's just me but I feel if nox made his intentions clear from the get-go, everyone would have gotten off easier. Nox would have been given the wakfu for an attempt, only for him to realize the cube was basically useless to him, commence sulk or whatever, and a nation wouldn't have to have been endangered in his plan, downside being that the world is aware of the cube and it's powers early.
This isn't a sad one. I just find Akko's moment here of realizing how truly powerful belief is to be moving. It's one of my favorite motifs when done right and not hammy.
