The way it stands Marvel being cool with normies could possibly keep some kids buying books to a point in which they do it out of habit, like many of us who buy floppies currently. Marvel flopping would fizzle that excitement and interest and the number of kids that choose to keep up with the comics up to the point its their money instead of their parents money being spent would be drastically lower.

Right now I'm at the point many of my friends have young children and MANY of them love the avengers and of course the trinity. Almost all of them have a favorite super-hero, something their parents, my friends, know very little about outside of the movies. It's pretty cool seeing a generation of kids that love it. But that, as much as it pains me to say, is still based off of their normie parents knowing that Marvel exists and that they can buy their kid that shit.
