I used to draw comics when I was younger.
I used to have some on the internet. (I shut down my deviantart a long time ago).

I'm a film student. I write, on occasion. I abandoned everything I was good at and for years I've been sitting around watching other people make something out of themselves.

It was only recently when I did an animation project for one of my elective classes that I realized I didn't lose my ability to draw. And so I decided to pick up a comic strip that I abandoned years ago.

The problem is, for every panel and page I do, it is causing me pain. Mental pain. If this is what I want to do in my life, then why does it hurt to do it?

If this is what I was meant to do, then why does it hurt the more work I finish? Shouldn't this be easier if it's my purpose?

Your standards got higher since you were younger. Either lower them or raise your abilities.
>>
stop feeling sorry about yourself and keep doing shit, do you want to end like Andrew Dobson?
>>
>>93376696
No, I certainly don't want to be like Dobby.
And I still have time.
>>
>>93375980
That's deep anon, also you either need more practical training or aren't drawing something you actually like? Art isn't supposed to be fun, that's why it's called pain-ting, show some art so we can point you in a direction if your serious, better here than fucking /ic/
>>
The first creative thing I ever did on the internet was write creepypasta.

I googled it once, years after forgetting about it, just to see if there was a hit. Apparently somebody read it on their youtube channel and it has huge numbers of hits.
>>
I'm in the same boat except I abandoned my skills long ago.

It frustrates me to do anything because my hands can no longer keep up with my mind. I can never create anything that I'm proud of because I let my skill atrophy. And because drawing has become so painful, I rarely do it. And thus my skill atrophies even more.

I've given up to be honest. It's sad because I was legitimately talented. I made art that even impressed me when I was in high school. I got a lot of cool opportunities around then because of it.

Now I'm living on my parents money, waiting for life to cut me a break and give me something good. I know that the good life only comes from luck, so I see no point in trying. Trying never got anyone anywhere except dead and alone like the rest of us.

I'm so tired. So, so tired.

I used to do anal fucking when I was younger.
I used to have some on the internet. (I shut down my pornhub account a long time ago).

I'm a certified cocksucker. I blow cocks, on occasion. I abandoned everything I was good at and for years I've been sucking and getting fucked around watching other bois make something out of their assholes.

It was only recently when I did an gay porno for one of my elective black guys that I realized I didn't lose my ability to blow cocks. And so I decided to pick up some guys cock that I abandoned years ago.

The problem is, for every suck and lick I do, it is causing me pain. Anal pain. If this is what I want to do in my life, then why does it hurt to do my asshole.

If this is what I was meant to do, then why does it hurt the more I get fisted and cummed on? Shouldn't this be easier if it's my purpose to be a giant faggot.

It's really late to scan anything tonight, but here is the animation project I recently finished.

The fuck am I, your shrink?
>>
>>93377195
That animation makes it kinda hard to tell where you are to be honest, maybe post a picture of where you would like to be or think you should be
>>
My greatest fear is that I'll grow to be a pretentious, castrated cuck who's angry over the shit they brought upon themselves by not thinking ahead when they were younger, who constantly tries and fails to express their mid-life crisis in either stupidly abstract, or pathetically mediocre ways, because they lack the skill to illustrate their ideas properly.

Forever spinning into redundancy, drinking my liver into submission; all the way swearing on my mother's life that I'm a visionary and everyone else is the problem, constantly looking for someone to blame until I snap and attempt a mass-shooting.

Is this the psychoanalysis thread?

Right now I'm about to graduate and I'm just some guy in my room.

I know if I want to be drawing and animating, I'd like to get a paying job somewhere on the ladder.

I'd like to make works that people think about, and enjoy. I don't know about mainstream success, because that kind of thing brings trouble.
I just want to figure out how to get a start fast.

this will get rid of frustration http://www.storytellerartist.com/documents/Perspective_Made_Easy.pdf
go through it until you can draw a 3 dimensional cube and cylinder toward any vanishing point from any eye-level, it's crucial for putting life into your drawings, then go through this after or at the same time

from my experience learning figure drawing from a teacher rather than a loomis book or something is more practical as you can see how a pro applies the basic concepts and proko is really legit though a little autistic. Then go through this for construction of the human form

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtG4P3lq8RHFBeVaruf2JjyQmZJH4__Zv

learning the skeleton and its landmarks like the sternum, pelvis, shoulder clavicle, pubis, ect.. is arguably more important than obsessing over muscles, if you can master the skeleton and apply it to figure and gesture drawing your competence will be greatly boosted for drawing from imagination. After that apply what you learned to maybe a character you like, you can use reference for the poses at first, and then start inventing with your knowledge of landmarks and gesture, its easier to pose a character if they're doing something specific, don't frustrate yourself by trying to force out a picture, have an idea first. And if your drawing cartoons DRAW it the way its shown, don't try to invent a style, style is just how an artist simplifies something, the more you practice things like landmarks, construction, and foreshortening the more validity you'll have to think up your own simplification, also don't fall for fucking porn, it''l just trick you into doing things like drawing a cartoon head on a disproportionate body. just a little advice, you'll do whatever you want in the end.

Wow this looks helpful. I see that image all the time that says what to practix3 to get different mastery levels but this is more helpful thank you (:

no problem, its a cartoonist/animator path, take your time with perspective and construction if you're serious.

Maybe it's that you're no longer a selfish child, but an altruistic adult. And you're experiencing a dissonance between your selfless nature, and the fact that by doing this you're just self-imposing an identity that nobody asked you to be.
And it's feels meaningless, being altruistic, there needs to be a demand for you, otherwise it's just selfish.
