>PART 9 - THE RISE OF COBRA (NOT THAT ONE)
We've seen the first stages of the Transformers' war on Earth. We've seen how G.I. Joe were formed, and their battle against the man called Chimera. And now, we're going to see how they first encountered the worldwide conspiracy known as Cobra.

Now, I warn you - as per the norm for G.I. Joe fiction, the Joes are FRIGHTFULLY dull, especially the Scarlett love triangle; I don't know why Dixon thought that was a good idea. However, the Cobras more than make up for it, because they're all assholes.
At least Girl-Tone is cute.
And here we meet Dixon's OC, who gets a bizarre amount of focus considering that he isn't even a self-insert.
Now we're getting to the good stuff!
Sir not-appearing-in-this-issue.
It's the obligatory Die Hard issue!
G.I. Joe vs. Snake Eyes! We all know how THAT'S gonna turn out.
Wooo! The thing with the mask! Except it's a full-body suit, this time, because it's not realistic enough that a Scottish noble would just choose to wear an iron face-mask.
A couple more Origins stories; the first one, here, is a Scarlett spotlight.
Next, the secret history of the other rogue Joe: Mainframe!
(Not to be confused with the Action Master.)
Apparently Grand Slam somehow survived this. Pity it wouldn't stop him getting shot again years later.
That's it for Mainframe for now, but he'll be back. Next time, we'll be starting on one of the best G.I. Joe comics of all time: Mike Costa's Cobra!
