The animation for OK GO doesn't look particularly good and most, if not all, of the hate mostly derives from the fact that people are just tired of the thin circular outlines and minimalist design that has become rampant.

That reminds me of how SU deals with their animating/storyboarding and, well, it's not a very good strategy.

It takes more than a good idea to get into the Japanese comics market. For one you have to know Japanese. If you have that down you may be able to get into one of the monthly magazines but you will probably have to change your style a lot because Empowered's art style is probably not going to get anyone's attention in Japan.

A lot of factors but mostly on the simple fact that 2013 was a whole different time from now. In 2013 Adventure Time has yet to officially hit it's peak and SU just came out as a simple slice of life show with a small fanbase and most people who didn't like it just ignored it.

Since then Adventure Time began going downhill fast, SU fandom grew to become one of the largest and loudest (which in turn forced people who hated it be louder themselves), that specific style got old to many people as more and more people emulated it, identity politics have become rampant in modern society in general causing people to go with extremes which led to the whole board in general just be more cynical. Even back at 2013 I never really cared for it, but to automatically hate it when it hasn't even released yet is just stupid.
