I don't think the other Watchmen characters will actually appear - at least not as active characters interacting with the DC crew. They might be part of flashbacks, but I don't think we'll see them somehow teaming up with Manhattan to face the Justice League.

Good comic book writers, even when writing meta stuff like Moore and Morrison did in the early days, obviously wrote looking out the window, at the real world and the real people in it. I know anon. At the time before the final reveal though, a Superman that hadn't died and had been corrupted by Darkseid only to be put down by the not-Society seemed like huge storytelling potential. Then we ended up getting the crappy bait and switch at the end of E2 proper, before the complete shit tier actual Superman death we got in World's End.
