I checked out the last thread and that cartoon issue was awful. Hard to believe anybody would still be interested in the book after all the filler. Kate issue were crap too, save the annual.

YAY!

You make a lot of sense.

Prof, how goes progress on your comic script?
>>92144262
It has taken a backseat because of all the grading I'm have to do. That said I've been working the issues on scratch paper and so far it's coming together. My biggest issue is that i'm still having trouble thinking visually within the story.
Something that not a lot of people realize is the most plausible action isn't always the most visually intersting. Also trying to minimize asspulls whenever possible and is so much easier said then done. I don't know how comic writers live with themselves. So many characters and devices are overpowered to such a degree that I feel like they could theoretically be the solution to 90% of problems. So I then have to find a way to "correct" for it without having it lose its main function. This is the reason I do not attempt to incorporate time travel, speedster (getting there), reality warpers, or mysticism because I feel like it it could "break" the consistency.
Final issue of Hawguy! Can't say this has been my favorite Fraction series but I can say I do enjoy it more the second time around. I may find Fraction's interpretation of Clint as embarassing, but Aja's layouts and linework keep me coming back to this as a means of "writing visually".
Good on you, Barney.
Switching to what I consider an underated set of series, Fraction's take on the Fantastic Four and Future Foundation. He's not entirely successful in what he sets out to achieve, but it was still far from awful. I'm going to be alternating issues assuming there's not major story spoilers.
While I enjoy both sets of adventures, I feel FF is the stronger of the two series. Allred kills it on art (I cannot stop ogling their costumes) and the cast is more dynamic (Scott as much more loveable here than in Spencer's series).
First time I ddidn't want to smack Val.
Love that Scott is tinkering with what Reed calls "Big Science". I feel like Spencer forgot about that and just had Scott regress to MCU Ant Man. Which isn't to say he's not a fun character, but Avengers Vol. 3 Scott Lang was NOT like Spencer's incarnation (unless I'm just really misremembering).

damn that jessica in the last panel
>Allred She-Hulk
Alright. Alright. Alright.
Great page
I appreciate what Fraction tried to do with Scott even if it didn't stick. It's interesting to see what had been planned ahead for him since he was brought back at the end of Children's Crusade but it all get swept under the rug for MCU synergy. Also the fact that he can understand the science/charts on the wall makes me happy. That was an oppurtunity for a quick and easy joke and I'm glad Fraction didn't take the bait by having him say, "Reed, I'm smart...but not THAT smart. What's it mean?".

Are you kidding? That's it? Way to write some lame villains, Fraction.

In reality I should I have expected this. The series represented a set of "smaller" more personal stories so it wasn't likely he was going to go up against someone that could match him blow for blow.Still hated it though.
Easily one of my favorite covers.
My heart goes out to Scott. It seems like he was the only one planning for the worst.
This page has me drooling. Am I mistaken in saying that this looks heavily influenced by Kirby?
Gotta love Mole Man
>We need to get you out there.
>Um, no.
Seriously, Dragon Man. You're supposed to be the smart one.
Awesome
That shows a remarkable level of maturity Darla. Good on you.
Now this is an interesting development.
Time for the last issue of the night. Getting to bed early so I can bust ass tomorrow. =D
I may not like everything he does but Bagley can bring his A-game when he wants to and right now he is a more than comfortable fit for the series.
>Nullifier
HA!
Well this just turned bad very quickly
>>92153478
I've liked Bagley on FF a lot more than other series recently.
Not gonna lie...did not expect this. Getting a Hellstar Remnina kinda of vibe.
Everytime Ben says dummies I get a 30 rock flashback to Dennis.
And this is where we leave it for the night. I hope everyone enjoyed. Probably won't storytime tonight/tomorrow due to work but I'll definitely be picking up on Monday.

Thanks for the story-time, dude. Looking forward to Monday.
Fraction's run really dropped the ball in the end. Kate's arc ending with her shouting "was this for nothing?" just seems like one big joke played on the readers. Sucking out all the momentum of Clint's arc to read complete shit like PIZZADOG and Kate getting beat up for four issues straight was a kiss of death for the book.
ugh thanks I guess

thanks Professor bro

Thank you
