Jeremy Jahns has just given Guardians of the Galaxy 2 a "It's a good time if you're drunk" rating. This is the lowest score he has ever given to an MCU movie, it's also the same rating he gave to BvS. Holy shit, could this finally be the beginning of Marvel's downfall?
>>
>>91806074
literally who?
>>
Marvel is finished. This movie will be lucky to break even. Marvel will be bankrupt by the end of the year.
>>
>>>/tv/
>>
>>91806074
I dunno, if I'm drunk I don't want something as plain as an MCU movie.

>>91806074

To be fair, this is also the guy that gave Avengers Age of Ultron an Awesometacular rating

But then again his ranking system is pure bullshit as it is.
>>
>>91806139
I guess the point is that he's someone who's easily pleased, and even still he isn't pleased with this.
>>
>>91806139
I've not given any credence to a informal ratings system since Spill.com died. Twice now since Double Toasted has decided they want to do politics as well.
>>
>>91806160
Could be just as petty as RLM shitting on Rogue One for minor stupid reasons.

>>
>>91806160

The point im making is rather, he's not the most reliable guy in terms of reviews. He used to be my go-to man in terms of movie reviews that are just for the everyday man but lately the only time he's been making good reviews is when its about something thats just complete ass like a Paranormal Activity movie.
>>
>>91806200

Tell that to Zod's broken neck.
>>
>>91806214
STOP WITH THESE SHITTY MEMES

why chris' comment section in particular is so cancerous is beyond me

He claimed he could make a superior script over Snyder's BVS and then made one of weakest scripts of an alternate beginning to Batman and Superman's fight in BvS ever seen, put it on Twitter and well..

the rest is history.
>>
>>91806344
i knew that happened and that's a lie. he never claimed the script would be "superior".

does that line come from his script?

It always amazes me when people pretend like Youtube celebrities are like real celebrities

Just goes to show that being popular isn't the same thing as having cultural ubiquity, which is a state of existence that is becoming rapidly endangered
>>
>>91806381
>he never claimed the script would be "superior".
he did. he even tweeted it (then deleted it). Then everyone made fun of him and his script and he made a video "pls no bully" because of it.

Also, he cried like a bitch because Red Letter Media made a joke about him.

Did they? I don't even rememebr them making a comment on him. But then I haven't watched anything besides best of the worst with them in a long time.
>>
>>91806074
Saw the video. It doesn't sound horribly bad, just really boring and slow in some parts (with too many jokes that don't land). And the villain isn't as good or defined as Ronan.
>>
>>91806074
every marvel movie causes one of these threads to generate before it comes out,I don't think there is even an OP for these anymore.
>>
>>91806523
Rotten tomatoes indicates what percentage of reviewers liked a movie. It tells you absolutely nothing about how much they liked it.
>>
>>91806496

>>
>>91806538
>ust really boring and slow in some parts (with too many jokes that don't land).

What else there is to an MCU movie if it's not fun, fast and quippy?

he also says in the review to not take his review as word of god and to read/watch a wide swath of reviews to get a clearer picture

or better yet just see the movie and make your own opinion

>>91806633
nice spoiler bubby
>>
sooo basically it was AoU all over again, funny because it was written entirely by the director itself without someone co-writing it just like the first movie. James probably burnt out when writing the script without co-writer to help him

look at the similarity:
>disjointed plot
>excessive jokes that sometimes felt flat and out of place
>too many characters at once
>>
>>91806528
It was a visual gag they did basically making fun of all the normie youtube reviewers and he got butthurt because his picture was up there.
>>
>>91806723
That's kinda pretensious since they kind of are as well, granted they've got some talent and real production quality. But still.

Unless they were making fun of the clickbait shit? What video?
>>
>>91806074

Well MCU movies are normie friendly as fuck and have a lot of goodwill. If Internet critics are bashing it it must be pretty shit.
>>
>>91806074
Wow finally this guy is making sense. good for you Jeremy #notashillanymore
>>
>>91806178

Like it being shit?
>>
>>91806735
They were making fun of insincere reactions to movie trailers, which has now become a parody podcast they do occasionally. And it's true, the fake enthusiasm is a terrible part of the youtube scene.
>>
>Ego, I've come to bargain!

What did they mean by this?
>>
>>91806528
They better not mock anybody's creative abilities when they themselves are making shit on purpose because it's criticism-proof.

Anybody here knows Double Toasted? Any opinion on them? I feel like Korey is trapped in a circle of instant blind hype, only to be disappointed.

This is true, I think I remember it. Wasn't it like a minute long clip they made ebcause peoepl wanted them to make a starwars TFA video, and it was like RLM reacts to people reacting to TFA?
>>
He gave Suicide Squad a "buy it on Bluray".

So if you wanna trust his opinion, go ahead.

How the hell could a villain be less defined than Ronan? Ronan was literally just antagonist-man. He was a complete non-character.

Yes

The Watchers and Adam Warlock are both explicitly in Guardians 2.

Just saw an advanced screening.

>>91807995

The villains is Ego the Living Planet, who is Star Lord's father instead of J'son of Spartax

The villain is much better in this. It's more about Peter's growth as a character.

Lame. Also he's a Celestial but he doesn't look like one. He just looks like Kurt Russel 95% of the time and a dumb rock face for a bit and David Hasselhof[/spoiler[ for a bit too.

Planet wise it's just like a planet with red clouds and a pseudo face.

RLM nailed a major issue with Rogue One: The Star Wars myth is is insanely limited. You can try to expand it as much as you want, but the tone, theme, and overall feel falls out when you go outside the "rebels fight against the Emperor's forces" story.
>>
>>91808600

Nope and nope

>>91807972

But they were happy to chug down TFA's slop
Face it, they're bitter contrarians and don't get as many views if they do otherwise.
