And again, that screentime in TPM amounts to almsot nothing. The political shenanigans have nothing to do with the main plot involving Padme and Anakin, he's in what amounts to an entirely different movie.

TPM has no viable villains that impact the plot. Nute Gunray could have been compelling if he wasn't written as a spineless pussy who served his master, Maul is a joke.

This is why the Trade Federation should have been shredded entirely and Dooku should have been the villain from the beginning. You can even keep Maul if you want that ending, then you have a villain with a personality who can be fleshed out in the movie in the background.

I'm trying to say that everything we know about the force goes against it being a mechanical thing where things are repeatable and always useable.

Just as Luke doesn't use super speed in any situation he should have after he uses it once in ESB to escape the carbonite (Vader catwalk in ESB to jump over him, trap door in ROTJ, etc), so too doesn't Obi. Maybe there is a reason for it, like they were tired, or what the video shows.

Either way, this issue is prevalent is BOTH trilogies.

I saw Rinzler said the book got cancelled and he doesn't work for Lucasfilm anymore but couldn't find anything else about it online. Even Wookieepedia still says it's just been delayed. Really disappointed after how much everyone wanted to know about the unused ideas as well as because of how good his other making of books were.

And apparently there's a Making of Rogue One book coming out now? It's not written by Rinzler, though.
