Even though in the past Laura has been infected by stuff her healing factor couldn't clear on its own... but there's no point in being cautious.

I didn't care for this issue. Too many pages were devoted to the crashing spaceship while Laura and Gabby run around like an afterthought until they're brought into the main plot by another character, and even then Gabby gets ditched. They don't even unmask, which makes identifying with them even more difficult.

On top of that, it seems like a wasted opportunity. First new story arc since 'Logan', first new story arc of the "ResurreXion" era, and instead of getting a proper introduction to Laura's world she shares half her book with characters who have their own comics.

Actually, I like this Riri better than other characterisations. She is obviously green as fuck and having smug AI Tony to her angry ranting kinda works. I fucking hate when women cannot fail or have flaws in media.
And it's not so bad to have a story begin with the titular hero not just getting sucked into the action happening right in front of him.
As a setup for the arc, this does nicely for me.
We see how Laura and Gabby are doing with some developments, we get some payoff from the child trafficking subplot, a threat appears in an interesting manner, characters work as intended (unless you insist on another Laura from an earlier run, although that is clearly not the intention, anyway).
Not too shabby, really.
