We have shelf threads but we never seem to have plain old statue threads like /a/ does.
This isn't a toy thread since these things aren't toys and can get you banned for posting in /toy/.
Anyway, post your gigantic wastes of money that only give you and a select number of weirdos pleasure, /co/.
Talk about what you have, talk about what you've bought, talk about what you've been looking at.
This thread is somewhat inspired by the fags at statueforum. And here I thought /co/ had autists...
>>91248396
I don't really give a shit about Red Sonja but that's a nice statue.
>>91248442
Sideshow has a whole line of weird zombie statues that fit nicely in that category.
This is the only comic book related statue I own. I may get the Bombshells Mera to go with it.
Everything else I have are action figures and One Piece statues.
>>91248709
I like the direction they go with a lot of these.
Carhop Flash is just plain inspired.
>>91248396
How much did you pay for that Mandy statue, OP?
>>91248893
250 USD.
I don't know why the white pillow ones are cheaper, but I liked the clean look compared to all the fashion variants they had for her seat.
>>91248396
>>91248396
.
>>91248396
..
Only comic book statue I own is the Kotobukiya GA one. I do have a Bishoujo Sakura (from Street Fighter), a Cloud and Squall, and the Gintoki on the pic, though.
>>91249095
Is the ax the exclusive version? What the fuck is up with sideshow and their ax fetish?
>>91249315
>of all the kotos he could have goto
>>91249327
No the ax it's not the exclusive version. It's a regular accessory. The ax was actually was He-Man's first weapon, before the Power Sword.
Who is that saemon daemon in the back?
>>91249762
"Mandy" is a really generic name.
>>91249791
>>91249895
Thank you. Statue is better.
I own this max fleisher statue. There is also a pg statue but i don't have a pic on my phone
>>91249979
How the fuck is it managing to stand up?
>>91250075
It has a newspaper base
It's so hard to find good comic statues/figures that aren't based on an animated series or movie these days, especially if you want a really nice, expensive one.
There are some nice as FUCK statues of the trinity from BvS but I don't want the movie designs!
The Batman B&W artist series is one of the only consistent lines that look good to me.
>>91250142
Is it because, and I don't mean this as a joke, they're black and white? Just working in two colors helps make things look uniform.
Otherwise, as much as I hate recommending Kotobukiya, maybe you should look into theirs?
>>91250263
It's more just because they design the statues in a specific artist's style, I think they'd work fine in color as well IMO.
>>91250333
I know some of them actually are in color, or at least there are some statues that use the same art as a model.
I've never taken the plunge on /co/ related statueshit for myself. I have a bunch of 1/6 toys and smaller figures and my LCS has a huge collection of them available, but I can't seem to justify it just yet.
I did get pic related (which has a base, dunno why it's not in the image) as a gift for my sister, though.
I want this statue so bad it hurts
>>91250621
>zipper abs
I don't know if I hate the aesthetics of love the company for being ballsy enough to go through with it.
Why are toy collectors casuals when it comes to comics?
>>91251134
Dunno if you're actually talking about toy collectors or if you mean statue collectors, but if it's the latter, I'd have to say it's because statue companies who sell their figures for hundreds if not thousands of dollars have to make ones of characters with at least some proven appeal.
> when the only version you care about of a character that rarely gets merchandise was an exclusive
I always liked this figure, there aren't very many good cartoon figs out there. I would post horse show stuff, because I can shit on them all day but damn do they make some cool stuff. I don't have any /co/ stuff myself except for a couple garfield things.
At my actual LCS right now. It's nice to see some of these things in cases RL.
>>91252217
Fucking iPhones I swear.
Can anyone recommend some good Doctor Doom statues?
I'd love one for my display shelf but I can never find anything suitable. Either the style is off, the pose is terrible, the colour isn't quite right or the price is too steep.
I want every single Bombshells statue desu
>>91252626
All my recs disappeared at "price too steep"
How much is too dear?
>>91252793
Well, that's the problem.
If I price myself too low then everything decent goes out then window
Price too high then it's most of my paycheck gone
Throw them all out there and I'll take a look
You got 200 dollars?
>>91253175
Some of the older bowen pieces are great, might be able to afford them and find a decent price from a resale on eBay. As for the best statues of him, you're looking at more than 500 USD and up.
>>91254133
>$200.00
>that sculpt and paint
>Koto's notorious QC
This makes me sad.
>>91254430
I own a few pieces from Koto, never experienced bad QC. In fact some of my best pieces are from Koto.
Where have they been slacking off? Which line?
>>91248957
>250 USD.
Damn. I personally can't justify spending over $100 on a girly statue if you can't see her nips. I have a bunch of anime cast-off statues and I typically draw the line at $200.
If I had better income I would definitely pick up that Mandy though
>>91254545
To be fair, she is fairly huge. She's technically the same scale as Red Sonja, maybe 1:5, just with cartoony proportions.
If I had the money, a life-sized Spider-Gwen. In silicone. For... recreational reasons.
>>91248396
This is at my local store and he's thinking of having a sale next month to clear out everything to renovate...god it's beautiful but I don't think I could afford it even on sale
>>91254750
>5000 dollar Realgirl
>500 dollar Spider-Gwen commissioned tights
>15 dollar tube of KY
Seems like a reasonable request for a loan at any local bank.
>>91249895
wew...i..I think I want to fap to that, I mean read that
>>91252217
rotate your shit, cuntnugget.
>>91254545
I would take more pictures of her since there's an unfortunate lack of Mandy statue reviews out there, but I think she's one shade too far for a blue board even if she's mostly covering herself up.
Can't wait for Marvel's classic Avengers statues to release.
>>91255622
Well hell...
>>91255622
Sick statutes but how can you spend that much money on that? Id be too afraid they'd get broke.
>>91255622
>>91255663
Trick is to rotate it in the phone, save it, then rotate it again to the orientation you think it should go. And it would be nice to have a unified Avengers themed lineup, rather than the movie ones.
>>91255725
One day, they will be. I just make sure that it doesn't happen in my lifetime.
>>91255622
The Superman and Batman statues are really nice but I never liked them because their faces look ugly as shit.
>>91256396
>nice
>look ugly as shit
Well which one is it?
>>91254755
Do those even go on sale? Premium figs never really get hit with the discount hammer.
>>91256430
The statues are, as a whole, really nice and well made, it's just that the faces are a huge turnoff, but I can see how someone could overlook that and still enjoy them for what they are.
>>91257743
I can see that with the dude sculptures anyway.
>>91251022
how much?
>>91248396
I'm very close to buying that Red Sonja statue. It's really well done.
I dont know why... I dont know where this is from... (apparently "Iron man/Human 28" or something) but I really wanted pic related... that cartooney style is so fucking cool
I forget when I got this but it's been on my shelf for a while. Should I have gotten someone else?
>>91259890
>He doesn't know Tetsujin 28-go
One of the oldest Mechs out there, man. That's the OG daddy of the genre, along with Giant Robo
>>91259629
$699.99
;_;
>>91261175
That's what you get for lusting after a Grail piece.
At least it isn't a real Grail-Grail.
check em
>>91252626
>>>/toy/ probably knows.
>>91261904
Mirin
>>91261904
World's bestJobber:^)
>>91262191
Thanks anon. Patience is a virtue, I waited like two years to get one off eBay for a good deal, like 80 bucks.
>>91262226
I love the character, but his guest appearances always seem to devolve into him losing control and wanting to destroy the world. Any fight against the embodiment of vengeance that doesn't end in defeat is jobbing big time, but his solo series are all great.
>>91255297
Consider posting her in an imgur gallery, friendo. Also be glad you only got her for $250, cause she's at least $300 now.
>>91263238
Maybe. Hell, if I ever get a lazy susan, I'd make a youtube video.
>>91263357
Please do, I wanna see more of this Mandy statue. I didn't even know one existed. The only thing I'm concerned about is the paintjob on the eyes. Looks like she may have lazy eye from the photostock images of her.
>>91263391
Yeah, like most of these figures, she has definitely got some angles.
>>91251657
holy moley thats cool
>>91264687
>>91263357
Where is the post man
>>91266580
You mean like this? I guess one won't kill me. Hope it isn't gonna flop weird like iPhone pics sometimes do.
>>91261775
The new Kotobukiya one that was just released is alot nicer and a lot cheaper.
>>91266718
She looks pretty good. I think you'll be fine because there is no explicit nudity (nipples, aerola, vagina).
Are there any exposed bits on her? Like can you see a nipple or vagina?
>>91249979
nice jacket
>>91255663
>>91255622
omega good job anon
>>91266917
Nope, she's pretty... tasteful?
And if I'm being honest, she has the best paint job out of most of my stuff, even compared to the Kotobukiya and Sideshow figures.
>>91267031
I'd hope so. Paying $300 for an AMERICAN figure is a lot. But if it has that much high detail and high quality then it's worth it.
Do you have any other lewd figures like her? Also where did you buy her? Only place I can find her is some website called electrictiki.
>>91267182
Why are American figures mostly complete shit anyways?
>>91255663
>>91255622
How's winter in Australia this time of year?
>>91267182
I got her direct from one of the Electric Tiki crew, actually.
And I don't have any other lewd statues. ARH seems to be the place to find those though.
>>91267220
Trying to catch up to Japanese voodoo paint magic.
Anymore statues that shows Caps face
>>91267323
Even the sculpts and general presentations are usually pretty lacking when you compare it to Jap shit.
Especially when you compare articulated figures.
How's my collection of Bruce timm Animated Shows/Movies (Mostly Batman) looking so far?
I still need to get Under the red hood & Doomsday
>>91267220
I don't know but take a look at the Funko Toys.
American on the left
Japanese on the right
Anyone a fan of Clive Barker figures?
>>91267407
I don't know why the toys are so crappy man but western style high premium statues have always been equal in their own way compared to Japanese statues, and I have a bunch of "high quality" 90s street fighter figures that were laughable compared to what sideshow was pimping out back then.
>>91260127
>all that fuzz/dust/hair
ew
>>91267270
It took a tropical cyclone to break the heatwave on the East coast...
>>91267554
>but western style high premium statues have always been equal in their own way compared to Japanese statues
Then why do most of the statues in this thread have hasbro tier paint jobs?
>>91267377
>Captain B.J Blazkowicz is an alternate-universe Captain America where there's no serum or propaganda boy-toy, he's just a metahuman nazi-killing psychopath
How shit is my taste?
>>91267637
figures are all too small
>>91267439
> nendos are funkos
???
>>91267463
Everything Clive Barker makes does things to me. So aesthetic.
That said, I'm not sure I would feel comfortable displaying them.
>>91249095
>>91249160
>>91249264
damn, those are pretty rad
>>91250621
not gonna lie, that one looks pretty shit.
>>91267637
love the Power Girl one. does the Stan Lee Cup belong to her or is that something else?
>>91267647
Yeah, they're all cheapies so they're smaller, but it works for me for now since I don't have a lot of space anyway. I would love to have a full display case and nicer figures some day.
>>91268453
It came with the Jonathan Quick figure I got tucked in the back, but I always give it to PG.
>>91268475
>It came with the Jonathan Quick figure I got tucked in the back
oh, didn't notice him
>>91267626
In a way, Blazkowicz actually is based on Captain America.
Wolfenstein 3D was based on the game Castle Wolfenstein, which was inspired by macaroni combat and war films from the 1960's and 50's, which owe a lot to popular war comics of the 40's and 50's, the most famous and influential of which is Captain America.
When Wolf 3D was being made, iD went all the way back to one of the films that inspired the original games, Where Eagles Dare, to create their main character, BJ. Clint Eastwood's character in that movie is an obvious descendant of the type of hard-boiled, blonde and chiseled army rangers that populated war comics, the most famous of whom is again Captain America.
It's interesting how because of how commonly copied Cap was throughout the 40's and 50's and how influential him and his copies were to basically all action film that followed, it's easy to forget how big a deal he used to be. He really is Marvel's Superman.
/offtopic
>>91266832
The koto one is nice but I like the sculpt on the prime 1 more
But for the price difference I can get over it
>>91267575
Yeah I should probably clean my stuff. I haven't touched any of my figures for like 3 years
Just got this the other day, I've wanted it for years.
>>91269637
Holy shit, that's amazing. Where's it from?

>>91270070
It's a DC Direct statue from 2001, and pretty hard to find these days. I was really excited to find it right here in town.
>>91248396
I preordered this Starfire statue a few months ago. I'll be getting it next month.
I love the Ame-Comi statues
>>91270156
I'm a big Starfire fan, and though I don't particularly like that design, that's the first Starfire statue I've ever seen that I actually like.
Hell, paint over the eyes and I might even love it.
>>91270374
I bought it because I quite enjoyed the short lived Palmiotti And Conner series
>>91251022
The other Hal Premium Format Statue also looks good. Id kill for the Sinestro (Yellow or Green) one too bad its sold out and Ebay is selling them for like 1 grand + shipping.
>>91270407
I do have the first premium Hal and the GL Sinestro, they're pretty awesome
>>91262028
>going to /toy/ for statue recs
Only jointfags over there
>>91270592
Can't afford figures yet since Uni expenses and not a wagecuck yet. I have a bunch of Toys tho. Got a GL Super powers one, A 200? Punshier Mattel, and some star wars shit.
>>91269637
Hahaha, I fucking love hokey cover reproductions.
>>91270256
>>91270156
These are good too. I have to think about getting this or the new Widowmaker.
>>91248396
All I got is one of these.
>>91271740
Better than Homiez.
got this for my birthday
I like it
>>91271938
Huh... nice. What's the cape made out of?
>>91271938
and got this the other day
pretty solid figure as well especially for the price ($40)
>>91272019
That thing doesn't just always come with its face blown off, does it?
>enter Sideshow raffle
>win
>It's the Beetlejuice statue
Someone will know this pain tomorrow.
RISE
Sideshow (and all the companies it bought out), XM studios, ARH, Bowen, DC.
Any other companies I should know about that handle their own premium figurine lines?
>>91251134
I cant find any good review channels because of this. The shit they say is embarassing
>>91274845
Literally reading off of wiki pages or worse saying "I don't really follow the comics but I saw the movie and the statue looked pretty cool"
