As I mentioned, I'm not a movie expert, just an average movie-goer. To me, the dialogue was snappy, quotable and life-like and acting was very belivable. It has some interesting characters, specifically I liked Finn and Kylo Ren. Cameos and references were not out of place (like they were, for examle, in RO) and special effects were gorgeous.

Like I said, my only problem is its similarity to E4. And some minor points that contradicted the old canon (light speed in atmosphere and breathable atmosphere in the TIEs cockpits), but that's just because I'm so used to the old EU stuff.

What I saw, was well-made.

Pius Dea Crusades have to be canon. They keep getting referenced and now Empire's End shows that the Hutts were worshipped as gods just like they were during the days of the Pius Dea. I'm thinking that since they're not really detailed in TOR and because they were introduced during that era where Lucas was beginning to put his actual lore into EU stuff that the Pius Dea Crusades are directly from him.

My guess is that Jakku was the final battle of the Old Republic against the Hutts, Sith, Jedi, Pius Dea, Republic, and maybe Mandalorians. Jakku was probably where the Old Republic finally fell leading to the Jedi quickly coming in to rebuild it into the Republic and finally defeat the Sith army on Ruusan or Malachor or wherever the Sith were finally destroyed in nucanon.

I'm going to bring up the same thing I did in the last thread. JJ is a fucking hack. He doesn't understand why Star Trek as a series worked. he did a near shot for shot remake of the wrath of Khan (one of my favourite movies ever) but changed the plot twist, killed the main, and then BROUGHT HIM BACK. He missed the point of spock dying. It hurt. You hurt when you lost him. When Jim lost him. Bringing him back with the mcguffin less than two minutes later cheapens it, and ruins the impact of him dying.

He turned it into boring sci-fi popcorn flicks, and also pissed off a shit ton of people involved in TOS, while alienating his audience. People lost interest because there were other movies doing the same concepts better. It's why I didn't even see the third one. I wasn't interested in spending money on a boring sci-fi action thriller.
