I swear there's this unspoken law in comics and cartoons, /a/ included, wherein if the female blushes then the inherent assumption is that she wants to get fucked, without exceptions. Doesn't matter what she's saying, what she's doing, or what her condition is: "red skin, put it in."

To be fair there is a LOT of other reasons to expect the kassbowl turning out this way, but I agree assumptions like that are dumb shit. People can blush for a whole range of reasons, such as seeing something embarrassing externally or being flattered.

A week or so ago I did a meticulous re-read for reaction images, and while in full spergmode I actually noticed the archive wasn't 100% accurate. FG07/08 isn't listed at all, but they should be between Pages 27 and 28. Also, the most recent one FG09 should be listed between pages 44 and 45 (plus the URL calls it 07 when it should be 09).

Should I care this much about the organization of an archive barely anyone probably uses? Maybe not.

Becoming the matriarch of her own Yinglet enclave for real is an enormous chance to advance yinglet society, From the very outset she can lay ground rules that help instead of confuse.

Vislet is fighting AGAINST ingrained yinglet social norms to improve their lot, This is a chance for a cleaner slate.

So, she's not a real yinglet though is she.

She's been transformed into one but naturally they're a human bean.

So, would the children come out as regular fullblooded yinglets?

Note that it has already been mentioned that yinglets are an extremely volatile race, it could easily be accepted that ANY minuscule trace of human genes left in kass would display in the young.

Yes, she is. She's physically 100% yinglet but with the personality of a twenty something years old male human. Although her new body's brain chemistry is affecting it and her thought capabilities.

>She's been transformed into one but naturally they're a human bean.
>So, would the children come out as regular fullblooded yinglets?
Her progeny will also be 100% yinglet. How they turn out will depend purely on education. They will have no experience as humans at all for obvious reasons, but they can be as intelligent as a Yinglet brain can handle (See Kass, the matriarch and most patriarchs).

How do you know that though?

On account of it being magical transformation it doesn't necessarily need to follow any given rules of biology. Until we are shown that Kass is now genetically 100% yinglet, or of course told by Val, then at most we can assume.

Just sayin.

Will FL bond with Isher over girly things?

For now, their relationship could be sweet.
Unless there's turbulent water ahead with Vizlet.
Could also be issues from the trademaster guy.
Knowing Val, peace won't last for long.

Maybe Kaz will just be friends with fancy lad,
Or it'll turn into a romance later down the line?
Don't really like to guess at these things
So I'll just wait and see where the comic goes.

But so far it does in almost every regard. Her taste buds changed and things that would have tasted like crap as a human now taste great. Her sleep patterns have changed. This comic doesn't have magic. There'll be a semi-reasonable explanation for all of this right?
>>
>>91173042
Well it's either magic or science-indiscernible-from-magic

seems to be the latter
>>
>>91173058
There's gotta be some "A-ha" realization when they finally do explain it. "Nanomachines, son" wont cut it.

I'm holding out on the GYs having human genetic material in them, explaining the human hair and vestigial tats which weren't apparent in LYs. It'd also make the transformation more plausible, if for example both humans and GY's shared the same # of chromosomes.
>>
>>91173459
Could still be magical bullshit. A wizard's attempt at raising an animal to sentience. We haven't seen mages, but I don't think there's any reason to believe that magic proper doesn't exist in this setting. We know for a fact that alchemy exists to a magical extent, after all - >>91169738

For the yinglet design, I wanted to play around with the sort of weird mashups that nature messed around with when late-stage dinosaurs were starting to evolve into the first mammals, so that was one of the major inspirations here.

Our remaining engineering crews assure me that most of the heavy equipment and tools we brought with us are in perfect functional conditions, but without a reliable and plentiful source of energy, it will remain unusable and recomend to keep said equipment storaged and sealed until we can find an adecuate energy source replacement. We are...WERE a colonial vessel and the technology we brought with us is more than capable of being easily re-activated after extremely long periods of inactivity. I'll start preparations to re-convert the crew quarters and any off duty chamber on the ship to its new storaging role. Right now, technician crews are repairing the vessel hull to ensure that the cargo we put in there will be hermetically sealed for as long as necessary. Let's hope our orbital beacon distress signal can reach beyond that weird nebula. All our mobile terra-forming devices and support crews will be moved in a spread pattern, to cover as much terrain as possible. Once all the work at Landing Site is done, I'll guide the remaining personnel to a new, more permanent settlement. We'll start with the search of an alternate power source for our heavy equipment as soon as our new home gets a good, stable foundation. I'd like to be optimist about this plan, but chances are that we'll be not setting foot on Landing Site again for a long, long time.

I like it but if the colonists remembered their history and journey to this planet, "modern" people would at least have some legends to reflect it, if not totally accurate records of their history. For this reason I prefer the "HotW humans are descendants of clones/test tube babies and have no memory of earth" theory.

Also, >bring enough energy to survive interstellar travel
>nuclear reactors piss out after less than a decade of use
>dont bring enough fuel reserves or the means of mining more fuel
congrats, you played yourself.

A lot of people in the middle ages still managed to live into their 70s or even 80s

Like, there wasn't an age cap, they just were statistically more likely to die from plague, accidents, and famine
When times were good, most people lived good long lives
>>
>>91181338
The low average lifespan was based on high child mortality rates dragging the average down
>>
>>91181403
Not to mention we tend to factor in war and plague.

That'd be like historians putting our life expectancy lower because of the influenza epidemic of 1918 and both World Wars.

It's assumed that the ship crashed and most of their power cores went down and unusable.I guess the settlements didn't work on the long therm and they switched to "basic survival mode", a few centuries of "Dark Age" way of life and there goes your ancient knowledge. It happened to Europe...TWICE. You can add some unfortunate "rough interactions" with the local lifeforms to the settlement collapse recipe.
>>
>>91185104
Yeah but the ancient Europeans were in basic survival mode with really primitive technology. The settlers would at least be able to fashion some decent technology before the shit hit the fan

On my rereading I noticed that every yinglet seen in the field guide is actually living in the area and usually can be seen in the ""real" world". That leaves the question of where this one is, because we never saw her in the enclave. Were girls hidden from us, or is the VS female population only 6?

How far out do you have the comic planned?

How long do you think it's gonna be (compared to the ~100 pages we have so far)?

Is it even going to end anytime in the foreseeable future? (not that I have a problem if it does, Ill stick around for 1000 so long as it has a proper ending)

And this might sound like a trap question, but is there any super-ambitious change-in-format stuff for the comic planned? Pretty much any time an artist attempts that it is a total disaster, so I'd hope not, but also no one wants to say their work wont be ambitious.
>>
>>91190068
I have it planned right up to the end, but in a rough, loose sort of way. I've got a metaphorical skeleton built, but am only adding the meat to it week by week.

Basically, the story exists in my head as a series of major plot points that need to happen in a general order, so there's a vague path the story will take from one to the next. Everything in between though, I'm letting myself figure out as the story moves along.

I don't have a specific number of pages in mind for the story's total length; I'd much rather feel out how long it should take to get from point A to point B in the plot on a short-term basis, rather than write the scripts for every page at once.

That way, I can go, "Hmm, people are wondering about [some aspect of the setting] a lot lately! I should probably devote an extra page or two to it. Or likewise, with character interactions.

I might originally picture a scene lasting one page, but then as it gets closer, I might realize "oh damn there's just way too much fun potential here for just one page, I'll extend it to 2-3 instead."

Basically, the main points of the story are already written, but I'm free to decide how much time I'll spend on getting from one point to another.

This also has the upside of letting me make semi-major changes to the overall story without having to rewrite a bunch of pre-written scripts.

Lopin's a perfect example. He originally was going to be more of a side character. But as the story went on, and I had the time to realize how much potential he had as a character in Kass' little group, I decided to nudge him into the set of "main" characters. All those major plot points are still the same and will still happen in the same order, but now there's just a bit more Lopin in between.
>>
>>91191427
Why is Lopin sopretty? Do the random humans he meets mistake him for a female if they don't know about yinglet society?
>>
>>91191511
He's blonde
He's cute
He's upbeat
Lopin's soprettyness is 90% personality, the other 10% is his soft, silky hair

I actually do like the way they pictured the yinglets. They look like ratbirds living on the outskirts of human society in middle-ages would look: wiry, bony little monsters.

The anthro-doberman-thing, yeah, not so much. His face is off-model as hell and was just plain ugly to begin with.

I really do like everything else about the picture though.

Back in the old days, diseases (including those caused by vitamin deficiency) were practically considered "natural causes". Even today, pretty mich all nonviolent death cam be attributed to diseases like cancer or alzheimer's that we simply can't cure yet.

Some anons are making crackpot theories about how yinglets arrived on a spaceship, and how they're actually the result of an alien race's attempt to create a perfect species or something.

All these theories are less rooted in the source material than your average Dark Souls lore video.

I guess its time to make the case again.

>normal human beings around, living pre-industrially on a planet that cannot be earth (either they came from earth or earth does not exist, which conflicts with most people's basic immersion on some level)
>Giant fucking nebula in the sky
>Multiple moons (one of which we never get to see for some reason hmmmm)
>Giant insects and segmented worms who could not survive under modern earth atmosphere
>Yinglet physiology is totally fuck-tarded and evolutionarily implausible, but a more plausible, non-sapient sister species exists which they also happen to hate impulsively... wonder if there is a connection here?
>Actual transformations happening
>yinglets somehow understanding the tides and where to look for artifacts despite the 3-body system of HotW making tides impossible to decipher
>despite the observed habitable continent being pretty small, lots of racial diversity among the people of valsalia, even though this is a time when distant travel is probably really difficult
>Val (repeatedly): "I think the distinction between scifi/fantasy is soft... ...there can be 'spaceships' in fantasy, and 'magic' in sci-fi..."
>Val is inspired by morrowind, a fantasy setting in which ancient aliens descended on a fantasy world, bringing their own engineered race with them
>Val (in meta-commentaries earlier in the webcomic's life) repeatedly hints at some great tweest happening in the future
Not to mention, its just a really cool theory which meshes very well with the author's personal philosophy regarding fantasy writing and which is very compelling to us (obviously).

People have accepted theories with FAR less to go on.
