This question bothers me. If Jack had found a way back to the past relatively soon after he landed in the future and if he never got to know people like the Scotsman, it wouldn't be a problem; he could just think of it as averting a bad future. But he's met a lot of nice humans and aliens over the years, and rewriting the history means that he could erase everyone he met out of existence.
I hope this issue will be addressed.

shit's gorgeous all around and them relying heavily on visuals to tell the story felt like breath of fresh air. Fight scenes are some of the best I've seen so far this season and the running scene along with the wolf metaphor is fantastic, beautifully animated. Their take on Aku's and Jack's depression is some of the better ones I've seen being handled in fiction, I'd say (Aku having everything with nothing to do, Jack having an internal struggle of being tired of getting hunted down/losing his purpose). Only part that i didn't like was the music in the big golden mausoleum being intrusive when things should be quiet to build up the tension even more. That and Aku not being entirely the same but like Iroh, could be getting used to. Some missable errors here and there but nothing too jarring or serious. Can't wait for next Saturday though

So my theory is, since Aku is obviously getting really worked up about Jack not dying, to the point of Therapist Aku mentioning that sending him to the future may have made him immortal, I'll bet Aku will end up sending Jack to the past in a crazed attempt to make him mortal.

The real question is, will Jack ever get his original sword back, or will he be forced to do what his Father did?

It is way too elaborate and loud for SJ standards, but it also feels like it is too serious of a track to be just a one time thing.

Usually I hate timeskips because they just jump into a new status quo without showing the character development that led there. But I'm liking the use of a timeskip here. Time has went onward for the audience after Samurai Jack ended, and for several years it looked like the series ended with no closure. But turns out time has went on for Jack and Aku too, and they haven't been able to accomplish any closure during these years either. No progress on what they seek to do, and unable to get a definitive victory over their enemy. And both of them are depressed by this long, continuing stalemate.

I didn't think about it much earlier, but now I feel like the timeskip was a nice choice. It's interesting to see an animated protagonist that's so broken and full of despair. I hope we'll still get to see him smile again eventually.

The girls had numbers and the element of surprise. He was injured since the beginning of the episode. Jack has also lost confidence in himself without his sword, but when his life is on the line he can dodge their attacks like second nature, and even kill one who not only surprised him but was better armed.
