Well in defense of Decimation leading into Children's Crusade, the Phoenix wasn't created by Cyclops or the X-Men. Cyke was trying to control a force of nature that would destroy the entire planet if there were no mutants/no Phoenix host. Avengers wanting to destroy it was stupid because Magneto and Captain America know that the Phoenix can only be suppressed and it would just come back stronger and angrier than before. Plus it was the only thing that was reseeding worlds because we did not have Lifebringer Galactus at the time. Cyke was going to minimize the Phoenix's destructive rampage by diffusing it's energy across the planet which would also jumpstart the X-Gene. His plan was not to have a giant firebird burn the planet alive in another cosmic battle but the nullify it's threat before it even had a chance to attack.

Cyke's plan was proven right and even when the Avengers were butthurt that he didn't play by their plan which would have killed way more people than what happened with Avenger's meddling, he turned himself in only to escape when people were persecuting mutants with no one stepping up for them.

I know 616 has been rebooted several times but Black Bolt knew what he was doing with the Terrigen Bomb, The first bomb during Infinity was made to make everyone Inhuman so that Attilan could create an empire above race, religion, etc but BB knew it would kill millions of people who could not handle the change or did not have the Inhuman genes.

Fast forward to Bomb#2 and Black Bolt/Medusa should have known that Terrigen screws with Mutant's powers because of Quicksilver going mad a while ago and stealing Terrigen to reboot his and other mutants powers but most of those mutants who were exposed had their powers go haywire and/or died from the aftermath. BB didn't tell Medusa about the Bomb but they still should have known better. BB and Medusa getting away with this Scott-free (pun not intended) makes it worse and non-comparable to Decimation. >>90612821

Assuming you've read the whole mini and aren't just commenting on the first issue: Scott's really dead, Emma used her powers to make everyone think he was still alive until the battle with Blackbolt where everyone in the world (phone cameras and Internet) saw Blackbolt "kill" Emma's illusionary Scott. They had a funeral but the coffin is empty and Emma had Scott's body hidden in some morgue somewhere. All this happened over a year ago in-MCU time, I'm not sure if they've shown what Emma did with the body since then. Time displaced teenager Scott is still running around, and this is comics so who knows how long adult Scott will actually stay dead, but he's really dead for the moment.

If you are a mutant, its what you always have been. It might take a while for your powers to express themselves, but this is YOU. Mutants are hated and feared by a lot of people, and its not uncommon for mutants to have trouble adjusting to their powers or learning to control them, so you have safe havens like the school. Its a good idea to go there if you get the chance, but they don't force you. You are free to try and make it on your own, or even join up with groups like the brotherhood of mutants.

But if you are inhuman? Some superpowered assholes show up, gas you, and if you manifest a power just say "We own you now, welcome to inhumanity.
