Furries are a very particular demographic that pay top dollar for quality art, whereas most other comic reading demographics are on the cheaper side and short change their artists. Catering to furries would be a very attractive thing to do for an artist even if they personally weren't interest in the fetish.

I remember Tracy once saying that visiting a furry con for the first time was a surprising more welcome experience because it was the only place her customers would insist she wasn't charging enough for her art and they wanted to tip whereas every other con had people expecting her to charge considerably less for high quality prints and to draw commissions for free.

Yeah, the witches have been around for a bit now. They're attached to the Sisterhood, particularly to the old granny character who also turned out to be a witch. So I guess they've got a secret tavern in the woods or something where a lot of the various fugitives of the comic have begun to congregate. Ahahaha oh thank god. I love Lackadaisy for the artwork but the story is so so weak. The characters don't seem to develop at all and most pages feel as if they're all loose events. Well, consider the fact that Western comic art tends to be on the more "realistic" side, so it's harder to make it convincingly attractive as far as porn goes. Sure, Power Girl's boob window is nice, but it's tantalizing nature is more interesting than the reality of her bare tits. With her canon art, you can't really do much exaggeration without it looking awkward, which is why most attempts to do so DO look like MSPaint tier garbage.

Furry art (and Eastern art) is more simplistic, so fetishes can be catered to easier. A furry girl with tits the size of her entire body looks much more believable in its native art style, which makes it more appealing to the primal side of the brain where the fetish lives.

Nearly everyone you know has at least one fetish that they hide. No one is 100% vanilla in their tastes, and in the age of the internet it's become easier than ever to privately indulge in these desires. Since furry art is more a gateway to extreme fetishes than anything else, it makes sense that more people with money to connect with artists for their fetish would turn to furry artists.

Two reasons

Furry stuff, even more than Homestuck and MLP and other autism magnets, is really good for making your own OCs. There are no rules, no real limitations. People like to have GOOD artists draw their personal characters, and they pay for that.

Secondly, niche. Niche stuff often brings in money because people can't get it otherwise. Look at ShindoL. Doujin artists who made a name for himself doing more extreme stuff, since there was a lack of well drawn extreme stuff. Makes 3.5k on Patreon and was getting by before that.
Trying to find a specific kink can be hard for porn, trying to find a specific kink that is also furry is even harder.

TL;DR - Gotta pay top dollar if you want a picture of your OC technicolour fox with a knotted horsecock eating someone with his asshole.
