iirc in the Tolkein lore the orcs began as another race of elf-like people of Arda who were corrupted when they threw in with Sauron during his rise to power against the Maia. The Pale Orcs from The Hobbit were like proto-orcs, the first of their kind, but they're a dying breed because it's more effecient for the Dark Lord to just grow armies of these cheap surpless orcs/uruks.

All that being said, it would make sense for their to be female equivalents that existed at some point, but are probably all gone now that the ururk-hai are the meat & potatoes of the dark forces.
