She work since her 15 in the familiar cargo ship as pilot until the 20 when she join the Empire. First driving a T4, later on the Imperial Navy.

When she was 24, she was already a pilot of a TIE serving a Star Destroyer fighting Separatist strongholds systems.

She fought very few battles and the continued demoralization of the cause (since the training) Made her start idealizing the rebel pilots and the Rebellion itself as her brotherhood.

With a clean history and the trust of her commanders she achieved to sabotage her ship and her companions in a battle. Crashing in a Separatist strongholds allied to the Rebellion.

Until then everything is done. Doesn't come to my mind any ideas of her "adventures" that she will live to join the Rebellion, gain her X-wing and her droid ships. Maybe for her will be a total change beacuse since her childhood hate the separatist and jedis alike.

She has 30 for the battle of Scariff and serve in it but no in Yavin.

She fought in the battle of Endor.

The only good EU was the post-Endor "Warlords" era. It had the New Republic realistically struggle in getting on its feet while the Remnant stubbornly clung to the last shreds of life while infighting continued to tear it apart. Also had some really awesome characters in there as well (Pellaeon, Daala, the Pentastar Alignment, even ol' Fatass Zsinj) Admittedly, even in that "golden timelime"... eh, not everything was great. Everything else can come and go as it pleases.

I think I'm personally most butthurt about this new "kbyeImperialstimetogobeFirstOrdernao" bullshit where the New Republic is instantaneously established with very few hiccups and basically only one big-ass battle that the Rebels win... somehow.

Norra and the team find out that Sloane is on Jakku, go to Jakku and arrive to see the entire Imperial fleet is there. Norra and Jas take an escape pod down, while the rest of the team go back to Chandrilla to tell Leia. Sloane and Brentin are trying to figure out where Rax is from/who he is. Ends up that "Niima" is a Hutt. They are working with her to find Rax. There is a shady senator, Wartol, who wants to be chancellor and is ahead of Mon Mothma in the polls. Ends up that he wired Leia's protocol droid, found out about the Imperial fleet, and decided to tell the NR via HoloNet News. Mon gives a speech saying she's going to bring it to the senate to get the NR fleet to Jakku. Part one ends with Ackbar telling her that the vote did not pass and the fleet will not go to Jakku.

The Jakku research facility is called the Observatory. It's a part of a wider network of laboratories situated on the edges of the known galaxy. Sheev began building them as far as the Clone Wars and each facility has a different purpose - some house Sith artifacts, some focus on weapon development, some as biolabs (mention of "sapping life force of prisoners for nefarious purposes").

The Jakku Observatory is a part of a greater plan called the Contingency. The facility houses a variety of ancient navigational computers from an earlier civilization. Its goal was to map the Unknown Regions because Sheev felt a dark side presence calling him from there. Nobody else could hear that calling, not even Vader. Rax thinks Sheev was going mad. It's difficult to map out the UR because all the scout ships going there were taken out.

Chewbacca has a son named Waroo.

Jar Jar hangs out in an orphanage on Naboo, entertaining the refugee kids. The adults despise him, because he was instrumental in Palpatine's rise to power.

I think it's really good. It's inventive and bustling and really draws you in.

The post-Endor era is also a sore spot for me in the canon as well, because there's nothing about how it goes down that makes any sense and it feels like that powers that be took away from Endor the superficial assessment of "Death Star II blown up, Palpatine dead, Empire defeated, GG" and wrote around that while ignoring everything else.

In a year's time we go from the Battle of Hoth, where the Rebellion needs to hide and can't even successfully defend its own base of operations, to the events of the first Aftermath book, where Imperials are meeting on the lowdown and much like Hoth are reduced to running as soon as they're discovered. I get that the Empire has it's own internal struggles sapping its strength following Endor, but there's really no way to make sense of the Rebellion reaching parity or eclipsing the Empire in the timeframe that they do. Nothing that we've been given provides a mechanism, or even room for an explanation, that reconciles the depiction of the Rebellion we're given in the films (Or the rest of the new canon) and their implicit materiel and manpower disadvantages with the one we see in Aftermath that wins against an opponent that's been shitting out Star Destroyers and stormtroopers for two decades.

Beyond that though, from a storytelling opportunity the timeline really restricts things. There's not a lot of potential for more scrappy underdog Rebel shenanigans, for the Rebellion to genuinely grind out hard-fought victories that transition it from an insurgency to a legitimate galactic presence, for the Empire's infighting to manifest in interesting ways, or for the Galactic Civil War to feel like a galaxy-rending event, because instead we got a truncated narrative that seems focused on wrapping up the era for no apparent reason.

Well, for me it was my first MMO, and it was new at the time. It was fucking magical being able to build towns and drop houses anywhere on one of a half dozen SW planets, with hundreds of other players. The actual score and same style of music as the films playing in the background as you rode a speeder bike across a vast planet was a feeling I haven't had replicated in a game yet.

That said, it is well over a decade old, and the character models looked like ass at the time. It hasn't aged well, and emulation simply can't replace a vast player base, and so long after it can't inspire that same sense of wonder.

Unkar Plutt and Bala-tik are minor characters, so they could be killed or live, they don't matter. Hux could've been killed, like Tarkin in New Hope. So 3 of the people you listed could've died.

It's a good book, but it also gets a little too much praise. Its strongest point is the characterization of Palpatine, and Luceno writes him extremely well. The book's biggest issues are Luceno's obsession with continuity references weighing it down at times, and the last fourth or so of the book is kind of aimless and you can see Luceno struggling to justify his decision to have Plagueis literally standing off-screen for several scenes in Episode 1.

People also weirdly praise it for "making sense" out of the Trade Federation plot in Episode 1 but the book doesn't really add anything that isn't already implied in the movie.
