If all you see in Ennis' writing is edgy, you're genuinely not getting the man and I doubt you ever will.

I find that his writing on the surface is toilet humor and gore but underneath is the fascinating look at humanity, our loves, our hates, our desires (no matter how dark or twisted), and in the end, just the basic need of wanting to do the right fucking thing just because.

The more you read Ennis, the more you grow to truly appreciate him.
