Hail Mandalore!
What is she, /swco/?
>"I did it. Because I've come to realize what many people in the Republic have come to realize, that the Jedi are the ones responsible for this War. That we've so lost our way that we have become villains in this conflict, that we are the ones that should be put on trial, all of us! And my attack on the Temple was an attack on what the Jedi have become: an army fighting for the dark side, fallen from the Light that we once held so dear. This Republic is failing! It's only a matter of time."

I don't think Maul has been storytimed. I can if it hasn't been.
>>89632219
Spelljammer/Treasure Planet? What an odd thing to add to the mix.
Why did the Jedi drink the tea if they knew (even before the Nemoidians blew up their ship) that there was "and unusual amount of fear" and they where untrustworthy.
>>89632319
They sensed no ill will from the tea.

>>89632319
They probably didn't think the Neimoidians were bold enough to try to kill them. And they'd be right, they were pretty much ready to give up the moment they realized Jedi were involved, but Sidious then ordered them to man up and kill them. The fear they sensed was of Sidious.
>>89632319
A better question is why Obi-Wan and Anakin took the drinks offered by Hondo and didn't sense they were drugged.
>>89632376
You probably just summoned that anon who really gets off on Daisy's smile.
>>89632414
Not that I want to question the wisdom of George Lucas, but for pair of diplomat/peacekeepers don't you think that's a bit naive?
>>89632448
They didn't. They switched the drinks out with two other guys. There's two separate explanations for what happened: either Hondo knew they'd pull something like that and drugged those guy's drinks too just in case, or Hondo's monkey later drugged them via the air ducts (that was the explanation offered in an official online comic, though the episode itself has Obi-Wan convinced that it was the drinks that did it)
>>89632019
Because the good users abandoned this general a long time ago
>>89632599
The only factor they hadn't considered was the idea of the people they're about to negotiate with being secretly bullied by a Sith Lord, which isn't something that happens very often.
>>89632652
I wouldn't be surprised if Obi-Wan drank drugged drinks on purpose. Ahem, and then said that three times fast.
Anyway just part of his "spring the trap" philosophy.
>>89632599
Why would diplomats on peace talks expect to be poisoned
>>89631959
the real question is, is that a hat or part of her head?
>>89632599
Not when it was almost unthinkable to attack a Jedi in hundreds of years if you were a part of the Republic, like Naboo and the Trade Federation both were, and not some shady-ass gangsters. Even Obi-Wan comments on how out of character the Trade Federation is acting in all of this because they're just capitalist businessmen, not Hutt Cartel or Black Sun crime lords.

Anyways, I agree with >>89634350
Ahsoka is pretty meh, and just gives a bit more development between TCW and Rebels, but nothing exceptionally important or interesting. Ashley reads the audiobook though, so I'd say it's worth listening to that.
Dark Disciple is controversial but I enjoyed it a lot. Felt very much like one of the darker TCW arcs.
Son of Dathomir is simply a really great action-packed comic with some great character spotlights for the villains of the prequel era.

Hey, does anyone else recall seeing this animated (as far as I can tell, fanmade) short?
This was a web short online, that as far as I know has been erased from existence.
Basically it was like, an expansion on the scene where Kit Fisto, Seaseae Tiin, Agen Kolar, and Mace Windu arrest Palpatine.
It started with the four going up an elevator and making bets on whether or not Palpatine was really a Sith Lord, followed by an epicly awesome fight between the four and Palpatine, where of course they were all killed.
Saw it maybe ten years ago, been searching ever since. Appears to no longer exist
>>89635170
I would have tried that were it not for the fact that Aftermath Life Debt states that the FRONT END is hatchet shaped
>>89635219

I know it's been said a million times, but in an odd way I like talking about it- how did JJ fuck up SO BAD?
I mean, even his Star Trek movies (2009>>>>>ID) are 10x better than TFA.
I really wonder what happened behind the scenes.
We know the project was rushed, we know that they sort of but not really scrapped Arndt's draft that he wrote off George's notes, etc..
Very intriguing stuff.
>>89635872
>try to jump next to him

You could argue he thought it through slightly more than Anakin, but probably still not all that more effective, no.
>>89636015
Is this your trigger or something? That's weird.
The high ground shit just makes me laugh at this point.
ROTS has basically been memed into a comedy for me, just like The Dark Knight Rises. Between McDiermid's hamminess and Hayden's terrible acting it's actually pretty amusing. Then you have the added subplot of Ewan McGregor desperately trying to rescue the movie by acting his ass off as Obi-Wan.
>>89636036
>I know it's been said a million times, but in an odd way I like talking about it- how did JJ fuck up SO BAD?
He's an overrated hack who was in over his head so he basically stole the plot from ANH with elements from the Darth Caedus arc. Then he had Disney destroy the EU so he could say Kylo Ren was a donut steel.
>>89636308
McGregor needs to be Obi-Wan in a better movie desu

That has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Finn was like the only good performance even if his character was a joke.
"Normies" don't give that much thought to movies. They just go with friends and laugh at things that aren't jokes.

this. If they were going to use Caedus, they should've just at least stuck with the names. It's not like Rey's isn't going to be the Jaina equivalent anyway.
>>89636533
If we find out that Rey is literally Kylo's sister I'll be so fucking mad. She'll probably be a Skywalker, but there's still a slight chance she's a Solo.

>>89636432
I get lost at his spin. I can't imagine why George thought it was a good idea for Sheev to have a lightsaber battle when the actor is clearly not physically capable to spin around with a stick. Then there's the fight with Yoda at the Senate. Yoda jumps around like a frog and Sheev just swings it around in circles.

I would love to watch a Jedi Korra fuck everything up in every sense.
>>89636826
Yes people know who Palpatine is. No, people don't know that Vader is real unless they see him; same as Jedi of old which is how their memory died out by ANH.
Very few people in the Empire know Palpatine and Vader are force users, even less outside of it know.

I've suggested that his concealed lightsaber could have been used to better effect if he'd feigned surrender, and then popped it out and fatally surprised them when they moved to apprehend him.

This is not true and was sensationalized by the media to promote the movie.

>not-Ferengi

>>89637613
This. The script, Lucas, and the other higher-ups are the problem with the Prequels. Unlimited "creative freedom", an unlimited budget, and no-one telling George that many of his ideas were completely retarded or made no sense. The reason the originals were so great, was because there were limits on production, funding, and people could actually argue against Lucas' ideas. Without any controls or limits, you get a "Mighty Number 9" sort of production, which is what the Prequels were.

Do you think they are any conspiracy theorists in the galaxy? Like people post on Holonet forums about how Alderaan was actually a Rebel blackflag op, or how Order 66 was just a cover up and the Jedi are still manipulating things in secret.

Would he silence him for having somehow figured out the truth or would he just let him spout it out because who would believe this guy?
>>89639785
The whole movie was a rehash of the first one. It was boring, weirdly paced and the plot was nonsensical. Like why doesn't the new Republic care about a splinter group that's raiding, has a functional fleet and is building a super weapon? Also rogue ones space and ground combat was 10x better. Kyle ren made me laugh and so did Luke doing his best potatoes expression at the end
>>89640032
The Empire's SOP seems to be to just shut down any media that's saying anything negative about them, so someone like that would probably not only get shut down, but would probably also earn an all-expenses paid luxury trip to the Imperial Palace so he and the Emperor can have a little chat about where he got this information.

No, they don't have a stalemate. The New Republic genuinely doesn't even see them as a real state, just as a bunch of harmless lunatics cosplaying as the Empire. That's the entire reason Leia is running a shoddy little resistance movement, the NR won't take the FO seriously.

Why not have stardetroyers equiped with a sort of deathstar laser but with only one kyber crystal
the laser would only have 1/8 the firepower of the deathstar but i'd say that ought to be enough to penetrate most sheilds.would that have been more interesting than the starkillerbase?
>>89644764
Truly this is a jetpack worthy of the Mandalore of Mandalore.
>>89646626
1/8 firepower of the Death Star in a tiny Star Destroyer?
>>89646675
You could, theoretically, I suppose. It would depend on if the powerplant to power even a 1/8th powered weapon would be larger than the ISD itself. Arguably the Death Star had a significantly increased powerplant because it wasn't just the weapon but powering the hyperdrive for something that large and also the shields.
Not really sure how big a deal the shielding is, though it does play a role in Catalyst. Curiously the Death Star never relied on shielding so much as armor, having no way to reach the core...in theory until the thermal exhaust port proved that notion false and of course the DSII was incomplete and you could fly the damn Falcon to the core and back out. Interestingly the shield base for Endor was never meant as a stand-in for the Death Star's own shields since the one generated from Endor was similar to the one around Scarif, stopping ships from breaching it. If the Death Star could generate a shield like that the X-Wings could never have gotten close just as they couldn't in ROTJ until the shield was down.
>>89631878
He looks like Shinzon
>>89646626
>>89646675
The Death Star dish on a normal Star Destroyer does look kinda stupid. But I imagine it'd be more than enough to blow something like Home One up.
>>89646826
So was the normal Death Star, but surprisingly they never bothered to target the Alliance command vessel.
>>89646826
In Catalyst they had a 1/50 scale superlaser on a Star Destroyer for testing.
I guess it's not practical becasue of the price/rarity of Kyber crystals or the superlaser drains so much energy you don't have more for shields, engines and other weapons, which would be inpractical in combat.
Also the Empire usually faces a lot of small ships and swarms of fightrers, not a small number of big ships.
>>89644775

hey that's pretty good, but I think you should make the details (turbolaser turrets and hangar) smaller to give a sense of scale that its supposed to be like 1200 meters long or more

I don't remember that at all. I remember Krennic's attempt to duplicate Galen's kyber power generation facility resulted in a boom comparable to a nuclear explosion, but no mock-up of the weapon.
>>89647006
It was the final prototype for the Death Star that, if complete, would have allowed the weapon to zipline into the Yavin system and be on the Rebel Base long before they could mount their fighter attack.
>>89646974
that engine block is pretty damn good, I wish I had the slightest 3d modeling talent
>>89646866
>>89646949

>Munificent
That was unintentional, I was going off the hammerhead for the heavy guns.
>>89647053
They did blow up a Mon Calamari ship with the Death Star, though
>>89647053
So what you're saying is they thought Ackbar was in that ship the entire time. Interesting theory.
I'm still surprised the plan to attack those Star Destroyers point blank helped, I wouldn't have put it past the Emperor to order the Death Star to fire into the battle regardless of friendly fire.
>>89647083
Home One being such a large, distinctive vessel should have made it a primary target, or at least you'd think, just like the Profundity stood out. But let's be honest, the Emperor was mostly toying with them. Taking out a few ships to make them panic. He had no impression that he was going to actually lose that engagement, let alone his life.

Abrams made it so that the galaxy has been in stasis since "Return of the Jedi", only to go backwards in TFA. Still only one Jedi and one semi-apprentice. Two dark side users. Han goes back to smuggling and Leia's back to leading the Rebel-, I mean the Resistance. Death Star-esque weapon that gets destroyed through a trench run. We get a suped-up female Luke and the only unique part of the movie, Finn's Stormtrooper-janissary upbringing is relegated to comic relief and barely acknowledged. Probably the easiest explanation is that given they were surrounded by pirates who have reason to hate them on general principal, it would be harder to detect specific threats in the overwhelming miasma of threat surrounding them. At least in TPM what triggered their danger sense wasn't the gas being pumped into the room, it was sensing the (very brief) fear of their pilots.
>>89650046
>We have no idea how many people Luke was training, for how long

I see. If there were a hanger on the blade section of the "hatchet" it could be around 100-200 meters long. Since the hatchet is also quite vertically tall there could also be 1 or two additional hangers on that section.
The wook says an x-wing is 12.5 meters long. Assuming each fighter needs an additional 7.5 meters of space around it, and the hangers could fit two x-wings side by side comfortably, and each hanger is 150 meters, you could fit 14 x-wings in one hanger. With an additional hanger that's 28, and a third we're up to a whopping 42 fighters. This ship is swarming with fighters! But that's on the high end of how much space these hangers could get. Scaling the hangers down to 100 meters with just two hangers gives us 16 x-wings. Scaling the second hanger down to a single row with less space, since the hatchet tapers, to 80 meters we cold have 11-xwings, on the low end.
I made up these numbers mostly arbitrarily by eye-balling the designs. Still, with 14 turbo and 11 x-wings ready to fly this ship is no push over. If it did have the maximum guesstimate of 42 fighters that's probably enough that the ship and the x-wings could hold the line against an SD+TIEs. Wook says an SD has 72 ties, and I assume one x-wing=2 TIEs in a fight. The only question is where the rebellion could get enough fighters AND pilots to fly all those damn fighters.

>>89651762
Rey's the magical SW protagonist age of 19 in TFA, so no. She's been there for 13 years as-of Bloodline.
In the Insider short story that takes place some time prior to Bloodline, Han is in a big hot-shot race he set up (I could be remembering that part wrong) and he's using a chrome A-wing. Pretty sure that shows up in Bloodline when he goes to save Leia on the water world.

Did you not read the TFAVD? Twice it mentions that Leia is worried the First Order has a new-age SSD hiding in the shadows. Just as well, Snoke is confirmed to have a mobile base. Two and two together makes Snoke using a new SSD as his base.
>>89651683

Bloodline, if I recall correctly.

Indeed, gotta love me some iStormtroopers am I right
>>89647185
Interesting. I remember that scene, but that is not how I remember it. I was listening to the audio book though so I was probably doing something else at the same time, distracting myself. What I remember from the scene was not that Krennic had requisitioned a Star Destroyer to install his prototype weapon on, but rather I just lumped that in with his growing ambitions and sense of personal grandeur. I imagined they were just observing a prototype from the bridge, but the talking about going down with the ship, yeah, definitely it was installed on the Star Destoyer.
>>89652309
If both Snoke and a lot of innocent FO citizens lived on a rebuilt SSD.
Would the NR destroy it to kill Snoke or not destroy it to save the citizens?

>>89652558
It would only be fair to nuke it, since the FO nuked the NR's leader and a ton of civilians along with him.
>>89652584
I dont think its Ipods persay, I think its more of a "look at these new scary stormtroopers, they are super original" kind of situation
that and they want to make us think FO has the power by giving them all this fancy looking stuff
I actually did like the look of the X-Wings in The Force Awakens. Seemed like a natural evolution of the design.

Rey was 4 or 5 when she was abandoned. She's 19 in TFA. Bloodline takes place 6 years before TFA, when Rey is 13. So she's been on Jakku 8 or 9 years as of Bloodline.

They were ok. Still prefer the old one, something about the way the cockpit looks and how the fighter is proportioned overall.

>Guys like Raddus and Merrick are jaded former soldiers. May or may not have fought in the clone wars.

Rogue One seems to have all three parts of a potential rebellion in there.

There's an A-Wing in TLJ, apparently. When the Princes visited the set, it was in one of the photos with Hamill.

Give it a look or look through some wook articles. There's a lot of Star Wars history there.

Either similar to the E-wing or TIE Defender, as in a familiar but distinctive design, or something completely fresh, like A-wing and B-wing.
Or a mix of both.

I like Rebels but you guys are being ridiculous. Saw going soft for the Geonosian should've been a clue that this show is not going down The Wire route of characterization. Same with Sabine getting characterization in one episode. You guys expect way too much.
>>89653668
It's important, but I'll always be pissed about it. Rebels did many things right, but Kallus' turn was incredibly badly handled. I re-watched season 1 recently and he's a fucking psycho. He needed at least another season to slowly turn to ally.
>>89653688
This.
>>89652558
Leia would hate it but would want to destroy the SSD. Luke would want to send in a team of himself, Rey, Finn, and a couple of elite Resistance soldiers to do a surgical strike to take out Snoke.
For maximum cinematic appeal, Luke's plan would be enacted even though Leia's makes more sense.

>How the fuck is Sienar still in business anyway?
One of the hilarities about the Star Wars universe, in EU and in nu-canon, is that nations and institutions can fall, but businesses don't. The same corporations that built ships and weapons during the Great Hyperspace War are still there thousands of years later building ships and weapons for the Empire, which was how they hand-waved why everything in the EU looks similar to what we saw in the movies. The use of a Hammerhead in Rogue One suggests the company that produced the design is not only alive and well during the time of the Empire, but is still capable of producing parts and maintaining its ancient designs as well.
>>89653913

> The use of a Hammerhead in Rogue One suggests the company that produced the design is not only alive and well during the time of the Empire, but is still capable of producing parts and maintaining its ancient designs as well.
The Hammerhead is just a modern ship based on an ancient design.

Iron Squadron and Blood Sisters.
Maybe the Hondo intro episode and that Lando one.
>>89653913
I can live with that.
That said I wouldn't say the Hammerheads are the same as the old ones, but rather just a repurposed evolution of the design. More so given that they are transports in Rebels.

This, had they spent S3 breaking his faith/loyalty to the Empire and in S4 he appeared as a rebel spy it would've been much better.

On one hand, I agree on a personal level. Hell, I'd be fine with him being shipped off to Wild Space to explain his absence from the big picture.

Star Wars is bad at volume. A real world Nimitz class carrier can support 80+ aircraft of various types in its hull, and those are only about 330 meters, barely bigger than a Nebulon B or Pelta. A 1600m Star Destroyer should be able to have like 500 TIE fighters.
Is there any way Ki-adi can be shooped from >>89656053 to pic related?
>>89654826
This, they are by far the worst
>>89656033
To be fair, an absurd amount of volume is taken up by the reactor and they are not dedicated carriers to begin with.
It's more like a huge complement of fighters for a battleship instead of the regular two or three they used to carry.
But yeah SW ships thend to have very poor internal space management.
>>89656033

Frankly I'd be surprised if they kill Thrawn within Rebels at all. I feel he's going to be a Maul-esque character, where they know he's popular so they'll hold off on killing him for a good while. We're probably going to reach a point where people will start complaining that Thrawn's been around too long.
>>89657092
I think it's more believable that Thrawn survives for a long time than it was for Maul though. Thrawn's defining traits being that he is intelligent and strategic, you can expect that he has plans to get out of certain situations.
>>89657092
I think he'll probably survive until close to Endor. He probably won't be at Endor or even Jakku, but he'll meet his end somewhere in that timeframe, either a little before Endor or sometime between Endor and Jakku. I don't see them trying to fit him into the post-Jakku era or hitching him to the First Order.

I like how the inside of the hoodie is brown so the actual illusion of Jedi robes is there

>>89657176
True, but the issue with Maul is less about the believability of his survival (which isn't to say it's not also an issue with him) and more to do with there just not being anything left to do with him. Most of us were able to overlook his survival in TCW because it led to a decent story- with Rebels, it turns out he's now spent close to two decades doing nothing and now all he has left is to obsess over a kid who wants nothing to do with him, and then probably get killed by Old Ben.
