Every movie since Avengers, with the exception of Iron Man 3 and Winter Soldier, was bland and formulaic. I wish I wouldn't have to mention the godawful quips but that really is what the MCU has become. What bothers me the most is that the CGI has really decreased in quality. Either that, or the 3D in my cinemas was really fucked since Dr. Strange and Civil War had dogshit-tier CGI in them

I think the best way to describe it is that this film feels watered down by being a 2nd reboot. Instead of invoking all the classic Spider-Man characters and iconic stuff, they have to instead go the opposite direction so that the film doesn't mimic anything in the 5 films that happen before it. So no Gwen or MJ, and hell, Peter lives in a high rise apartment complex now. Not only that, but it seems that they are relying on the Avengers stuff to keep the franchise afloat instead of going to the Spider-Man source. I mean, in 10 years when people go back to watch through the MCU, they're going to notice how the Spider-Man film feels so different than the other hero films of he MCU because it's sloppy thirds.
