I'm on the side that Keith's mom is part Druid. Since Druids are Altean that would mean that he inherited just enough of their shapeshifting abilities to pass off as human.

While more far fetched, I also like the idea that Keith and Lotor's mothers are one and the same, allowing for Lotor to have an appearance closer to his classic self, giving an ample source of drama and origin for their rivalry, and maybe even a, "You belong on our side!" vibe from Lotor. In GoLion Hagar belittled him for being part Altean, and it seems clear that there's tension between the Galra and Druids. I can imagine Lotor being belittled for his Druid blood and identifying with Keith for also being a half breed. They could even figure it (Keith's ancestry) out by looking at security footage from Zarkon's ship and seeing that Keith was able to interact with Galra tech.

I want to see Sendak, I don't care how much of an asspull it is. I want to see more backstory on the Galra, more insights into their culture. I really like the glimpses we get this season. Along with the Keith stuff, the Galra stuff was the high point (which is all tied together anyway). I want to see Keith's mom, either in flashback, or still alive. I want female Galra. Seeing Earth again would be cool.

Writing wise, I want some better pacing. This show seems to move at such a fast clip, the characters suffer for it, developmental-wise.

Things I don't want are more Hunk being reduced to the fat guy jokes. His bit with Vrepit Sal was amazing, and Hunk's food thing done right. But the rest was cringy. I don't want Lotor to show up, and suddenly he's bigger and betterer than Zarkon, somehow with a radder fleet or some shit. I don't want to see the Shiro thing resolved in two episodes. I want the team to bust their asses for a while.

Season 2 showed us that not only was it a Galra pod that landed on earth, but it also had half a Galra soldier inside. That means earth could potentially reverse engineer Galra tech to the point where they have robot soldiers too.

I would love an episode where they 'think' everything is okay so Lance heads to earth while Keith and Allura look for Shiro, and Pidge and Hunk repair the castle.

I mean he had a Marmora dagger, and had some visions of a Galra ship attacking Earth, and one of the Marmorans said "welp, he activated the dagger. Dude must be part Galra." Nothing about him has changed, but all of a sudden Lance and Allura start going super racist on his ass. They have no definite proof, and how far back any potential Galra blood goes is an unknown.

You would think if Keith's history is important, he would discuss how he was raised and what he recalls and not leave it all up to an alien fever dream.

The trailer was so goddamn misleading, goddamn. I thought season 2 was going to be all about how the Paladins were separated and had to find their way to reunite, with Shiro's rescue making up the last part. Either he died or was too injured to lead, so Keith had to replace him and that some aggressive masked Garlan rebel would take Keith's place as the pilot of the Red Lion, due to Keith maturing.

Not that anon, but the trailer really made it seem like Shiro was going to die. They had him walking towards the light, despite it being a hologram memory. It even had a scene where it looks like he was stating his last words to Keith to be the new leader and another shot where Keith was piloting the Black Lion.

Hell, the very last scene of the trailer had all the Voltron members present, except for Shiro, heading out as a team. It was kind of a let down to show that this wasn't the case. Keith developing as a replacement for Shiro really didn't happen, either. It was a lot of wasted potential.
