I mean we saw that it was a group of Alteans and Galra that built Voltron, and we know that both Allura's dad and Zarkon were pilots in Voltron (it is mentioned that Altor might have been the red lion's pilot) but we don't know how many Alteans or Galra made up the rest of the limbs.

Romelle was Allura's cousin in the original series. She is from a sister planet named Pollux. Pollux and Arus didn't get along, so Romelle's royal family make an alliance with the Drule (Galra).

Lotor uses Romelle as a replacement for Allura because they look alike, but because she isn't Allura, it's not good enough for Lotor in the long run and takes her to the dungeons to be a slave. Also the Drule betray Pollux so there's that.

As a slave, Romelle meets Sven who was taken captive by the Drule as he was supposed to be getting medical attention. Together they work together to form a slave rebellion and get the fuck out of Planet Doom.

Romelle was a lot more competent than original Allura despite having some damsel moments. She also becomes Sven's waifu.

There really wasn't much Pance fuel this season. I feel there was more in season 1 even. Everyone's interactions outside of Keith/Allura and Keith/Shiro were very friendly and neutral. It's nice they got paired together for the mall episode, though. That was a really fun episode.

With the heavy focus on Keith for the most part, it doesn't surprise me.

Next season will likely focus a lot more on Lance than this one did as he deals with his inferiority complex and his desired rivalry with Keith, and being jealous of Kallura. We might even find out why Shiro was his hero.

I went over the episode with the flashbacks of Voltron being built, and I don't see any Galra females. It is hard to be 100% sure because all the male's uniforms have a 'kilt' and all the Alteans seem to wear pants, but all the Galra we see have those mohawks and seemed to have male faces. We also now know for sure that Coran helped build the Lions, the lions were built from scratch from a meteor, and that Galra Keith has a sense of humor and is an upgrade from human Keith.

I hope Black Lion stays Shiro. Keith and Red Lion are awesome together, they have a stronger bond than even Shiro and Black Lion, and Shiro strengthening that bond was an actual plot point this season.

No other lion has actually woken up on its own and actively piloted itself to help its pilot, except Red Lion who has flown to Keith multiple times and actively protected her pilot by attacking a space station when the blade guys were bullying him and putting the mental whammy on him.

Also I like the symbolism that Alfor was the red pilot and now Keith is the red pilot. Being the black lion pilot isn't about being 'the leader' its about bringing everyone together and earning their trust. Shiro understood that and that is why he was able to beat Zarkon.

In the last thread, I mentioned it before but Lance could easily ride the rails of the Kenji Kondou character development if the staff was smart.

So I just finished the season. Here are my thoughts:

-I would've liked to see at least one more Robeast. We got one brand new one, an old one without its head and some crystals growing out of it, and then ZarkEpyonat the end, which was great, but I wish there were more of them. Hopefully Season 3 will have more, but not Monster of the Week stuff.

-I wish they had played up Hunk's mechanic and science skills more. He showed he was pretty damn smart in Season 1, I wish they had kept playing that up.

-Keith's origins were handled rather well, so far. We'll probably see his mom sometime soon. She may have been the Galra who was trapped in the Weblum.

Blue Lion hasn't been piloted by anyone else besides Lance right? It was kidnapped but they didn't actually pilot it if I recall.

Also I just realized that the Galra had the Red Lion because Alfor died dueling Zarkon. Red is so possessive of Keith because she is possibly the only lion that actually had its pilot die in combat. All the rest died after putting their lions into hiding.

I hope that there is a moment where people keep trying to force Keith into the black lion only to have him say something like "The black lion is for Shiro, not me" and then Red shows up and he hops inside and beats the shit out of whatever threat they thought they needed Voltron to beat.

It didn't feel like he really matured at all. The episode was just too silly. Which is weird because they where feeding named mermaids to the giant monster.

Really is anyone else bothered by how that episode ended? All cheery like. The Queen didn't seem to care at all she sent whatserface to her death and likely many more.

Are Varkon and Veprit Sal our first time seeing civilian galra? The aliens at the mall didn't seem to have any problem with them, unlike the ones having a shitty time being ruled by military galra commanders.

Also, since the Galra's home planet is destroyed, that might be why they vary so widely in appearance. Maybe they colonize different planets and adapt their appearance depending on the environment.
