Crying is such a well-known element of Steven Universe that you could almost say it's part of the show's DNA- you can't do a parody without it.

So I say keep it, and continue to follow the pattern of nobody being exempt. But every time one of the Metaloids cries, have them give a dramatic "I KNOW NOW WHY YOU CRY, LITTLE HUMAN...." T2 style speech, with Stefanie getting increasingly annoyed as the series goes on.

The Metalloids don't have weapons like gems, instead they have different properties that relate to their metals. Some have magnetic powers, others electrical, some are good shapeshifters while others are nearly indestructible. Nichrome has electrical powers, Al is good at shapeshifting Colbalt can use magnetism. When Al and Colbalt alloy they become Colbalt aluminate who's very blue, good shapeshifter and immune to electrical attacks.

Gotta go to bed, too late to finish this. But I've got Al's backstory in mind. Pearl was in love with Rose because she was a slave class and rose gave her a sense of self-worth. Al was used for core experiments for several years after an injury qualified him to be a test subject. Copper helped to get Al out of there, however, most of the other test subjects were dead by that point or died shortly after. Al is also terrified of dying (wich is kind of opposite pearl who seems not to care what happens to her) I'll probably more thoroughly flesh out this concept at a later date.

Here's a better concept for a SU parody; Just replace Steven with this guy.

Couple of suggestions, perhaps the White Diamond analogue should be called Palladium since; while it is not commonly considered a precious metal, it is the fourth metal that is commonly used for investment purposes and is the one that usually has the highest value by weight. Also, I don't have a specific idea for what the name of the main group of metalloids should be called, but I would suggest something based off of "Rare Earth Metals".

In a distantcyberpunk universe, the human race has colonizedmultiple planets. They end up at war with a race of aliens called the metalloids. The war wages on for years and amidst it a group of metalloids rebel against their leaders and a Copper soldier kills leader Platinum. Copper and his companions retreat to earth 5. They travel the worlds together with Georgia chasing after them trying to get her daughter back. Meanwhile Characters like Tungsten are sent on a mission to hunt down and retrieve Copper’s old core to gain the information contained inside.

Unlike gems their shapeshifting is only really restricted by how long it takes them to melt and reform (so higher melting point metals take longer to shape shift) the humanoid metalloids look human out of an attempt to blend in better (also there are humans on some planet that may have weird skin tones due to environmental factors or evolution. As far as corruption, damages to their core can result in various problems from being stuck in a liquid state to unable to move. And core viruses can result in mental symptoms.

How about the homeworld experiments are what made the corrupted ones, and over time they start to resemble metal objects they see. Ones that have been locked away for hundreds of years might look like suits of armor and ones that have recently come in contact with civilization look like modern machines like cars, trains, park benches, or anything made out of metal.

The equivalent to the fusion experiments should be man's attempt to harness their power, and that resulted on ones that look more humanoid with fragmented minds because they were melted down.

Steven universe wants to be a funny cute slice of life. I'm not annoyed that that's what it wants to do, I'm annoyed that it's bad at it. This is really just taking some of the concepts I like and recreating it into something with a more solid plot. On an added note I have no problem with the female cast, but I gender flipped the show to draw some attention to some of the sexist double standards that come up in SU that get over looked. If Greg was a woman people would bitch that the mother wasn't allowed to raise steven for example. Steven would be sexist if you made him a dumbass little girl. As a result, certain things are changed. Stefanie is much smarter than steven, Georgia raised her daughter herself and is more involved in the story. Characters like Al have to be handled differently because the way we treat and respond to male characters is inherently different from how we treat female characters.
