Well this is sort of be fucked up but what I'm going to type can be considered "truth". I sudo-worked at Disney with number crunching with certain aspects of the Parks, what makes the money and what's most popular.

Cleaning, maintaining and keeping the actresses or the "Princess Friends" as it were cost money. Each month we can get a estimate at which Princesses are the most popular, who deals with the most guest/customers/visitors how many autographs they receive, pictures taking

The top of the list are our "A-Listers" which are all white, blonde, and blue-eyed. Go figure; so that would be Elsa, Cinderella, Alice (She's not a Princess but shes so popular she's considered one behind the scenes due to profit) Aurora, Rapunzel, Belle and Ariel (last two aren't blonde obviously but are in the category)

The rest are B-Listers with C-Listers being Tiana (the worst), Pocahontas, Mulan and now Moana (only had preview data for her, Im doing something else job wise but might be coming back) but she may be bumped for a bit but probably be brought back down to C-List

If you stay in C-List or to long the Actresses playing them is un-hired/fired or put on temp leave until they do "Long Lost Friends"

As of right now Tianas Villian is already in Long Lost Friends Category and only appears during rare events because he's not popular enough. Tiana is very close to being taken out of the parks as well and has already been removed from two of them. The only thing keeping her in, even though shes a net lost is because shes the only black princess but even then shes not as popular with black girls like Cinderella or Elsa (which is kinda fucked up)

Each Princess has a handful of "Friends". They'll start knocking them down, then place them in C-List or move them to other Parks.This is all focused on Disneyland (I didn't mention it)

For example, Epcot is considered the Training Area for everyone who wants to work as a actor/actress for a Prince/Princess Role or a Mascot Role. I'm trying to simplify it and apologies for the confusion. Mulan will always be at Epcot and Pocahontas will always or most of the time be there with Jane from Tarzan at Animal Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom makes the most money and is what Im focusing on.

So even if someone is placed in a C-List and then into a Long Lost Friend, they're technically still around because those people are then put into a mascot or do something else.

Nobody goes for the mascots and princesses anyway. I've had a Disney pass most of my life and can't think of the last time I actually stopped to acknowledge a mascot/face more than just a passing stare as I walk by to the next thing. Even Villains night when all the cool ones come out is pointless because lines go 2+ hours for a picture.

They'd probably think you're more weird because you're not a child, not because you're a minority.

That's odd, when I had my Disney Pass for 2 years I made a point of trying to see a lot of the characters since most of the rides/entertainment weren't that fun for an adult. You have a few like Space and Big Thunder Mountain but that's like 2 hours out of your day on the worst days. So really I'm curious what you go to Magic Kingdom to do.

Well I was talking Disneyland as I'm a CA resident. But honestly I go for the atmosphere, having been raised on Disney. Most of the time I don't even go on the "thrill" rides. I love the Dark Rides most. Girl I've been going with makes it twice as fun too though to be fair, I laugh harder with her than I ever have in my life.

Just something about being at Disneyland that makes me feel good.

It's learned behavior in the service industry honestly. Eventually it breaks you and you dislike even dealing with certain kinds of people at all. But generally they'll still do it without a problem. Unless there's some deep rooted issues Alice isn't going to refuse to pose with a little black girl. I feel you about the atmosphere it just feels magical, cliche as that may be. For me a big part of that are the characters, especially the ones you don't get to see as often.

My favorite interaction was the one time I went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Scrooge McDuck was out meeting with people with Donald and Daisy, met with the latter two first just bullshiting around saying how much I loved their movies and what not but apologized and said my favorite member of the Duck family had to be Scrooge, having just read a lot of his comics after seeing Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck storytimed here. After I had finished saying that Scrooge just grabbed me in a big hug and wouldn't let go for a solid 10 seconds.

My only regret is the fact that Scrooge wasn't doing autographs that night, so I'll have to go back to get his at some point.

Actually you just reminded me of a great memory from my childhood. I had a crush on Alice and went up to her with my aunt. Alice was a sweetheart and got me really into finding the White Rabbit. I knocked on the White Rabbit's door with her and when we decided it wasn't home she said there was no choice but to go on the ride and look for him and she took me to the front of the line and put me on the Alice ride and told me to come find her after I got off and tell her if I found him.

Yeah it's been like that a lot at Disney World with just how busy it's gotten. Everything has lines, some of the Princesses that have permanent meet and greets even have Fast Pass+ options so you can skip it. The most fun I've had has typically been 30 minutes before closing on a late night when finally everyone has filtered out of the park and all the more odd meet and greets like Scrooge or Jack Skellington have only like 1 or 2 people wanting to get pictures.

She goes to the park every other fucking day to stock and record the same actor who plays Gaston for hours, and started a Youtube channel dedicated to him.

Shes not even a major Gaston fan. Shes after the guy who plays him. It's even gone to the point were she follows the same male actor wherever he goes even when hes not playing Gaston. He got assigned to play Prince Eric once, and her creepy ass followed and recorded him there as well.

All I know is that on my 12th birthday I went to take a photo with Belle , and I put my arm around her waist to take the photo like you would any other character. This was before hover hand had become an internet meme. The Belle backs away from me while saying "ah ah ah"and wanted me to loop my arm around hers for the photo. I've been to Disneyland once but never interacted with any of the characters despite seeing a couple of them.

Gaston and the Mad Hatter/Alice seem to have the most funny interactions from videos I've seen, makes me wish I'd gone up to the Mad Hatter when I saw him.

I could swear I read an internet article or blog or something from a guy who played Jack Sparrow at Disneyland for a while, and I also remember that in it he was talking about how he picked up a small group of middle-aged women who would always hang around near his spot.

Also that he was dating an Ariel at the time, and got a black mark against him by Disney because somebody managed to snap a picture of the two of them talking while she was out of her tail thing and then posted it online or reported it or something.

I was in the tunnels walking towards main street once and I overheard a snow white talking with her attendant. of course I have no idea about the context of the situation but the only thing I overheard from snow was "that's why we can't take in any refugee to this country"

What you are describing sounds like someone can be "demoted" from a good white princess to a bad minority princess. In part because Disneyland is considered safer to experiment with because a good chuck of their visitors are Passholders and locals that have been there tons of times. Disney World is more of a "vacation destination" and has a higher percentage of first time, and quite possibly, only time visitors. They want to see all the classic rides just how the commercials showed them. That's why WDW doesn't get any holiday ride overlays besides turning Jungle Cruise to Jingle Cruise. Disney doesn't even own Tokyo Disneyland so they can do whatever the fuck they want, really.

Considering one of Jasmine's friends is also friends with Anna, not necessarily! I'm not that anon, but I believe they're referring to certain characters being phased out, typically due to budget cuts? Which happens not only to face but fur characters. Even though Stitch is still really popular with kids, he pretty much only does occasional pop ups at Studios and character dining at Ohana. Character meets have been pulled across the board over the past year, to pretty much the bare minimum they can get away with. That's why we're down to like one and a half parades.

It's funny because the HMH overlay was offered to MK, but they didn't want it for the reasons you mentioned, so Tokyo said "hey we'll take it" and the rest is history.

The thing that's crazy to me is California has always been the staunchly conservative park. The people riot any time they try to take out or replace anything. Florida is usually the one changing things willy nilly and taking stuff out like the Snow White ride. We still have the original horror show out here in CA.
