The emblems are colored using the character's theme color. All of them. Ruby's rose badge is silver in the show, but RT sells a red version as the official emblem vinyl. Same with the rest of the ones they sell.

Another example, Ren's is pink, despite the only canon showing being white on his guns, because his theme is pink, like his name which means "lotus".

It makes no sense to color Neo's black.

Blake and Ruby both needed time to travel to their respective destinations.
Weiss is the odd one out, but I think her plot is going to be more reliant on Atlesian politics so that's a timing issue that's out of her hands
That and it would be jarring to have every Weiss scene be a flash back, and I can't really think of a good reason to do it that way

Also it kind of pisses me off that there's so much there that doesn't make sense. There's 10 question marks on this thing that basically represent holes in the series' mythology. Normally I wouldn't mind things like this, but the show keeps calling my attention to it without delivering any answers.

There are episodes with the sole purpose of dumping info in our faces and this shit still feels like an incoherent mess. So now we need even more exposition pushed in our faces. Most likely drip fed to us while we dick around with Juane and company.

Ruby is easier to justify on that they didn't set off from Patch until 3-5 months after the Fall of Beacon.

The Fall took place late summer, early autumn, and RNJR left Patch sometime in winter.

Blake is much harder to track, until you remeber she was injured pretty badly by Adam.

Depending on weather she waited until she'd somewhat recovered or scarpered immediately, she could have been going cross country injured and slowly before getting on the boat. And who knows how long she had been on the boat.

Blake traveled incognito on a boat all the way to Menagerie, which is basically Remnant Australia. Even if we assume she cut across Solus to get the boat from the eastern shore facing Menagerie, it would take a while just to get there let alone get there on the boat. And then there's the issue of Grimm attacks, so the boat would stick to the shallows for as long as it could to stay safe.
Ruby managed to get to Anima, and is apparently near Mistral/Haven's borders as of episode 6 but we have no idea how she got there from Vale. I assume she also got a boat (if air travel was an option she could have arrived straight at Haven) and then landed in a port somewhere on Anima before heading to Haven on foot. Which, in the show, is highlighted as Ruby not really thinking it through or understanding the distances involved

Basic summary;

There are 7 (semi)sentient swords that have been passed down through the Arc family.

For the first time in decades or centuries, all seven are being weilded at once by the 7 Arc sisters.

Jaune, as the odd man out, is chosen to be the Glyph Bearer, whose job is basically to destroy the swords if they get stolen.

Instead the swords possess the owners and go on a rampage and Jaune, who has an entirely different skill set than canon, must fight his sisters in order to set them free.

The Yang romance is handled in a pretty similar way to Technician in that its a fairly slow burn.

Qrow isn't going to die just because he's Ruby's mentor or whatever. He's going to be crippled and out of the fight, but he's still got a role to play as mentor to the whole of RNJR now he's not there to fight for them, and he's their only window into the wider plot. He still hasn't explained who Salem is for example.
