I can't be the only one who's just not intimidated by this right? I mean what are the chances really that this gonna work, whats really gonna happen to Alexandria and the rest of the communities? Just from a writing standpoint one of the problems with the early parts of the series is how they keep finding new places to settle down then something fucks it up and the go find a new place and the cycle continues, I doubt they're going to go back to doing that again.

You never had that in the comics, and he showed up there and took less than half of the supplies like he said he would - just so happened it was serious meds. In the series he said "I take half of it and half is whatever I decide half to be".

That sort of thing. Instead of having him be a guy who seems to be craving for some recognition in the end (they removed him actually apologizing to Carl on the eye thing, the scene where Rick punched the shit out of him and he said he had stuff to make up for, etc), and the series just emphasizes him going "yeah I'll kill you".

The only way explosives would work to kill thousands of zombies head-on is if you had a huge number of military grade stuff. I'm talking enough air strikes, missile volleys and tank shells to last for hours. If they're going to use explosives, their best bet is to get the zombies into a position like >>88884209 and demolish the buildings so that they fall right on top of them. That probably won't kill many, but it should do enough to slow them down and maybe cause them to splinter off into smaller groups.

But of course that would take an enormous cache of explosives, plenty of prep-time and someone very knowledgeable about demolition and architecture. They have none of those things.

Zombie bones and gunk would make that machinery break down almost instantly. Plus farming equipment would leave the driver heavily exposed. I suppose they could armor it, but that can only do so much against a horde. And besides all that, they probably don't have anything to fuel it with. If they didn't use up all their diesel, it's probably gone bad. In theory they could have been making biodiesel (fuel made from corn--it works with regular diesel engines without any modifications), but I haven't seen any characters mention that so I'm just going to assume they never got to that point.
