Not really as you're also ignoring a lot of the context of japanese animation. Most anime studios definitely are much smaller than RT with exceptions being the bigger ones and even then it's hardto say if those have as big offices as RT does. They also have to make it within a smaller timeframe RT has which also includes things like recording and PR.

Yeah... Are you saying they might have been brainwashed or something? Either way, here's a thought. Sacrifice might be Raven's theme. Which is all about the singer's decision that they aren't going to be the sacrifice for someone else's plot, which would fit Raven's neutrality in the Ozpin and Salem conflict. Perhaps her being sent to work for Salem, possibly under Ozpin's orders, was the intended? And she happened to survive it and decided she was done with both sides? So, the symbol was she represented her when she was working with them or something? And that's why Yang knows it? I don't know.

Well, it would definitely be nice some more Faunus racism in the show proper. Although, I have to point out that Qrow talks about the Faunus in a way that is rather distant for someone whose twin sibling is one. I mean, they are kind of estranged, but that always seems weird to me when that idea is brought up. Although that's probably more on the writing than the people theorizing. So, sorry about that.

I could see it. Heck. My theory for the Faunus origin was that they were once animals with aura, like Zwei or something, that somehow got "uplifted" through some combination of Dust, human aura, and magic. It most likely is just some handwaved with magic, but I just thought it was interesting there's this out of place cape like thing on his crow form's head when Qrow is of course known for his little cape. I just like the idea that one of, if not the main, reasons Ozpin started to suppress knowledge of magic was bleed over effects like that, where the magic increasingly takes hold and amalgamates people and objects together.

To he honest, I'm not a fan of how they handled Weiss' family, she said she had friends and family executed by the White Fang, but she has a rather large family (and it seems like every part of that thread was dropped.) That does seem fair. Since there do seem to be abilities those with active aura share, like being superhumanly strong. But the the difference between magic and semblance is that semblances do drain your aura when used while magic does not. Unless you're trying to say that everyone with an activated semblance is doing it wrong and that's why it costs them aura.

Putting the primary and secondary protagonists together does seem to be working as well as "White Rose"

It's hard to say chemistry as her interactions with JNR make her feel more of a leader than anything.

It's cause of how the show split them up so people divide the show now into Ruby's story/Weiss' story/Blake's story/Yang's story (and I guess Oscar's story)

Doing this makes you unconsciously push yourself into Ruby's perspective when it's her turn which makes her interaction with the "side characters" seem more genuine.

Compare this to earlier volumes where there is no clear person to follow which makes it hard to see actual chemistry as the viewer in the show has no one to selfinsert to thus interact with. The end result makes all the characters feel shoved in and needing screentime.

I actually like Weiss more now that shit's going down with her family. I think it's because we're now seeing the origin of the character she will ultimately develop into: she is leaving her father's company behind to forge her own legacy for the Schnee name, like her older sister before her.

Yang losing her arm was such a huge lesson in humility that it broke her. Ruby's innocence was lost during the Battle of Beacon when she helplessly watched Pyrrha die. Now it's Weiss' turn to experience a major turning point in her life.

I don't think Blake's had an experience like this yet, has she? I don't think being present for Yang's dismemberment had quite the same impact on her, since this isn't the first time she's run away from something.

It's cause WBY's subplots don't seem to have any relation whatsoever to the main plot of the show which is Salem and the Grimm. For most, it's just needless distraction until WBY reunite with Ruby and go be part of the main plot again. This is most likely the reason most people want Weiss to go and look for Ruby like above because, in the end, they're not really a part of the show and it's plot anymore.

The problem with that is when Weiss escapes her family, she wouldn't really be that much of a different character compared to say Yang. She'd still be the Weiss we know only I guess poor and with no family backing her.

The thing is that Ruby was the only one with a clear end goal until recently. Blake's whole thing was just "go home" with no plan after that. Yang was "force self out of bed every day." We just now see that Weiss is ready to get out from under her father's thumb and the shadow of her family name, but she has a long way to go before that happens.

Problem being, none of that has anything to do with the main plot. The team is split up, but it still feels like Ruby is the only one pursuing and actively making progress towards a goal that relates to what's going on. WBY are just dealing with their own comparatively minor personal shit in the background.

Ozpin's semblance is likely the ability to attach his aura/soul to someone in some category at the moment of death.
