I also think Rogue One was a test to what people would like. It pleased pretty much everyone: prequel fans and OT (ignoring RLM, Mike, and Greedo) fans. I didn't hear a single complaint about Hayden's portrayal (his likeness for the charred body) of Anakin in the film. Disney is not stupid. They could pump out films for different demographics of PT fans and OT fans. This film proves this could work.

I don't see why that's not possible but it depends on the average movie goer. Most people want to see what they're familiar with. The most they could give us fans who want to see Old Republic is a video game or book.

I wouldn't mind playing a game completely alien of TOR/KOTOR set during the height of the Sith Empire or during the civil war they destroy each other. You could play as a fledgling Jedi Knight allying with broken Republic troops to destroy the Sith empire. But that sounds too much like empire vs rebels.

Bane is supposed to be huge, like 7 foot, and massivley muscled since he grew up on a conventional mining world.

He is also supposed to wear the special mask because of the orbalisks. Same with the gauntlets and boots.

He also uses a CURVED saber hilt, because he helped pioneer the delicate form changes required to weild one as a master swordsman.

I'm the opposite. His old backstory was too mopey and self-pitying. That was one of my biggest issues with his old backstory, it makes him a perpetual victim and none of what happens is his fault. The Huk, then the Jedi, then the Sith, all make him into what he is with basically no fault on his part. That's just boring.

In the new story, Grievous's fall comes from his own wounded pride and eternal frustration over his own shortcomings. That alone makes him more compelling than the old backstory for me

It also plays much better with his vain personality. Legends had to make up an explanation about his brain being tampered with during reconstruction to explain why he went form Proud Honorable Noble Savage to Snidely Whiplash, and it just raises questions because what is the point of going through all this bullshit to force this guy to do your bidding if you're just going to brainwash him into evil anyway?

The problem, for me at least, is that CW seemed averse to showing that part. Make him a coward that only wins through underhanded tactics, sure, but you have to remember to actually show him *win through underhanded tactics* every so often if you're going to give him that much screentime so the audience isn't wondering how the hell this chucklefuck isn't dead or demoted by his own side.

He was written like a throwaway villain, but throwaway villains need to be thrown away or they stop making sense. IIRC Grievous managed two jedi kills over the course of the entire series, and spent the rest of the time falling flat on his face.

But they actually do. He defeated and captured two Jedi masters that way. He's twice forced Obi-Wan to run. He only beat Ventress by cheating and going back on his agreement to honor the result of their fight (and even laughed while doing it). If you insist that he only lost on the show, you haven't watched past the first season.
