What's this? What's this? There's /co/hristmas everywhere. We're at 96% gifted! Can we make it to 100%?
Grab some cocoa, turn on the Christmas music, get comfy, and hang out with some /co/mrades as we share stories and get into the holiday spirit.
As previous years share your Amazon wishlist and some random Anon may purchase a holiday gift for you. Be sure to gift another Anon in return so we can spread the cheer far and wide.

=============================
Alright folks here it is my final puzzle!
Everything you need to answer the riddle is in this post (well in a way). This puzzle is so easy to do all you have to do is answer my question. But before you do that you may wish to read this

Happy Holidays /co/!
How are you guys doing? I live in the Heat Miser territory so I'm fucking melting.
Anyway I'll repost these so they can get a little more attention.

I finish work tomorrow - I went to my work Christmas meal last night, and aside from leaving my wallet in the restaurant and sitting next to the one guy who loves talking about politics (and has a nasally voice so even if he's NOT talking to you, it is physically impossible to tune him out) it was really good fun.
>>88585707
It's 4 days until Christmas - odds are everyone's busy getting ready. I've been wrapping up the last couple of presents.
>>88563783
Good evening, ladies and gentlement of /co/, it seems like you've all done a great job identifying the songs from the contest except for #2. Here's your final hint for that one:It's an arrangement from a Mannheim Steamroller album.

>>88586204
I'm waiting for a friend to finish fourze so we can start Gaim.
At the moment I'm watching V3 andGhost.
I've wrapped (most) of my gifts now, this year's theme is "if I use enough string people won't notice by shoddy wrapping skills". Now I just have to come up with some rhymes too.
CONQUEST of the planet of the apes
is starting up right now!
This is the one that RISE was a remake of.
>>88586871
When get to Gaim, if you don't already, I'd suggest watching the movies. At least the summer movie.
Ho Ho Ho people.
How is everyone doing today?

oh, I almost forgot, also made some christmasy art.
Lists are updated, we're up to 201 registered and 10 ungifted, a 95% gifting rate.
>>88587484
for going up 25 lists since yesterday the thread sure is moving slow.
>>88586742Exactly why I solved four of the five.
My classmates and I are having a argument about what the "real" version of Auld Lang Syne is because apparently the arrangement that Celtic Woman (among others) use isn't correct because it's too slow... We had this argument a few weeks ago too but that time it was over Little Drummer Boy instead.
>>88588238
>too slow
Most songs from that time period weren't written with a specific BPM. That's a relatively modern practice.
>>88586742
Sadly Screw-On Head is out of stock, I picked something for him that'll get there before Christmas.
>>88588336
Yeah consistent musical notation only really became a thing within the last 150 years.
>>88588336
I said as much but apparently it's still "wrong" and should sound differently, though none of them can tell me exactly how it should sound.

Hopefully people will all get gifts, hard times included...I'm lucky that I was able to gift twice cause it was a decent year financially, I am hoping someone will maybe spread the cheer to me since emotionally it's been a hard one and surprise gifts can make the difference in a day, but I think the goal we should all be striving for is everyone gets a little Christmas joy regardless of their current situation. Just means the fortunate ones have the opportunity to take an extra Santa tic on the list.

To feel a touch more festive, I've decided to read A Christmas Carol for the first time. I'm not a massive fan of Dickens truth be told but I'm a third into it and I'm enjoying it.
>>88605287
Favorite thing about that novel is it was meant to be a horror story and now we get to watch muppets dance to it.
>>88605398
Very faithfully dance to it
>>88605450
True. Now I want to watch it. Damn Netflix doesn't have that or any good Christmas specials though...
>>88605514
I thought Netflix did.
Well, it used to...and they cut out Young Scrooge and his Ex girlfriend's song
Goddamn HydraChristmas, you really did go all out. Thank you so much. This is amazing.
So I guess I'd better give back one last time, because what the hell does a bank account balance really mean anyway? So merry Christmas, 2TG1N8858WAMY. Your gift should arrive before Christmas?
>>88605287
Keep an eye on your mailbox, you should hopefully be getting something on Saturday...

>>88606024
Hell yeah.
Gonna be Last Man Standing, Streets of Fire, and The Warriors
I don't have a list or anything but I've been driving uber all week so I can get something for you anons
got $40 deposited in the account today
>>88606034
And now we begin!
>>88606084
Feel free to check out the ungifted list
pastebin.com/PnsZCHHH
>>88606084
Wow dude! You should make a list with at least a few things to return the favor.
Just a note - look at the ungifted list yeah, but a few of those have been gifted, so make sure you look at the thread too, since it hasn't been updated in a couple hours.
>>88605839
Glad they all got to you in good condition.
>>88606829
Isss that literally a recolor of Robot Santa from Futurama?
>>88606315
...ok
no need to do anything last year someone got me Jimmy Corrigan which made me change my life around
I'm just trying to help spread the same cheer
plus its forcing me to socialize with people so it isn't the absolute worst thing in the world
better than bowling alone and shitposting I suppose1XOEGF5OC9WOP
>completely forgot about participating this year even though I've gifted the last two years
>unexpectedly found a 400 page Little Nemo omnibus for $25 and bought it for myself
Welp, I guess I'm really not that bummed about missing out but I hope you all have a great Christmas and get some nice stuff too.
Streets of Fire is starting now
Who else posted more than one list?
>>88607992
That's actually awesome. Do you have a link to it, or at least an ISBN?
>>88608022
That's not nice, anon.
>>88608156
I wound up buying it because it doesn't seem like any Nemo books have been uploaded/ripped online, it's smaller than those $100+ books but I thought it was worth it since it has more comics than any other collection.
https://www.amazon.com/Little-Nemo-1905-1914-Winsor-McCay/dp/3822863009/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482443277&sr=8-1&keywords=little+nemo+1914
The publisher is also going to be releasing another Nemo book but there isn't any info on its size yet. It's $80 on Amazon but Target has it for $43.

>>88605918
Oh wow, thank you, that's so kind! Sorry I didn't get a chance to reply to the original thread. I've only just seen it, family commitments have been keeping me away from participating more in these threads than I would have liked.
Expected an overly exited post when it comes up with an accompanying photo!
>>88607700
Merry Christmas anon. You're a true gent. If you fancy it, can you elaborate on this Jimmy Corrigan thing? I'm interested in the story if you want to tell it.
this seems like the right place to ask, are orphans and sick kids still a thing? Is there any way I can donate some of my old comics to them?
>>88608688
>are orphans and sick kids still a thing?
until the end of time. you probably have a local children's hospital, looking into that.
>>88608688
>are orphans and sick kids still a thing?
According to the Bible, it is so. I don't know how books go down with Toys for Tots or similar charities, but I'm sure you could donate them to any local orphanage.
The truth about our dear Riddler has been revealed
>>88608688
Worth checking up what's in your local area. Plenty of places would accept donations, hospitals especially.
>>88608781
I'd read that
>Order anon a gift last friday
>arrives yesterday
>Order a dvd last Thursday
>Wont arrive till next year potentially
>Anons gift to me is still not here after two weeks
Seems like there's a shipping overload, maybe? I know the shipping warehouses pay double, or maybe even triple this time of year.

>>88609360
It's pure chaos this time of year. My brother's gift didn't even arrive within the very generous time estimate it was given (1-21/12) and I've had to pick up packages on the other side of my city because the postal service "lost" them somewhere along the way.
The Warriors is starting now
>>88610088
And we are back online!
>>88604472
Stan Sakai was right. Children are a blessing.
Family is coming up tomorrow, so I'm wrapping up Christmas prep and watching the last of my favorite Christmas specials.
The Justice League episode gets me every time.
>>88605548
>and they cut out Young Scrooge and his Ex girlfriend's song
I researched that a bit when we watched our DVD copy last year. Turns out that the version released prior to the Blu-Ray/newer DVD release is the only one to include the song in newer formats - and only if you choose the full-screen option. The reason behind that is that the song was included on VHS releases (which I guess they ripped for the DVD's full-screen mode), but cut in theaters because Disney felt the song bogged down the movie and would cause kids to lose interest partway through.

Imagine my surprise opening the package and seeing those books. I think I said out loud "that little sneak...this is awesome!" Thanks much, Zum!
>>88610571
I know, I remember we talked about that last year.
It's dumb.
Yeah, I thought it was boring as a kid...but I was never bored per se.

I know we all love Jingle All the Way, so I just wanted to let everyone know it will be coming on Freeform at 8:55pm EST.

You are most welcome. I hope you enjoy them. I finally had time to start the volume you gifted me this morning and it's great. The students, especially Mina, coming up with their potential hero names gave me a good chuckle.
>>88610728
Neat. I had that, and a ton of other Capcom manga, on my list last year after reading Megaman: Megamix/Gigamix. Darkstalkers has always been interesting to me, but I've yet to play any of the games. I only know them from Capcom crossover stuff.

Finishing up my Christmas special binge with what might be my favorite /co/ Christmas special: Low Tidings from Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

They could be words, damn well might be.
rrrr, getting cockblocked on streams is apparently becoming a tradition. Was going to stream a movie yesterday but there was a planet of the apes marathon being already advertised, was going to move it to tonight and there's another marathon already going on too!
Unfortunately this means I won't be able to screen any more movies for /co/, I have my office dinner tomorrow night and I'm heading to my parents the day after.
>>88611673
I don't see why you can't stream at the same time as someone else and give people options for what they'd like to watch.
>>88611673

There were several streams going on last year.
>>88611704

The shipping times depend on the seller, the shipping company, and where it's going. There's a lot of cases that 3P sellers won't even have the item in stock, they'll just order it when you order it and extend the shipping times to compensate.

is there any more extreme 90s Christmas stuff? Lobo was awesome
>>88615522
Now, what is that? Is it an original story or a collection or what?
>>88615530
Migraines are no joke and screw anybody who claims otherwise. I get them every few years or so, which is a blessing compared to my brother who gets them almost every other month. I had particularly nasty one back in '07 where I left my 7:45AM Psych class on Thursday to go home with a headache which grew into migraine, fell asleep on the couch a few hours later, only to wake up late Sunday night to my roommate and her boyfriend having loud sex in the next room. When they came out they were both horrified to discover that I'd been on the couch the whole time, so I pretended to be asleep to save them from any awkward attempts at explanation. To this day, I wonder if they may've started in the living room, completely oblivious to my sleeping self mere feet away, before moving into her room.

People always tell me to just walk it off.

I've had relatives with migraines and they certainly aren't a joke either.

Also got an A on that Watchmen Color paper, so that was extra nice.
>>88615841
Yokai was my first Usagi book and, though it apparently features the return of a supporting character from a previous installment, I had no issues enjoying the story.
Space Usagi is essentially a sci-fi alternate universe even though it's technically meant to be Usagi's distant descendant.
Well I need to decide if I'm gonna not sleep tonight and try to get several Christmas Presents made or try to go to bed early and do it all tomorrow.
>>88615690
Damn Zum, I thought I had an impressive sleep record with just shy of 22 hours. But I have been up around 70 hours straight once, even started hallucinating the last few hours. Finally slept when my legs gave out.
On my little brother's birthday earlier this month, we got into reminiscing about Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers after I explained the origin of his being named Jason.
All that and the mention of other Toku stuff in our threads had me interested in checking out the original Japanese version of MMPR. Have you guys watched any of Zyuranger and, if so, would you recommend it? I saw that Shout! Factory has done DVD releases in the US for it.
>>88616123

We're not far to the bump limit, so to help speed this along I'll answer any questions I can about Amazon as a former employee.
>>88617377
I hear they treat their employs like shit, just to make things that much better for their customers. Can you confirm? Been thinking of getting a job in a local Amazon warehouse. Should I?
>>88617489
They have some crazy standards. Like any company the longer you work for them the better at the job they expect you to be. But it gets to a point that no one can be that good.
Call centers metrics are all based on how many yes/no responses you get from your call/chat/email contacts as well as an automated system that judges your voice quality and general tone with your customers.
Fulfillment centers, warehouses, are more physically judged. Making it so you have so many boxes you have to fill in a set space of time. They over heat in the summer and almost freeze over in the winter. You walk 10+ miles per day, I did walmart night stocking and that was only averaging 6 miles per day. Also they have crazy restrictive guidelines and if you step out of bounds, some times literally because of automated product movers having set driving lanes, you get reprimanded.
Then they have a pip system that the first time you mess up they write you up and put you under a magnifying glass. So it doesn't matter if you've been there 3 years you used the wrong policy so they start looking over your history and find any other minor infractions to bring up.
Generally if you get on a PIP plan you have less than 2 months there because they make your work hell until you quit or you mess up bad enough they shitcan you.
They're in a bit of trouble right now as an employee in Washington jumped off the building shortly after getting his PIP coaching since he knew what would happen with his job.
>>88617648
Ok, so fuck Amazon. Where else should I seek gainful employment. haha
>>88617733
Honestly all depends on your area. I've done a bit of everything at this point and currently make frames for Michaels. Ya gotta find a place that actually cares for their employees, I'd recommend stay away from Walmart unless you really need a job, then work there the minim time to find another employer.
As for Amazon it's not too bad if you can make it into leadership or if you work for someone that only works an Amazon contract and isn't really them.
>>88617733
I worked at Panera for two years while I was going through grad school, and if you don't mind the usual customer shittiness that comes with working at a restaurant, it's not bad. They do a good training program, and are on the ball about promoting people up the ladder if you show interest and aren't complete shit.
Like any other job, it really depends on the management situation though. I've worked at locations that have amazing managers who I still swing by and say hi to when I'm in town. And I've also worked at locations with managers who were dicks who played favorites on the staff, and once all decided to take a smoke break at the same fucking time, making it impossible to help a customer who needed a coupon discount while I was tracking their dumb asses down.
>>88617810
Other than Amazon, and Walmart, pretty much the only decent job around here is with Nissan, and I don't really think I'd include Walmart with the other two.
>>88617916
>if you don't mind the usual customer shittinessI'm the autistic, NEET, retard 4chan warned you about, so I would definitely not be able to hold a job where I had to deal with the public every day.
>>88618036
I've heard good things about working for Fred Meyers. Honestly working freight isn't too bad, though if you get stuck loading/emptying trucks is one of the hardest things I've had to do.
Try looking for mills, most still pay their janitors $15 an hour here.
Posting my list again, so everyone knows I'm not just some pump and dump asshole, but mostly just to bump us from page 7.3P0C6U2HY8QXH
>>88618080
>loading/emptying trucks is one of the hardest things I've had to do
I worked in a BonTon fulfillment center/warehouse for about four months before our daughter was born. You got minimum wage because everyone but the floor supervisors, H.R., and maintenance were considered seasonal, no matter how long you worked. The people were mostly friendly, but hauling truck shipments in and out or lugging around what was at least a hundred pound steel cart loaded up with a ridiculous amount of overpriced clothing for eight hours a day was wearisome, especially when they expect everybody to meet some sort of high quota because of the holidays. There was one lady that somehow supposedly always met her quota, but then I'd constantly catch her perched in a lower rung of the shelving somewhere goofing off.
>>88618779
That lady was probably one of the reason people get empty packages and/or the entirely wrong items sent to them.
But loading/unloading trucks I did was at Walmart and for a meat processing plant. Walmart was several times per day fast paced with a conveyor belt and people unloading onto pallets. The meat plant was a little crazy seeing how I would move 600+lbs of un-cured bacon every other day.
And my back was almost always out while I worked at the meat plant. Just too much repetitive heavy lifting. And having to load a truck to find it out of balance and have to unload it and then restack it all.
I remember these threads.
I thought mods got rid of them.

>work retail, which involved everything from cashiering to stocking to counting cash to fucking trucks
>already worked 40 hours one week
>get in at 10:30am, expecting to work until 6:30pm, then go home and eat, study, and sneak in a few shitposts
>truck pulls into our dock, have to help get the pallets off
>for some reason, we haven't been sending pallets back, and have large stock another store wants, so the truck has to be refilled with excess stuff
>shift change leaves me with a team full of petite women
>when the truck is 80% loaded, driver strolls up and tells us it's off-balance
>everyone else is too physically tired to work, even if they're only a few hours into their shift
>stay until 11pm fixing this shit, finally get to bed at 1:30am
>have to get up at 4am to be back for the 5:30am cash count and shift
Nobody cares about this story, and I've long since ended up in the fascinating world of office jobs, but I hate trucks all the same.

>>88618036
I worked at a Walmart grocery DC for a few years and can confirm it's proper shit. Their setup is god awful making it way more stressful on the employees. I can't speak for every location, but our managers played favorites so much it wasn't funny. I eventually walked out because I hurt my back due to their stupid setup and when I tried to report it to the managers they told me I wasn't allowed to. Went to the next managers up and was taken to the doctor for x-rays where I was told my back was all fucked up and I was out of work for 2 months. When I went back those managers were all still there, no repercussions, so I left.
>>88619950
Ferbus is a national treasure. I personally haven't seen any KR series past W, though I'm familiar with them all. You could really just jump into any one where you feel the costumes are coolest. Kuuga, Kabuto, Agito, W are good choices. Or you could start with Black and move into Black RX, which I think was the basis for Saban's Masked Rider, like how Zyuranger/Dairanger/Kakuranger was for MMPR.
