Should Respawn make a Boba Fett game and just have it be Titanfall without the Titans?

Instead of Snoke, they should have had Antje Traue (faora in man of steel) play the Emperor's daughter and she be the big bad behind the scenes of the new trilogy.

Rogue One only confirms it. JEJ is too old to voice Vader. I suggest moving forward they use a blend of him and a good Vader voice actor. Perhaps Matt Sloan, the VA of Vader in the Force Unleashed games.
>>
>>88568322
Well JEJ is like 85 years old so they're going to have to replace him real soon no matter what

They're meant specifically for in-atmosphere fighting and seem to have only been on Scarif as some kind of new prototype

The guy who voiced Vader in GB and EaW (not FoC cause they got Matt Sloan) did excellent. The voice actor for Solo in EaW was fantastic though. i thought it was ford for a moment
>>

Did you play Battlefront? Matt Sloan's delivery is fucking horrible in that. His Vader voice sucks, was only amusing for a while in the early Chad Vader stuff.

>Did you ever hear the tragedy of Saint Nicholas the Kind? I thought not. It's not a story the Humbugs would tell you. It's a Christmas legend.

>Saint Nicholas was a Kind Soul of Christmas so cheerful and so kind he could use Christmas Spirit to influence the presents to create... happiness. He had such a knowledge of the nice side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from the naughty list. The nice side of Christmas Spirit is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be too joyful.

>He became so very cheerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his cheerfulness, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his elves everything he knew, then his elves naughtied him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from the naughty list... but not himself.

I liked how central the cargo holds of these things seemed to be to Scarif. Like how the AT-ATs had hollowed out mid sections to carry them around. At least that's what I thought their orange sections were.
>>
>>88568656
even if she could, droids are only effective in bulk, and large armies need giant transports, spare parts, routine diagnostics, weapons, storage when not in use
droids also need centralized command, they are dumb on their own and need constant babysitting RTS style
in shot, droid armies are more ueful for symmetrical warfare, by a force with superior manufacturing
while specialized models like the magnaguard or tactical droid would be useful, they are expensive handmade models

in practice, only the U-wings heavy blaster was capable of taking it out by shooting the legs, which it did through repeated hits to a single point at close range, doing no discernible damage until it scored enough crits

Also a normal rocket to the neck blows them up.

And titans are much faster than them, it would basically end up being a lot like the Hoth battle.

Except Airspeeders don't fire and protext themselves with Thermite, or have giant goddamn lasers shooting out of them, or highly accurate firing suites for their weaponry.

so as there has always been a debate on "how to watch star wars" one of the most popular ones is called "flashback" where you go 4 > 5 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 6 > 7

So my question is, how would you incorporate Rogue one? I would put it at the beginning, here is why.

1. Title Scroll. All the other films has this, not this one. The title scroll gives an almost "Last Time on Star Wars" kind of feel, while this one is obviously stand alone and leads into episode 4, so putting it "last" or outside the "watch" doesn't really work if you want a real good narrative.

2. Luke is the New Hope - As others have said, the brings more emphasis on episode 4 and what it meant to get the plans and destroy the death star; but it also brings out the fact that the movie makes mention that "The Jedi are no more" a couple of times in the film, so when Luke learns he is a jedi, he is literally the galaxy's new hope.

3. Darth Vader - so in the orignal film, Darth only had about 12 minutes of screen time, and only a little bit of a shadow on everyone (it wasn't really until 5 where he came off as the threat) here, not only is Vader introduced as someone that is "known and not seen" we are also given only a bit of what he can do as well as well as we have seen what he can do to just mere soldiers, meaning once we see him again in episode 4, we know he is a threat cause we have seen what he can do.

So from one's perspective.

The Empire > "There is no Hope" > an extremely dangerous person appears > Suddenly a new hope > Someone that can stand against vader > holy shit, vader is luke's father > the origin of Vader and the Jedis > How the villains won > Episode 6

since it's only 2 hours, I would probably also add Gennedy's clone wars.

That's completely retarded, no one is going to sit through 4 bad to mediocre movies to get to the good ones, only to then be let down by the visuals not being up to the standard they'd seen until then.

It's flawed reasoning because not only are there very few people who genuinely don't know Vader is Luke's father (even people who have never watched a Star Wars movie know this purely because of how it's become part of pop culture), but it also means that you leave the audience hanging after 5 to watch 3 (or 2 with machete) movies before picking up the storyline again.

Rogue One was great. As Edwards said, he took a risk and triend something different and it worked a charm. Also Filoni getting involved had a positive influence.

I think people were glamoured by TFA

Remember, these aren't Star Wars fanatics
They went from RotS to TFA, with no Star Wars in between.

They went from "FROM MY POINT OF VIEW, THE JEDI ARE EVIL" and total plot failure to something that actually functioned as a basic movie

TFA wasn't great, but it was lightyears ahead of RotS.

So now they're kinda tired of OT callbacks. Remember, they're not fanatics.
An OT callback is no longer a PT distancing measure, but just a lame reference.

If you watch videos of kids seeing SW for the first time, it really is a big moment. Vader is bigger than anything in the saga, including his fathering Luke. My girlfriend who was a SW nonwatcher until last year knew about the "my father" thing, but didn't even know who he said it to (presumably she could have thought he might have been Han's father or some shit).

Besides, everyone should start with ANH. It's the best way into Star Wars.

But it's true.

TFA had a legible plot arc
It was basic and unoriginal but it was there

What the fuck was Revenge?
Characters acted totally wacky all over the place.
Why did Palpatine decide to get captured by his own lackey?
Why did Anakin go from "Don't kill him! It's not right!" to literally the next scene murdering children?
What the fuck was "She's lost the will to live..."?
The fuck type of dialogue is "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!"?

RotS was a terrible terrible movie.
Better than AotC, yes, but still bad
It managed to his some emotional highpoints that TFA did not

But TFA functioned as a, albeit boring, functional story.

TFA worked so well because Abrams is good at creating surface level pleasures and because of the performances. All four of the main kids in that movie are engaging and likeable (Kylo Ren being an actually worthy successor to Vader is a minor miracle) and Harrison Ford actually gave a shit.

I get what they said about how "sterile" the characters were

We know nothing about anyone
Who was Jyn? What did she value?
We literally know nothing about her aside that she gave up on the Rebellion years ago
The same with everyone else
We just know what they are, not who they are

I do somewhat agree that it could have benefited from some fleshing out. Maybe if they cut the Eadu scenes and just had Galen killed on Jedah, they could have fit some character development.

I can see how people would feel like the characters were hollow since the movie moved at a blistering pace

>Why did Palpatine decide to get captured by his own lackey?
To start leading Anakin towards the Dark Side and to get rid of Dooku

>Why did Anakin go from "Don't kill him! It's not right!" to literally the next scene murdering children?

"We must move quickly. The Jedi are relentless. If they are not all destroyed, it will be civil war without end. First, I want you to go to the Jedi Temple. We will catch them off balance. Do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough with the Dark Side to save Padmé."

Do note that a major driving force for Anakin in this film is to find out how to save Padme.

>What the fuck was "She's lost the will to live..."?
Lucas probably pulled it from mythological tales where that happens often.

Rey and Finn get passes because they were likeable and their ambitions were plain

What did any of the characters of RO want?
Cassian was obvious, because he was a Rebel through and through, but Jyn, Baze, and Kirrut were pretty much thrown into the plot and they just rolled with it

Finn wanted freedom and Rey wanted to know her parents/get off of not-Tatooine

>Then why is the PT overall more popular than the OT?

You're just being childish now, Anon. What is your evidence for this? Because I'd point to the fact that TFA, featuring the OT cast, outgrossed any of the prequels despite the fact that Menace was coming on the heels of a much longer hiatus.

Jyn wanted to find and save her father after knowing he was indeed alive and attempting to aid the Rebellion against the Empire even as he worked within it. After his death, she took it upon herself to carry on his will and aid in bringing down the Death Star.

Chirrut and Baze lost their lot in life as Guardians of the Whills when their temple was destroyed by the Empire. Rather than waste the rest of their lives protecting a pile of rubble, or living as beggars, they decided to strike back against the Empire by becoming part of a larger cause.

You don't always need intricate aspirations to do something. These were all relatively simple people who didn't really have much going for them before they were thrown into what would be their last, greatest adventure. Sometimes you do something because it needs doing.

It's just good storytelling to have characters have desires before the Call to Adventure happens

Rogue One didn't really establish that
Jyn was in jail and then freed by Cassian as her introduction.
Chirrut and Baze were just there until they were saving the heroes.

I'm not saying I don't like Rogue One.
I did.

But it's still good story telling to introduce characters, have them putter around a bit, then have the plot swoop them up

Rogue One was very fast paced
And I can see how critics can see that has having hollow robots as characters.
They are not totally wrong as the strongest desire for all the characters seems to be "Follow the plot"

I tended to have trouble getting by the sensors unnoticed because one or two of them would be tucked away in an obscure corner and fuck with my progress. The Y-Wing was fun to use but its sluggish nature made evading the massive TIE swarms that would ensue a migraine. Which was made even worse once you switched to the Lambda shuttle because then you were an even slower, lumbering target that even the fucking turrets (in the event you missed any) could hit.

Still, great game. Battle of Endor was GOAT.

If anything, Jyn's motivations were too spelled out and pedantic. Sometimes it's enough to just have good people deciding to fight evil. Think the opening of Sorcerer where we see the truck driving guys doing shit around the world

I'm not really sure Kylo Ren commands respect, at least not due to anything about himself. His respect appears derived from Snoke's indulgences of the boy. Hux certainly gives him nothing, the Stormtroopers heading towards the detention hall didn't appear to, and officers show fear because Ren is one spergout away from committing murder and it isn't like Papa Snoke is going to care if Drone #3017 is killed.

> Jyn was in jail and then freed by Cassian as her introduction

To be fair, her introduction was more in the flashback sequence at the beginning of the movie. All her reason to live and act as she did was in there, including Saw, who we would later know left Jyn to fend for herself out of fear for her safety had one of his men gotten any ideas.

In my personal opinion, Rogue One faltered the most on how it treated Saw

Saw had the potential to be a truly great character
I think an earlier version of the film had him in a greater role

He was the Rebel Darth Vader
That is what Edwards seemingly wanted in the beginning.
Saw was the warping of a person who followed a belief too far

The Jyn/Saw relationship should have been the core of the movie

I liked Rogue One a lot
But I think it could have been better that way

Anon, he said it's "about 50/50." What does that even mean? How is the date being accrued? Merchandise sales? polls?

I notice you ignore that I posted his quote noting that from 1999 till 2015 you really only had prequel merch, shows and movies coming out and also never addressed my point that TFA is the top grossing SW movie ever, as well as the 3rd highest grossing movie of all-time. It made over twice as much as Menace.

Also, and this actually pissed me off because of how intellectually dishonest it was (or maybe you didn't even take two seconds to do a Google search), but how am I the one grasping at fucking straws when China did not even screen the original Star Wars until fucking 2015.

Why does the idea that not everyone hates the prequels make you so mad?
>>
>>88571625
Jeez, you're oblivious

The first two are ads, obviously (don't you have adblock?)

The first is how the Prequels are "secretly" brilliant
Now... How is something "secretly" brilliant if it is well received?
That title only works if people think it's bad
Thus making any brilliancy a secret

The next is a capital "GOOD" list on how they're actually good
Again, if people thought they were really good, they wouldn't need to ask the question.

The next too are questions to whether they are bad.
For the last time, if the zeitgeist was that the Prequels were good, why would there be popular videos asking so?
If people thought they were good, videos would ask if they were really good
That's how contrarian videos work

Everything here supports me
>>

I think Disney saw how weird he was in the role and asked that he be scaled back. Literally the 2nd Disney Star Wars movie to have major changes in part because of one performance (TFA actually had two if you count Harrison Ford's injury to his leg). Major reports after TFA premiere that the Maz Kanata role was scaled back because Abrams disliked Nyongo's performance.

>>
>>88571799
>I posted his quote noting that from 1999 till 2015 you really only had prequel merch
The only people who say this are people who never paid attention to the merchandise. The only times the prequels have absolutely dominated Star Wars merchandise were in the actual movie years- 1999, 2002 and 2005. Beyond that it's been a mix, with a few years actually getting much heavier emphasis on the OT. 2004 for example had the Hasbro toyline shift focus to OT-only in preparation for the DVD release later in the year.

I think they cut some of her scenes because that actress is a huge cunt and is reportedly very difficult to work with. I mean, for fuck's sake, when she was promoting the movie she just kept telling reporters how lame she thinks Star Wars is and just acted like she didn't want to be there at all. She was there to say to Rey that "Yooooou have a greaaaat destiny"

The Hero meets a wiseman (or wisewoman, it's current year) and they tell them how they're special

With some reworking they could've given most of Maz's lines to Han. Obviously he doesn't know Force stuff, but he doesn't need to in order to tell Rey "hey, you already know your family's not coming, maybe it's time to admit it to yourself." Not only would it have given Han something resembling a mentor role (he does no actual mentoring in the movie as it stands) and given Han and Rey a fatherly bonding moment (which would then make Rey's anger over his death more understandable), but it would've eliminated Maz altogether since beyond those fortune cookie lines she has no actual purpose in the movie. Even the entire reason they came to see her in the first place ends up being unneeded.

I agree, actually

Maz could have been cut and her rallying lines given to Han

Han was a believer in TFA
And I think it'd mean a lot for his character to tell a young Force user that it's real. All of it. And that she should follow that call

May as well. Even have Lando be the reason the Resistance shows up. Rather than having two spies in his bar, there's only a First Order spy. Lando's the one who calls the Resistance.

the story seems to change every time I heard it, but Lucas couldn't think of sometime for Obi-wan to do during the Yavin battle. In the end he decided to kill the character.

Alec's dislike of the role would probably push the decision.

It's easy peasy: Lobot is connected to the city's computer, he practically IS the city's computer, so when some maintenance droids found it he had them turn it in to him. Later he delivers it to Lando.

Lando later loses it to Maz in a game of strip sabacc.

The only "fans" Ewan hates are the ones that beg him for autographs and pictures just to then sell online. It makes him feel used. I think now that Jyn being her mom is completely out of the question, even if it was a slim chance before, there's now nowhere else for it to really go except for her to be a Skywalker. I don't know how they can make her Luke's kid and do it justice. She has to be the child of pre-existing characters or what they fuck were they doing making a big mystery of it? I hate how coy they were about what had been going on during those 30 years, but I guess they have the chance to deliver on those reveals in VIII. If they try to keep those reveals until VIIII, I think they'll really hurt the storytelling.

>Edwards says that after reading the script, the production staff saw only one way out for Jyn and friends. “Everyone read that and there was this feeling of like, ‘They’ve got to die, right?’ And everyone was like, ‘Yeah, can we?’” But with the famously family-friendly Disney in charge, Edwards originally looked for another, lighter, more survivable ending.

>That was, until Disney gave him the green light to kill everyone. “We thought we weren’t going to be allowed to but Kathy [Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm] and everyone at Disney were like ‘Yeah it makes sense. I guess they have to because they’re not in A New Hope,’” Edwards told Empire. From then on, he had his license to kill, and the survivor ending wasn’t even filmed. “I kept waiting for someone to go, ‘You know what? Could we just film an extra scene where we see Jyn and Cassian, they’re okay and they’re on another planet?’” Edwards says. “And it never came. No one ever gave us that note, so we got to do it.”

Pablo has said that the Sith are done for and it would be extremely out of step for the Sith to return since Lucas' intention is that Anakin destroyed them forever. Snoke and the Knights of Ren are a new religion that studies both the dark and light side.
>>
>>88573188
No that'd be racist. Disney will change the Sith race to be green skinned or something.
>>
>>88573175
Stop toying with my emotions anon, I've wanted the Yuuzhan Vong in the movies and games for over a decade. Snoke is definitely Ezra though

I wish they'd at least elaborate more on them, because as it is it's already too easy to mistake them for Sith.
>>
Snoke is just a snokescreen to hide the real threat to the universe: revenge of the clones.

I know who the Sith are, I'm saying Snoke and the knights of Ren arent Sith, neither the race nor the religion, none of them are red skinned because the Sith race died out before even Kotor

Hux and Kylo make a musical
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzaVd6zl2bA
[skip to a minute in]
>Darth Man!
>Fighter of the Jedi Man!
>Champion of the...
>Force!
>Force!
>You're a master of the dark side!
>And torture! For everyone!
>Darth Man! THAT'S IT!!!
>Kylo then reaches for a sith holocron only for Hux to grab his hand and put it back on the table
>>
>>88573243
>I wish they'd at least elaborate more on them, because as it is it's already too easy to mistake them for Sith.
Yeah, even the idea that they study both light and dark is kind of conjectural. We don't know exactly why the conflict in Kylo interests Snoke, but given that Kylo is doing everything he can to devote himself fully to the dark and reject the light, I don't think the idea that he and the Knights of Ren study both really holds up.

OH GOD, THATS WHAT THE RESPAWN STAR WARS GAME IS ISNT IT
http://www.respawn.com/game/star-wars
ITS LITERALLY JUST GOING TO BE TITANFALL BUT WITH A STAR WARS SETTING
>Bounty Hunters
>Imperial Agents
>Smugglers
>Force Sensitives
>Instead of Titans, you can call in a driveable ship, a walker, a mech or some sort of super form of your base class

It's gonna be fun
>>
>>88573060
This is all just smoke and mirrors, folks, don't you take it seriously. It'll turn out that Jyn and Cassian are saved by our boy Porkins!

Unfortunately he got hungry on the way back to Yavin Base and they were all he had to eat.

So I could have sworn that I heard blue milk inhibits force sensitivity, but now I cant find anything that says that. Did I just make that up or is there something that says this?

I've never heard anything like that before. Maybe you got rused by someone.

>>88573727
shame, me and my friend were discussing whether or not Jyn was force sensitive based off a few key scenes. One of which was was the odd close up of blue milk in the beginning

>>
>>88574029
Yup. His music makes these movies truly outstanding and special.
>>
>>88574029
Got to admit the music is a huge part of the whole thing. One of the reasons why I'm not a huge fan of TFA with its weaker soundtrack. Rogue One just isn't quite right, the music is at points way too different. I'm USED to different given TCWs and Rebels soundtracks can often surprise us, but...well it is only my opinion.

Why is Christmas Special hated so much?
Okay, it's a bit dumb and boring, but nothing offensive. There's worse SW shit out there.

Definitely agree with TFA's soundtrack. I was expecting a lot more, and it kind of took me out.

R1's wasn't that noticeable for me, which isn't a bad thing.

I think TFA and RO's soundtracks are both great. They are more subtle and don't have a single breakout track like the Imperial March or Duel of the Fates, but taken as a whole they are both deeply atmospheric and resonate well with the themes of each movie. More understated scores but no less beautiful.
