I would go for an American program, maybe. Something that does not get them accused of recycling stuff.
Maybe Jolt's backstory, in rough terms. Gets put through sick science experiments to produce mutations for [some Nazi stand-in, if not just Nazis], gets bailed out by either heroes or SHIELD, then taken under their wing.
If she is with SHIELD, they could push her on Carol as a handler, leading to entertaining catfights that end in them being close enough to kiss, stopping the fighting and hovering like that for 1-2seconds where the audience thinks they'll start making out because Hollywood cliche. I think this one will really depend. The other characters they've used for MCU have had solid backgrounds that they've stuck to since the beginning. Carol's entire history is a complete clusterfuck compared to the rest of these characters. Will they even reference Mar-Vell

I've never seen Room, so I can't really say anything about Brie Larson. I'm sure she'll do the best she can. Even if the script is not good, it'll probably be similar to the actors in the Star Wars Prequels trying the best with what Lucas gave them.
