Right now I'm in my office making a jeapordy review for my statistics students. We're having an out of class review session to help those who need it. In the meantime, I'll start Pt. 2 meow, finish when I get home, and then finish Pt. 3 soon after.
Previous thread here.
>>87546474
>I don't like starting on just a page in the comic but the MiracleScans group removed all the covers to tell a more "cohesive" story. While I appreciate what they did, part of me wishes I had the covers to all place.
>>87565679
Fuck yeah OP
>>87565679
hey OP, any possibility of the zip file soon, also bump
>>87565953
I'll start working on that tonight.
>>87565679
>statistics students
SPSS, Stata or R, choose wisely.
;_;
>>87567036
>Not using SAS like a real man
BUMP FOR SURVIVAL! My review session took longer than anticipated and now I'm heading back home. Try to keep this thing alive
Live.
Keeping this thread alive.
>>87567036
SPSS lol. This is a behavioral statistics class so must of what we're doing is tied to probbility theory. Next week we start covering One-way ANOVA, Two-Way ANOVA, Regression, and non-parametric tests.
Also I'm now back home. 4chan pass is logged in. Ready to start the posting.
>>87569093
>ANOVA
Jesus christ, it's been years since I had to use that and I still hate it
>>87569125
Lol right there with ya. I hate doing it but it's something that I had to incorporate into my curriculum. I'm going to teach them how to do it by hand, and once they got that down I'll familiarize them with the appropriate SPSS procedure.
Right now my biggest issue is that the class I'm in charge of involves analyzing sets of data and most of my students don't have any prior knowledge of research methods. Meaning they're going to try and analyze data without giving a second thought to how the data was was collected and how that influences what potential analyses we run. It has been a long and arduous semester but they're getting it.
ALso I apologize for getting back to this thread so late. Work was a "B". So I'll try my best to get through at least one more thread after (or at least que it up so it posts into the night).
>>87565679
>OP teaches Statistics
>meanwhile I can't even pass a middle school algebra test
One of these days, I'm going to stop joking about it and actually kill myself.
Reading the first thread right now. Bumping to keep this one alive. thank you for posting these. ive heard great things about Morrison's batman
>>87569267
Don't have that attitude. Most of statistics is actually fairly simple with the hardest put just involving what formula you have to select. I'm sure that with a little effort you'd breeze through it.
I'm actually teaching a couple students over the winter break in a somewhat unofficial audited version of this class and I'd be more than able to send some documents your way if you wanna bone up in that area. If not, that's totally cool too. =D
>>87569284
On that note, I bet that if you put your mind too it you could probably teach yourself statistics. Initially getting the vocab and procedure down take a while, but once you've been exposed to it once relearning it just gets easier and easier.
>>87569345
Also did Batman just murder someone?
>>87569324
You'd be sending me documents I'm too stupid to understand. I can't do basic algebra.
>>87569641
Being Gotham's Mayor is suffering. Never any good press or news.
>>87569688
I think you would pleasantly surprise yourself. Really. One of my colleagues wrote a free stats text book and posted it on his homepage under the 600 tab (he teaches grad clases).
The book is written in such a way that it's literally like he's explaining things to you as he's going along. It's like having a teacher in book form, not just a book with important information. That said, if you just don't like stats then I totally feel ya. This class isn't even playing to my strengths and I'd much rather teach research methods or as I like to call it, "How to NOT design a shit study."
>>87569747
I'd drink. A lot. I'd also need to be on a truckload of medication because I feel like every single day would just be another goddamn nightmare. Being in charge of a city that literally tries to kill itself every night would wear your ass down.
>>87569771
bump
ANd here is the exact moment that Bruce decides to fuck his shit up.
>>87569810
That guy is not gonna be able to walk for the rest of his life.
>>87569820
He's going to need a catheter to go along with broken/paralyzed legs. Kneeing Batman in the face would be the equivalent of mildly poking a shark in the eye. You just don't do that shit. Even not knowing Bruce Wayne is Batman, I feel like it's pretty understood that Wayne is no slouch when it comes to defending himself (or maybe it's just his posture that makes me think that).
>>87569860
I mean, people need to start making the corrilation that every time Wayne gets into trouble the offender loses a leg.
>>87569893
Maybe they just love tempting fate lol.
And now she knows....
Bruce, you really gotta stop giving chicks your secret identity. IT doesn't strengthen the relationship
>>87569967
That's a pretty way of showing it though.
And this page is officially the beginning of Batman RIP
>>87569979
You do have me there.
Another Batman series, another scene where Bruce mourns the loss of his family. You'd think eventually he'd get his shit together and decide to quite bringing them up at literally every instance. I swear you can't have Bruce make a speech without him playing the dead parents card. Telltale Batman was especially guilty of this. The second he opened his mouth to recite what happened to them and how he was affected I audibly groaned.
>>87570154
Take a page from the Punisher. Yeah, he's always sad and filled with rage, but he can do other things and be motivated by other people.
>>87570192
Excellent point.
>>87565679
Woah, doing the bat epic is hard
>>87570264
I'm up to the challenge. i hate that I forgot to include a title with this thread (put it in the name box lol) but I'll fix that with the next one. HOpe people manage to stick around for the entire thing.
just looked ahead and yes this volume does contain all 7 issues of FInal Crisis as well as the Batman Tie-Ins. Not sure if the Superman issues were included by I'm not too worried.
>>87570430
Are you going to redo the Final Crisis issues?
I adore these books.
Bunch of fucking wackadoo nonsense.
Love it.
>>87570545
I was planning on it. I know they were posted previously but I really want to post the "entire" Batman Saga so those of you that save the images in this thread (using JDOWNLOADER) will have the "complete" volume and not just parts that were new. However, if people would strongly prefer i NOT do that I'm willing to consider leaving it out.
It also may be beneficial to post Final Crisis because some current people in this thread may have missed out on the previous storytime.
Dr. Hurt looking dapper as fuck in this pic.
And Batman has officially gone looney toons.
>>87570850
God I love comics.
>>87570850
Bat-Mite understands our pain.
>>87569771
>How to NOT design a shit study."
OP, STEA xDMfag here.
You're great, just wanna say. I wish there were more people as enthusiastic about "hard" academia as you seem to be.
Real cool.
>>87571265
That actually means a lot. Admittedly when I first started teaching I tried to control the classroom a bit more than I should have resulting in me being a colossal ass. Thankfully now that I got a few years under my belt I'm way calmer when under pressure, way more open to change and flexible on some assignments, and much also more likely to hold extra study sessions late during the week or anytime over the weekend even though I'm not getting paid for it. I think this is the year where I probably get my best evaluations.
Shit has officially hit the fan.
I think any other iteration of Batman would have their story end right here. I can't see New52 Bat, Dick Bat, or Nolan Bat escaping a situation like this. However, that isn't to say other Batmen could pull it off. Three off the top of my head include DKR Bats, Affleck Bat, and West Bat.
Also in case anybody hasn't watched it yet, Return of the Caped Crusader is a stroke of goddamn genius. At no point does it feel like they're mocking the show, if anything it's a glorious adaptation of the 66 material and not once did I ever feel like I wasn't being entertained. It's in my top 3 animated Batman movies of all time to say the least.
Trying to learn how to spoiler text.does this work
Bruce you magnificent bastard.
I honestly don't know what to think of Morrison's Joker. I can't really pin down a theme associated with this iteration. His look and speech are unlike anything I had seen before.
>>87571698
just highlight your spoilers and hit ctrl+s
Goddamn Bruce
One of the biggest fuck yeah moments I've witnessed in comics.
>>87571752holy shit, thanks for the info
>>87571846
Beryl best girl.
I wish I knew why Hurt kept repeating that he's Thomas Wayne to Bruce when it's clear that Bruce in no way shape or form is going to buy into his bullshit. He just comes across as really dumb/delusional. Just my two cents.
>>87571869
At any point was there ever ongoing Knight and Squire series?
>>87569695
Oh shit she's on to you
>>87571890
think the intention is to so obviously /not/ be Thomas Wayne, but insist upon it just to make Bruce even briefly consider it, to mar his memory of his father with a dab of doubt.
Eat shit bitch
>>87571846
Aw, no shots of Squire's butt this story? Shame.
>>87571890
There was a series. I only recall one issue where they fought a gang of evil Morris dancers.
>>87569747
Every single day it's you either got to deal with the highest homicide rate in the country a police force more corrupt than FIFA or a bunch of physcotics literally making 9/11 look like a fucking drive by shooting your best like if defend is a seemingly unkillable man in a bat suit with a large array of sidekicks
>>87571920
I actually like this explanation.
And now we're going back to Final Crisis.
>>87572075
Well, this is where I drop out. Have a good night.
>Doing Final Crisis again
Damn, you're a real champion
>>87572082
Totally feel ya. Hope you come back when I get to volume 2
>>87571890
It makes a certain amount of sense. His name is Thomas Wayne, and he is effectively Bruce's father, in the sense that he's reasonable for the things that made Bruce into who he is.
>>87569235
Wait, is that Bat-mite?
>>87570096
You think he fucks in costume?
>>87569360
This all seems like a hallucination, so maybe not?
>>87572416
Looks like. I don't know many other tiny floating batmen off hand.
>>87572460
I would. I know Bruce definitely likes it when Selina wears her costume so I assume he'd be down.
It's not a true superhero event without a superhuman funeral. It's an overused trope and I almost wished the heroes would have shown up in suits/dresses. I know technically the costumes are their official uniforms, but you'd think someone would show up in a black suit, look around, and say what the fuck are you guys wearing.
>>87572197
Another good explanation. Thanks for clarifying guys.
>>87572511
I love that superheroes are so used to coming back from the dead that at funerals they hope it happens again.
That's a sweet touch.
>>87572555
It is a sweet touch, but eventually I just got
>>87570219
How he fuck are you still alive
Agg it cut off.
It is a sweet touch, but eventually I just got tired of witnessing heroes come back from the dead over and over till it got the the point where death has no meaning. And anytime they come up with a bullshit reason to NOT bring someone back when they obviously have a variety of means wreaks of editorial meddling. That's why Invincible is in my top five cape comics simply for the fact that it feels like a world where choices matter. So like the opposite of a Telltale Game.
>>87572610
Because the Joker is literally immortal. DC will never let him die and the Joker knows it, that's why he's willing to throw himself into almost certain doom (Damien riding off the road in an ambulance -- blowing up in mask of phantasm -- "dying" in the first Superman Batman cartoon teamup movie). The only saving grace is that it seems like the bullet to the cranium did some lasting damage to his psyche (more so than usual).
>>87570310
I love how physiological and connected all the villains place themselves here not something you see that often
>>87572663
I always have a soft spot for Villain Gangs. The Sinister Six, the UFOes, the Royal Flush gang. Flash's Rogues. SOmething about a well oiled machine of supercrime extremely appealing.
>>87570850
oh yes.
>>87571780
OH YES
>>87569810
The Ten Eyed Man has always been a particular foil of Batman's for shit like this. I like the redesign.
>>87572765
To the shock of no one, the obviously evil cunt was evil.
>>87570265
I think if there's one weakness in the Bat-epic is that I don't think Morrison ever gets Bruce to a better place with Tim. I may be forgetting.
>>87573059
Nope, I think you're on to something there. While Morrison didn't really touch Tim's character I thought Christopher Yost did a more than decent job on Red Robin.
And that's all folks, I hope yall enjoyed. What I'm going to do start a new thread thread around 10:45-11 tomorrow morning. I'll start it from my house and pick up at school (I'm gonna be locked down on campus tomorrow so I "should" be able to post pretty consistently).
>>87573143
Thanks a bunch, Anon. Good diversion for tonight.
>>87571859
Holy shit damian
>>87569235
The hell is Peter Parker doing there?
