>>86755366
Ali-Ka-Zoom was in Seven Soldiers, Blackbriar was in Justice League Dark, Graystone was introduced in Red Hood and the Outlaws, Felix Faust has been around for forever and probably made an appearance in every DC magic-related book.
Prince Ra-Man is a Bronze Age character, don't think he's been used anywhere in a long time.
Not sure about Kulak and Extrano, but probably the same.
>>
>>86755603
Extrano was infamous for being one of the first openly (still mostly implied) gay characters that got AIDS via Hemogoblin the AIDS vampire

He was from either global guardians or new guardians, I forget

GAAAAAAAAAAY
>>
>>86755634
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraño

>Outwardly resembling nearly every stereotype of a gay man, Extraño initially wore loose colorful garments and has a lively, jovial attitude. He refers to himself as "Auntie" and usually imparts parent-like advice to his teammates. In reality, he may be the very first openly gay superhero, a distinction usually attributed to Marvel Comics' Northstar who, while coming out a few years after Extraño was introduced, was a much more popular character who existed for ten years prior and was implied to be gay in those appearances.

>In The New Guardians, Extraño helped his team defeat a number of supervillains while trying his best to assist them with personal problems. On one mission in particular, he was attacked by an "AIDS vampire" called the Hemo-Goblin. He was subsequently confirmed to be HIV-positive but it's unclear whether he was infected by Hemo-Goblin or had already been infected prior to his introduction

>MSG: Let’s talk about that coming back. We’ve heard anecdotally that the first volume of Midnighter has been doing really well in book stores and obviously very critically acclaimed, despite low Direct Market sales. How did the new series come to be?

>SO: Well, honestly, it was very easy. I knew that sales were strong on the Midnighter trade. As authors, we can sign in on Amazon.com and see how all our books are doing — which isn’t the whole market, but it gives some indication. I went to lunch with Dan DiDio and asked if there was a road to doing more with Midnighter and Apollo, because I have more to say.

And he said, “Absolutely there is.”

That’s how it happened. It was a dinner in Seattle and the support of the readers making their love known — more than would have been estimated based on the monthly sales.

Based Didio.

Apparently that's exactly why he was chosen to do JLA.

>AVC: Your biggest project is still on the horizon: a new Justice League Of America ongoing series. How did you score the JLA gig?

>SO: JLA came about because I’m DC-exclusive, and I have a reputation around the offices for an intense and very detailed love of DC Comics characters. Pitching characters that editors haven’t heard of in years and years that haven’t appeared in decades and decades. That sort of rich love of the DC Universe is why they thought of me for JLA. It’s a book that pulls together a diverse array of characters and interests and settings and explores the wonder and awe of the DCU. That’s the way I feel about the characters and the company. In my mind, that’s why they thought of me to take this book on.

Probably Neron, since he's confirmed to appear in the mini.

>I won’t just deliver fans the much-anticipated return of Apollo. I’ll also feature the Lords of the Gun and the iconic Mawzir from DC's seminal Hitman, as well as Underworld Unleashed's Neron. And that’s just the beginning. It’s a knockdown, drag out, DC Universe western revenge thriller that starts kicking from page one!

This was a very fun issue, but it feels more like Midnighter 2 than Midnighter & Apollo. In fact, #2 and #3 covers only show Middy, and the book universe is basically the same of his solo book (in other words, Midnighter-centric).

>>
>>86776057
The whole reason they're doing this is because the midnighter trades sold way better than expected, this is basically designed for the trade market

I'm ok with that, I think they work very well in the DCU. This mini is taking advantage of the universe and is full of DC characters and places. Midnighter also had very fun interactions with Grayson and his cast, Suicide Squad, Prometheus etc. Would be a shame to ship them off to their own universe now.

Well that's what good writers can do.

King, Seeley, and Orlando are radically more talented than anybody who worked on a Wildstorm book during the Nu52.

I can't believe the nu52 fucked something as basic as Midnighter and Apollo being gay for each other, while Orlando managed to put them through a break up and still portray them as being in love.

They're also passionate about those characters/universe. Orlando said it was his dream to write Midnighter since he was about 14 and we all know how much of a Wildstormfag Seeley is.

I marathoned Wildstorm Authority too! The only thing I couldn't get through that featured them was Stormwatch: Achilles. Something about that was so unbearably generic to me. With The Authority, at least the uneven quality was entertaining at times. I even have a soft spot for Human On The Inside.

King is a talentless valor stealing cuck who hasn't written a good line that he didn't plagiarise, and every proper discerning alpha male connoisseur and critic of serial art knows it. "He" is such a spineless weakling that it would surrender to the mudslimes faster than a bande dessines. No talent, no skill, no integrity. And you all knew it, even the self hating beta faggots sucking that scumbags' shrivelled, ISIS-loving pedophile "cock".

do you perchance posses the source for Monarchy series? Scans I found were of dreadful quality and I've heard very good things about it.
