The Venture Brothers did this occasionally.
>>
>the villain has a gun
>misses every shot
makes me laugh every time

>hero is fighting a large group of villains
>looking closely, most of them are just standing around and posing in combat position
i love seeing this in cartoon shows and live action films

Ben10 on a few occasions.
I think once in AF, once in UA and like 3 times in omniverse.
>Ben Reset the entire universe.
>Nobody believes him.
>The only significant change is that his favorite smoothie place tastes different and he got a new jacket.

Suspicious character is thought to be an X
They're actually a really nice albeit awkward person.
But they're actual an X when the MCs aren't around and nobody notices.

this manga is really good at this
>>
I know it's dumb but I love when introducing a rival or big bad one of the main characters or his friends put everything they have behind an attack but it literally doesn't phase or move them. Forcing them to get stronger to actually be able hurt them

They did that with Ultraman in Smallville I think.
Or was that when Lionel took over Clark's body?
Both times were pretty great honestly.

First one reminds me of Punisher MAX. Not the same situation but similar.

Frank kills these kids' parents for prostituting them and then acknowledges that he'll probably see them a few years down the road.

>Sidekick is shown to be highly manipulative over the course of the series
>Evenutally revealed to be far more evil than the original villain

>Original villain has to team up with MCs to stop them

Bonus points if said sidekick doesn't look like villain material to begin with.

Funny you say that, when the justice league episode version is the only adaptation of an Alan Moore comic that Alan Moore approves of

In fact he said it was better than the comic. Because he did the Alan Moore thing and made the dream world subtly depressing, whereas the actually happy dream world in the cartoon made it that much more devastating for supes to let it go

The closest thing I can think of off the top of my head is that scene in xiaolin showdown. It's something like Omi regretting not using his knodlge on how to destroy evil forever, when Chase tells him that due to him doing stuff, if Omi had of done it, he would have destroyed good instead, going on to say there's evil in Omi and they aren't so different etc.
Omi then responds that Chase didn't have to tell him about the whole, the knowledge would have destroyed good thing and states there's still good in Chase. I think, it been a while so the details are a bit sketchy

TLDR; xiaolin showdown did something sorta similar with Chase Young and Omi.
