I feel the opposite, I think every live action Joker has been "funny" in their own way...with Leto it's about how he acts like a retarded person more than anything, whether you find it funny or not doesn't mean he wasn't written to be funny.

People might not think Nicholson painting mustaches or w/e on works of art was funny, but it was SUPPOSED to be, just like Ledger dressing in drag

In any case, I liked Leto's Joker aside from his relationship with Harley which was obviously toned down to appeal to the faggots and tween girls who like the MCU
