also holy shit that was a good episode, i'm iffy on the whole upgraded weapons thing though. the flail and knuckles are subtle enough, but i'm not feeling the new trident. I also wonder how the fusion weapons will be affected if the upgrades are a permanent thing

I suspect that the hilarious technological disadvantage of the Crystal Gem rebellion would've made the escalation of a weapon like the Point Break the last straw for the Diamonds.

Rose was able to push it to the point of "this is a waste of resources, we're withdrawing." The point break, in all likelihood, would probably have made the Diamonds decide to A.) Build their own Point Breaks, at a much faster rate, and equip all of their soldiers with them, and/or B.) Nuke the entire planet into dust rather than waste soldiers on it.

I think the reason she could not tell the CG was that after the Corruption event, she couldn't handle the fighting anymore.
She wanted to build, to create, to have peace.
