I can see why a star, more than because of the five points for the five members, is a good symbol for the crystal gems. One of things stars are associated with is good luck and god's blessing. And man they were lucky to successfully break away from homeworld and live, survive a long and brutal war that countless other gems were shattered in, and be one of the only few on the planet to be saved from a mind breaking corruption nuke sent across intergalactic space from the diamonds. The handful of gems that escaped something that took the lives of millions of other gems, and brought their legacy and mission to change things far into the future, thanks to Rose.

More likely she hates singing because it's seen as the diamond's mark of superiority, it's their "Vast Glub" if you will. Rose fell in love with humanity becuase they managed to turn a something once thought of as the end of worlds into a thing of beauty, and it became a symbol of what the crystal gems sought to protect which is why all the crystal gems sing, but none of the homeworld gems do

I personally got into it at Cat Fingers, which is the 6th episode, but it takes most people somewhere from 8-15 to get into it, with episode 12 being the most cited. Most people recommend watching up to episode 25/26 before making up your mind for sure, the episodes are short and those two in particular are really important. If you don't like it by then it's definitely not your cup of tea.

Try to watch the episodes in order, as difficult as it may be, and try to avoid spoiler too. In fact I'd recommend that you get out of this thread right now to avoid them, the show's not what it seems at first.

There was no escape.
